Axl is clearly unmotivated while performing with GNR. If he's beholden to something (trying to best Velvet Revolver in 2006-2007, trying to sell NewGNR on his own without proper management in 2009-2010, working as a hired hand for AC/DC in 2016) he puts in the effort. But now he's coasting again, which doesn't bode well for the future of GNR.
Would you feel cheated if Axl consciously refused to sing to the best of his ability after you paid good money to see him perform?

Don't Cry should be played every single night. There's no excuse for this. DC has nearly 200 million more views than Patience on youtube and it was a bigger hit.
Also, it was the first Guns N' Roses song written. Come on. It totally deserves a permanent spot on the setlist.
Axl said in a 2002 rant that it's "an Izzy song", so take that for what it's worth

I do. He said Axl should had given him credit for his moves. Axl is a true original. That guy is delusional if he thinks he shaped Axl's stage moves.
Marc Canter admitted that Axl stole the snake dance from Richard Black:

2010 was fantastic but Sweet Child was still raspless as was November Rain.
He pulled out the rasp for both songs at the St. Petersburg show:

He started the GNR tour last year with rasp on a ton of songs, but then he gradually got lazy
"Coma" in Vegas was nearly flawless and shocked the hell out of me

Axl hasn't sang "sometimes I need some time on my own" during November Rain since 1993 - I'm guessing whoever programmed the teleprompters fucked up and they never bothered to fix it

Honestly, there are some dense people on here. It was fantastic! He sang it emotionally, from the heart, if people can't see that then I despair, Phoned it in? Fuck off! No rasp? What's this obsession with rasp all the time? Some songs don't require rasp, they'd sound fucking stupid!
If Axl would have sung "Sailing" in 2006 without rasp, we wouldn't be talking about that awesome cover of "Sailing" GNR did in 2006, we'd be talking about that awful cover of "Sailing" GNR did in 2006
Axl's full-force voice makes the songs - he refuses to use it now for whatever reason even though he used it with ACDC all year last year.

Axl needs to hit rasp on those high notes or he shouldn't bother

AND NOW THE POST IS THERE AGAIN LOL
It reminds me of when the band first announced their Vegas residency a few years back - I posted "lol joke band" and the mods freaked out
I hope you narcs enjoy your comp tickets, but jesus christ calm down. The announcement yesterday was lame and the tour will only get progressively lamer.

It's not my favourite live era. But better than expected.
A offical release from one of the 01/02 shows would have been awesome. Or Download Festival '06
I still wonder if Axl erased Bumblefoot's guitar on the Nightrain and Paradise City videos from Download 2006 because he was fucking up so much, or if it was a production mistake

Wait, this was the big announcement? An arena tour?
"We can't sell stadiums anymore so now we're playing hockey arenas"
They should have just nutted up and got a co-headliner, but Axl has too much pride for that
IIRC those Rolling Stone gigs GNR had to cancel in 2006 were the only shows where GNR would have been an opening act in many, many years
-
I looked at the Buffalo ticket sales so far recently and man - there's so many seats still available. I'd be surprised if 25% of the seats have been sold.
Add a co-headliner like Aerosmith or Foo Fighters and that would help a bunch

Yeah the poor US sales don't accurately reflect its impact. It wouldn't have mattered how good or bad the album was, if it was available on multiple platforms rather than just Best Buy the sales would have quadrupled at least. There was so much anticipation. It's a shame the marketing team was so shit behind that release.
Counterpoint: if Axl hadn't waited so long, the label wouldn't have been so hell-bent on making their investment back by taking Best Buy's guaranteed money
-
The album was Best Buy exclusive in the US and that killed sales
Sure the label "sold" all those albums to Best Buy, but consumers used to getting music from Amazon or anywhere else didn't bother to buy them

A guy was supposed to do this with 2010 footage but his hard drive crashed or something and he lost everything he had edited
-
I'm guessing Axl going back and re-recording all the songs for Live Era is what make him despise singing with rasp

It would be great if AFD 5 did do something together for the anniversary but I think it will be private if they do. Personally I don't see it happening due to the fact that it would overshadow the rest of the tour and everything they've done up till now. Plus there's no way they would play all 12 songs off the album because that would mean Axl rehearsing.
Anything Goes is the only song Axl hasn't performed since the 80s
-
Playing the whole album at The Ritz would be the best tribute

Do you feel cheated as a ticket buyer knowing Axl isn't giving it his all for GNR shows?
