I still don’t mind the video or the song, not my favourite by any means, but it’s funny, remember all those years we literally obsessed over the “mythical” song we only knew the name of.. now look at us.. most of us can’t stand the song and absolutely despise the music video. Truly a crazy turn of events in the gnr fandom

The Magnatone guy kinda went ahead and said he thinks Slash's new solo album will be out by March. Check it out from 2:12 below.
What’s the Slash version of “getting the corn”? Because that guy will probably get it

Just bring back the damn dolphins @Dexter
I don’t think the video is that bad though, better than Absurd and HS at least.

I stopped caring about how it was received years ago. It was never going to be the return the band to what it once was in the late 80s and early 90s. I feel bad for Axl that it didn't roll out how he might have wanted (though, some of that is on him for doing next to nothing to promote it himself).
But speaking selfishly, its success really didn't affect my enjoyment of the music one way or another. The irony of saying this in a thread like this one (in which I point out the monumental popularity of some of GNR's songs) is not lost on me. It's nice to have the things we like validated by a wider audience. But whether one person likes TWAT or 10 million do, I'm still going to love that song.
Maybe I'm kidding myself, but I'd like to think that the popularity of something doesn't affect my enjoyment of it.
Oh I completely agree with everything you’ve just said, I’ve never really cared about what casuals or none fans say about the band, I had the piss taken out of me for years in school for liking them but I stuck with them.
I guess what I was saying was selfishly wanting more for myself to enjoy with that somewhat underwhelming release. It was fun of course but there could have been so much more. Looking back it’s like the album came and then.. well that was it. Back to touring a year later.

It's interesting to imagine how CD would have been received had it been given a proper launch.
Release Better as the first single then follow it up with This I Love. Videos for both.
There Was A Time should have been the third single.
CD to me is bittersweet, it was so good to have it finally released and having an all new album to explore and I still enjoy it to this day but it’s so sad it wasn’t properly delivered with singles/videos and promotion (interviews) from Axl. Such a missed opportunity for something he’d worked so hard on

Actually kinda cool, give it a few more years and GN’R will go full ‘Gorillaz’ 😅

Bunch of whiny wankers in here.
You complaining about the “whiny wankers” inadvertently makes you a whiny wanker… welcome to the group!

No one can sit here thinking Axl rapping “It Tastes Good” in biker shorts and shit like that is cool. The fact that they were always a bit inherently silly made them more appealing as opposed to bands like Motley Crue that were campy but took themselves too seriously.
I thought it was pretty cool… maybe I’m just not very cool either 😅

IMO, Eden was the only one from UYI that wasn’t cringe. I’ve always thought that music videos shouldn't need much $ dumped into them
I think The Garden is one of the better videos along with Eden, gritty and sleazy.. the way I like my GN’R!

I wonder if the Brazilian girl Beta got rid of may have been a crazy stalker type of Fan of Axl, like the creepy type who would go into the MALE restroom stall with him without his permission/consent and try to get WAY to friendly with him if you get my drift. 🤔
I actually used to speak to her in 2015/16 if it is the girl you are talking about… ‘Swisilian’. At the time I had no clue she had any connection to Axl, it was only last year someone mentioned the name and she was having some sort of relationship with Axl and my mind was blown! She was not creepy, nor a stalker, she seemed genuinely nice, really cool and was/is beyond gorgeous. Knowing now that she had a fling with Axl and never once made it known (in terms of GN’R we only spoke the music, the band and shows we had been too) makes her seem even cooler imo, she never boasted or tried to be “miss important” because of her connection.

I also love the part where Slash gets married and Axl loses the ring and Duff plays an epic solo in the desert. Brilliant

That's.... REALLY fucked up! 😳😱 The only thing worse would be if Matt was secretly gay and told Slash and Duff in this in confidentiality and they sent a gay male stripper as a "gift," and tape recorded Matt and the gay male stripper having sex. 😱😳
How in the world do you come up with this stuff?! 😂

Uh, Axl's hometown is Lafayette, Indiana. What do you mean he never lived in Lafayette, Indiana? He was born and raised there! 🤨
William Bailey lived at that address.. ‘Axl Rose’ never lived there so the courts would never list that as a previous abode for ‘Axl Rose’ so there is fault in your logic

Plot twist. The Served Papers were actually served to Axl's Childhood home in Lafayette, Indiana, a home he hasn't lived in for around 50 years! 🤣
But Axl Rose never lived there..

I think this guy really nailed Bucket's solo in Better. I've never seen anyone doing it with such precision, and IMO it's miles better than what I did. Sure it's weird that he's playing a strat and the final note doesn't sound really like what Bucket plays, but overall, I def think this guy deserves way more views. I don't know him, BTW.
That final note of the solo is badass! Awesome playing 👏🏼

Admins, delete this post if it is out of line, but.... All this talk of Axl's abuse in a thread that is supposed to be about happy moments in Axl's life is weird. Shouldn't the talk about Axl's childhood abuse be a SEPARATE thread? Not in a thread in his happy family moments?I did mention Axl's childhood abuse in this thread myself but it just hit me literally one minute ago that talk about Axl's childhood abuse is actually hijacking this thread. 🤔💡
Karice don’t… 🎵🎶
