  1. Shameless but even more painful when you click on any of the albums and the link redirects you to shitswag including their iconic "demented death ride from hell" shirts.. "limited edition" with "limited supply" lol.. I wonder why..

  2. No not anything special. It may be a "good" song in that it is straightforward and has a catchy melody, but doesn't do anything for me, a bit more bland than something I would expect labeled as GNR. This doesn't have anything to do with the fact that Tommy is on lead either.

  3. Considering the fact that Ron hasn't left yet, despite his years of bitching and moaning, leads me to think that he must not have that "hard of a time dealing with it".

This seems like attention-whoring more than anything else on Ron's part.

If I were a betting man, my guess would be that Axl could take the stage 2 hours late for the next 7 tours and Ron would still be there to cash-in on every opportunity.

Does anyone else feel like the "nice guy" charade is wearing a little thin? You really unhappy? Prove it and leave.

Well he is very engaging with the fans for the most part, so he has a "nice" attitude in that respect.. obviously he has his priorities though in terms of business and, as you are suggesting, he is becoming alot more "accepting" of what comes with the GNR territory, even though for a long time that wasn't the case..

  4. I got some somewhat encouraging info from the rockfuel guys about the release not too long ago. I didn't post it because they indicated there were still some things to work through. Although it did read like good news, there always seems to be some kind of holdup.

I'm really hoping management can work through these and not just give up on the whole thing. Time is really of the essence; a few more months and we'll be pushing 2014.

Right now, I still think we're likely to see it, but only if we get a firm release date in the next 4-5 weeks or so.

    so what did they say?

Not much more than the update. They gave a date-range that they were aiming for (it's not past yet) and gave a short (but still vague) explanation for the delay. I don't think the specifics of what he said were something he intended me to post.

When it comes to GNR, what one aims for and what is likely is completely opposite..

Honestly, even if they gave a time frame, or a release date for that matter, it's not released until it's on the shelves.

  5. UK yes of course I think this would definitely improve the morale of the fans, and I know you've made this topic for polling purposes but the issue at hand is not how people here feel about it but how the band members/management would respond..

As I suggested in another thread, perhaps you could make one or two new accounts titled as 'gnrofficial' or 'team brazil' or 'bumblefootGNR' etc with moderator access but disabling visibility of the rest of the postboard so their attention isn't diverted.. set them up with these accounts and passwords, and maybe to show how serious you are, give them a opportunity to bypass the main forum with their own link like mygnrforum.com/gnrofficial which redirects to the forum login page..

Thanks for your initiative all the same..

I think the first step is putting the offer out there, which has now been done. The details can work out later, if there is a response or if any interest in the idea is shown. Your kind of putting the horse before the cart right now.

    Baby steps...

I don't think I was getting ahead of anything.. I made these suggestions with the perspective that, if it is done and a offer is made, the band members, managers etc can see that the moderators of this forum are taking this seriously and making extra effort to accommodate them.. not just saying 'look come back to mygnr we'll control things better' but 'look come here to mygnr, we can see things have gone out of hand, we'd like to propose x and y and z"..

The idea has been floating around for a whole five minutes. I don't see the point of laying out plans when nothing has been accepted. Especially when most of us already know how this is going to turn out already.

I didn't see any harm in making some suggestions, but in any case, I will leave my pointless ideas here and be on my way.

  8. sofine11's idea is great but I don't think they would engage so heavily in a proposed sub forum when it seems they are not even so active on their official forums..

I just thought a Q&A section would be similar to Canter, just a small part of the forum for them to check in, and you can give them their own user account like 'teambrazil' or 'gnrofficial' and block access to the other forums so their attention isn't diverted.. that way they just log in, take away feedback or respond to some questions, and thats it..

The point is, if Fernando claims that the reason he avoids this forum is because he doesn't like what he sees, nor does he want to comb through pages of what he deams "hate" to communicate with the fans, give them their run at their own sub-forum. Give them their unadulterated presence at the forum.

If you ask me, that'd be a pretty generous olive branch offered their way. Of course, if communicating with fans, even in a controlled environment isn't high up on any of the involved parties agendas, we'll find out pretty fast...

Yeah I understand and agree with you.. I was thinking more smaller steps, somewhere for them to come and engage in a Q&A whenever they feel appropriate.. if they wanted to come and partake in the forum more broadly and have moderator control, then yeah why not.. this place would definitely be much more positive in any case, aside from news about a possible album, even just smaller trivial questions..

  10. I'm sure you UK or some of the other mods here might have communicated with GNR's crew directly right, particularly of late with the leaks?

So go ahead set up the forum and then send them an e-mail inviting them to talk?

On top of that, couldn't you set them up a new account disabling access to the rest of the forum so that their attention isn't diverted?

  11. Racism has NEVER been allowed on this forum by any admin and we take any and all allegations extremely seriously -- To suggest otherwise is wrong at best and purposely misleading at worst. Please use the report function if you feel there are racist comments being made. Feel free to also PM myself or HV.

How anyone else decides to run their site is up to them. Mygnr has grown significantly over the last 12 months and we have plans for further development and expansion -- I accept there are a very small minority who are only out to slate the band (some have since been banned) but at mygnr we have the biggest community world wide and we accept differing opinions as long as they are not breaking any forum rules.

Personally, I'd rather be known for freedom of speech than a controlled censored environment.

95% of the members of this forum are Pro Axl and are open to GNR under the current format -- for ANYONE to dismiss a percentage of that 95% for being disinterested or disheartened as 'the enemy' or 'not REAL fans' (seriously, WTF?) is laughable.

So a few people take advantage of that, why not concentrate on what the majority of fans have to say? Good and/or bad?

This isn't a moan at all, far from it -- but I'm proud to represent mygnr under this ownership. Whilst (sorry Dari!) there are things we've got wrong and I do regret; we're addressing that now and I'm proud to be the owner of this site and of our ever growing community.

    Carry on :)

You have alot to be proud of as a result of the time and money that you invest maintaining this community, and it is appreciated.

I was going to ask you whether there would be any value in setting up a management Q&A like Canter's section for someone like Fernando to come and consider a strictly moderated section of questions? Probably not worth it though considering how low they think of the fans, going so far as to label your own staff here as assholes.

  12. Hopefully he reads that letter and realises the only hate/negativity is due to lack of appreciation from the fan and management - appreciation at the most fundamental level, aside from the time and money invested by fans in this community buying the albums, buying merchandise, travelling to visit the shows, and running/maintaining this forum out of respect.

I wonder what there is constructive he could take away from the official forums or HTGTH forums? Take advice for what?

DJ messed up a solo - post deleted

A certain song wasn't played - "Axl doesn't play the show for you internet warrior"

Interest in a new album - "You're not entitled to anything stop complaining"

So what type of advice or feedback could be taken away from places like that? ""Richard's guitar should be louder in the mix"..?

Of course there is going to be hate when certain members of your team/crew call fans assholes, make explicit references to genitalia, label them as complainers, and so on.. none of this would have happened if there was some respect, and some communication..

How about a Fernando Q&A section? Give him a chance to come here, and to interact with the fans directly, the passionate fans who really CARE.. who really see the potential of this band and want to give their support.. and to get some real honest feedback to take on board..

Probably not even worth it though..

  13. Great videos... that first show at Taiwan in 2009, although was not completely 'on' technically, as has been said, Axl was really getting into it, and for the start of a tour his voice was fairly strong.. 2010 took that to another level both with his voice and his physical condition....

As for now, unfortunately he doesn't seem as inspired and his stage dynamic seems to have significantly decreased.. I won't pursue the line of discussion judging Axl as a fat fuck, lazy etc, only because - aside from the fact that I don't know anything about his physical condition, I have personally seen how even just one year can dramatically change someone's health negatively.... it's just a shame how things seem to have quickly changed, and I wonder what comes next..

  14. I saw a post earlier suggesting that its now the fault of the fans that GNR won't be releasing any new material.. that is really a ridiculous proposition... you would think that they are doing us a favor giving things away for free.. there are innumerable people active and browsing this community who would make a significant investment in a new digital single, an EP, a cd, a box set, or more, because this is a business after all.. yet, those same people who put their money into the gnr catalog, fly all around the world supporting the band's shows, put their own time and money into managing communities like these, are considered complainers, assholes, and any other number of derogatory terms..

  15. Guns N Roses should be trying to find whoever in their ranks keeps handing these leaks out for free. We get punished but whoever on the inside is doing the real damage gets to sit back and keep collecting a paycheck

Not just that, but it's very likely that this person in their ranks handing out this material is dealing in exchange for a good monetary return.. this is the bigger problem that should be addressed, not a helpless fan handing out their hard earned money to a "source" for material which is then freely passed along the community..

  16. Yeah I got the hint.. it's not about the lack of music anymore, but the attitude and lack of respect towards the fans..

At this point I would suggest the owners/moderators of this forum stop giving the band the privilege of a dedicated fan funded and notable online community..

Turn this into a broader forum based on different bands, films and so on..

I'm really just about finished with this farce.

  17. "Everyone took the fun out of everything"

Who is "everyone"? The fans? The same fans who are ready and willing to invest in new music yet are so worthless to this management pack that even asking for a simple update is considered a complaint?

Also, took the fun out of what? "Generally speaking" didn't Team Brazil say there was nothing to update on?

  18. Theft ha ha.. the problem is in your own yard Del.. if circumstances allowed, it would be these fans that you and your crew hate so much which would improve your meal ticket..

I keep hearing these negative, overprotective stories from the likes of Del and Beta, yet I recall the video of Axl in a hotel bar animatedly sharing a memory about Slash.. I wonder who is really keeping friendships apart..

  19. Nice thread opening Manets.

Let's not forget about video footage from the Chinese Democracy sessions. Do guys think there is any? It would make a fantastic documentary, that's for sure.

I'm not sure about anyone documenting the process due, in my opinion, to the uncertainties regarding Axl's ambition and the ongoing uncertainties with the project.. perhaps some of the band members may have passed around a video camera during that time, but probably just for their amusement..

Building on that though I would be very interested in a documentary or even a podcast featuring new interviews with people involved - obviously Axl partaking would be great, but even just new recollections - for lack of a better expression - from people who contributed.. don't know what the probability of something like this ever happening is but I'd be interested..

  20. Who knows.. you would think that the logistics of an EP digitally released on iTunes could be managed overnight and benefit both the fans and the band from a business perspective.. there's obviously something more, but what exactly?.. Is Axl not prepared to share any more music due to personal reservations? Is negotiation for release of new music being impaired by his management? Is the record label not willing to invest any more in this formation of GNR? Could be some or all of the aforementioned.. this topic will keep coming around with more questions than answers at this point..
