  1. Im surprised how tempered the reaction is here. I know we've sort of known it...but Slash and Axl back together? Thats huge.

As usual its the way they did it.

Confirming Coachella. Ok, thats nice, which kind of means Slash, but it didn't say that.

Wait 20 minutes, THEN Slash confirms. So its like by that point, the luster has worn off. Its not that we're not excited, but it was confirmed in the stupidest drips and drabs.

But yeah, this is fucking incredible.

I can't argue that, this whole night was a prime example of how not to make an announcement. But anyway, Slash and Axl :headbang:

  2. Come on guys, this is perfect.

Where else can you get this kind of entertainment? Am I the only one sitting back just straight out laughing at how "GN'R" this series of events have been?

Did any of us honestly think we'd see things go off without a hitch? This is how it has always been and always will be.

I completely agree with you. This is 99% of the fun

  3. I think it would be living in further denial if we're are about to take his tweet as a "lighthearted joke". It is quite obvious he denied the whole reunion thing (in his own way). Best we can get (if he gets on Kimmel) is perhaps an annoucment on new album or something like that. The whole Slash/Duff reunion (at least with Slash) now seems like one big fat joke. I won't be holding my breath anymore.

Seriously? All the other evidence means NOTHING to you?

If Axl denies it what use do I have from all the "evidence"?

@keenan: Go back under your rock you live in.

I've been following and am up to date with all the rumours and online articles, has nothing to do with being uninformed. However, does Axl's tweet give you any real reason to be optimistic about reunion? I mean, we can "interpret" it whatever we want, but it's not really encouraging, is it?

The guy was making a joke about Taco Bell (which is delicious) I don't think anyone needs to read too far into it.

  4. Like always, these discussions are beyond stupid. It's completely a matter of personal taste.

Has nothing to do with the topic as well.

Back on topic: I feel Slash will be a good fit for what Axl is trying to do musically. I hope he'll audition and get the gig. A standard 2 year contract to see how it goes.

Audition for his own band and guitar parts?

  5. Might get bashed for saying this but I gotta say that if you listen to the clip, 4tus sounds quite a bit different than he usually does on the subject of GN'R. Usually he barely acknowledges the questions, brushes them off and quickly moves on. Outside of being dodgy on directly answering the guitarist question, the dude sounds really excited in the clip.

He even almost slips and says "next year is gonna be a big sur....year for Guns N Roses." Its sounds like he was going to say "big surprise"

I too think he sounds a bit different than usual, much more excited rather than just going through the motions of answering.

  6. (Fernando), can you please ask Axl not to put that Jackie Chan shit on there? That clip sucks.

I love Jackie Chan, but surely my Jackie Chan is far better than your JC.

I see what you did there.

I have no idea what he did there.

Mercenary and frankly never wanted to be committed or part of GNR.

8 years of dutiful touring and towing the party line with one or two missteps. Sounds like perfect criteria for Axl's enemy list.

Im just assuming he means that he has heard the "final" or newer version of that song which is better than the clip we have all heard. Or I'm full of shit. Who knows.

  7. Anyone can answer my questions (not just Fernando)

What exactly is Fernando's relation to Axl/GNR? I don't keep up with all the family ties of TB. As far as a I know Fernando is Beta's son and he became manager after the last one was outed? I'm not asking to make any jokes or anything like that, I just genuinely don't know.

Now a Fernando question, Do you regret taking the position of manager at all?

  8. Gotta be honest and say that I think it's great that Fernando can appreciate the humor that goes around the forums.

I agree. All GNR issues aside, good on him. Thread is meant as lighthearted fun.

But I do expect him to heed the call. :max:

Speaking of lighthearted fun, I did this at the bar last night:

What was the reaction when it played...

  9. ffs people, do you think Fernando is to blame? Sure, an update would be out of this world but do you guys really think he makes the calls? Sometimes it seems you havent been following the same artist for years.

No one is "blaming" him. Simply calling out his shortcomings and apparent incompetent nature as a manager. He doesn't make the plans for Axl but it is his job to keep the fan base somewhat up to date. If he has time to post vague comments on htgth, he has time to make an update. Even if he's just blowing smoke up our ass he could at least update on band member status and if new music is being worked on. He doesn't make the calls but he doesn't have to act so pretentious to the fans.

  10. He didn't fit GNR. He butchered the old material which is 90% of the setlist.

I don't see what is great about his contributions to CD either.

He is better than Ashba which doesn't say much.

I'll acknowledge that he is better in a band that suits his style, that being NIN.

This pretty much sums it up for me as well. His old material lead work was just terrible live...and a lot of people talk about his awesome CD contributions but I can't name one memorable riff or guitar melody on that album. His solo in Better is...ok, and that about all the praise I could give him.

  11. Would you be happy about it?

Personally, he was one of my least favorite GNR guitarists ever. I hated his stage persona, his look, and I thought he butchered a lot of the "classic" solos. I'll admit he can play a decent guitar but I felt as if his style never really fit the band, especially after Bucket left. I was pretty happy when he left..although then DJ came along and made him seem not so bad. But I still don't think he's the right man for the job even though DJ has softened my opinion on him a bit.
