  1. Someone brought up a very interesting point about Pitman and it has to do with what is a band member or not. Pitman was told by mgmt to shut up. You'll never see The Edge saying mgmt told him to shut up. Same for, for example, Dave Murray, Flea, Kirk Hammet, etc. It shows how Pitman, though being in the band since 1998, never had and never will have any power. He is just a hired musician. He was Axl's employee and now he's probably a backing musician in a new Axl-Slash-Duff partnership and he has to accept that and "shut up and play".

He probably made more money than he could ever dream of, being the mediocre musician he is, but I'd feel sad to be in his position. Adn he even called GNR "his other band". Makes it even sadder. If it's his band too, why doesn't he have any autonomy to speak about it? How come Fernando and Beta have more power than an actual member of the band? Pathetic.

    Beautifully worded.

I mean, how pathetic is this operation? (At least, pre-reunion).

Pittsmna is a completely unremarkable musician. He's no better than any random dad testing out keyboards at Guitar Center.

Fernando- by all rights, a person with zero talent for business, who I'm sure is totally uneducated in business-- is the lord and master of Pistmann and Stuson and all the other talentless nobodies who were hired by Axl to play material which Axl's previous collaborators created.

    Pathetic.

  2. Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy and Steven would be AWESOME.

Axl, Slash, Duff, Gilby and Matt would be great.

Axl, Slash, Duff and two guys from 1996 to date... would be fine.

But they (and we) don't need two keyboard players.

One keyboard player plays keyboard and the other one (Chris in GNR case) adds samples, loops, overdubs, backing vocals soundscapes... A lot of bands have one behind the stage. Guns just got their one on the stage...

samples, loops, overdubs, backing vocals soundscapes

These are all the antithesis of why GNR was so successful in the first place.

Let ChiDem die, man. Just let it die.

  3. As a business professional, I gotta say that they're doing this right.

Everyone knows that Axl, Slash, and Duff are performing under the name GNR at Coachella.

The very first time they're seen together in over twenty years will be on stage at Coachella. That's MASSIVE.

Having them appear together at a cheesy press conference would take so much mystique and power out of their appearance on stage.

I'm impressed. Clearly, Beta and Fernie had nothing to do with this.

  4. ChiDem is an album by GNR. That's just a fact, plain and simple.

Another fact is that 99.999% of the ticket buying audience have no interest in hearing one single song from that album, not with Slash and Duff on stage.

Another fact is that Axl will never admit that ChiDem was a colossal failure. So, yes, we're going to get a few ChiDem shit-bombs at the reunion shows.

Axl isn't done with his "ChiDem album release tour" just yet. 8 years simply isn't enough time to properly tour an new album, I guess.
