  1. I'll never understand why anyone would prefer to hear a cover guitarist rather than the actual guitarist who wrote the god damn song.

Isn't that the entire point of going to the show? To watch your favorite musicians perform your favorite songs?

God damn. Celine fucking Dion can sing WTTJ with far more precision, power, and energy than fat bloated Axl Rose can do it now. That doesn't mean that we should go see her sing it instead of Axl Rose.

  2. Look at it this way:

Axl does not attend rehearsals, ever. So, when the band is practicing the songs, Slash and Duff will be in charge. They'll dictate the arrangement and style of the songs, not Fortus or goddamn Dizzy Reed. After all, Slash and Duff wrote these songs-- there's no way Pitman will tell them how Rocket Queen goes.

nuGNR's versions of the music were NOT directed by Axl. He was never there during rehearsals-- those arrangements are just the ideas of the nuGNR guys. Axl had zero input into the musical side of things.

Hell, Axl didn't even sing in between tours or shows.

So from a music standpoint, the shows will be great. Vocals? That's the huge question mark.

  3. Duff is very intelligent and handles finance very well. I am sure Axl. Slash, Duff get and equal amount of $$$$$$$. Then the throw the other guys some bread crumbs for playing, as Axl calls them, "additional musicians". That said, the bread crumbs are probably pretty tasty on a tour of this magnitude.

No way Trash and Douche McKagen get equal money.

    Good to see you, Fernando.

  4. I'm 100% sure that Slash and Duff have protected themselves financially and legally from Axl's incredibly unprofessional tendencies.

Late start fees? Axl (and nanny) pays it. No show? Axl pays it. Huge theme party in back for Fernando and Taylor Momsen? Axl pays for it.

Slash and Duff are far now business savvy now than they were in the past. They're professional, business-minded musicians, while Axl is just as irresponsible as ever.

  5. Agreed completely: just let ChiDem die. It's like parading around a wheezing, gasping, half-rotten corpse.

ChiDem was a huge failure. Just look at the excitement surrounding the Big Three reuniting, and compare that buzz to the embarrassingly shitty years of lineup after lineup, to the point where the latest group touring on ChiDem didn't even have anything to do with recording that piece of shit album.

  6. Just because you can't come up with a reason why he hasn't released them doesn't mean that he's not planning to release them.

How about this: Axl didn't want to release the next album before he knew if Slash is coming back to GNR. Maybe he's been negotiating with Slash for a long time. What would be the point in releasing an album if you're not even sure who's going to be in the band next year.

It would make a lot more sense to release CD2 now with Slash and Duff adding their contributions to it.

But yeah, that's just one possible reason why Axl might have chosen to delay the release. I'm willing to bet that CD2 songs will be released at some point, but you're of course free to imagine that Axl's never gonna release the stuff that he's been working on for years. All I know is that so far things have gone pretty much like I've been predicting with the hybrid lineup and stuff like that.

Hm yeah ok. Axl has been negotiating with Slash since 2008, which is why ChiDem2 never was released.

    OK.

  7. There's a simple reason why ChiDem2 never came out: Axl knows it's just not that great.

He already smeared shit all over his legacy with the abomination of nuGNR and nu-nuGNR and nu-nu-nuGNR.

He knows it's better to leave people guessing about the "magic" shit he has stored away in his vault, when in fact, it's just plain simple shit.

Nah. If the songs in the vaul are even half as good as the ones on ChiDem, I'll be happy to listen to them. Maybe it's because I came to know old Guns N' Roses when it was already over, I don't have that baggage you have. I don't worry about some "legacy" of the old Guns. I like the old and the new old stuff. There are many wasted years, sure, but it is what it is.

Then why haven't the rest of the songs been released? You have some other reason in mind?

Axl clearly doesn't share your view that those songs are any good, because he hasn't released them 15 years after recording them.

  9. What exactly was Axl saying "ok, nevermind" too?

I love the 2002 version of the song best.

I hope Slash plays it. I'm really interested in hearing that.

Me too. There is this musical noise in the background in this version that I love. I'm not sure what instrument exactly is making the noise. You can hear it in this video @ 1:51 to about 2:01. The sound pops up throughout the song and I really like the affect it adds

Yikes. Pretty atrocious vocals here. It's clear he hasn't practiced.

  10. Axl clearly demanded that they use his nuGNR guys. Why? Because this way, he doesn't have to admit that his nuGNR experiment was a colossal failure.

Frank, Fortruss, Reed, and Pitman have proven that they will do and say anything and everything which Fernando and Beta tell them to do (the real leaders of GNR). They will shut up and play, exactly as they're told, because honestly, what the fuck else will they do? This is the fucking lottery for them: getting a regular, huge paycheck to perform songs that other people wrote.

  11. I think it's great! They worked hard to get to where they got to and Then stumbled over some miscommunication and musical differences. I'm glad that they were able to work out their differences. It took 18 years longer than I thought it would take but it looks like they found a way to make it work.

It's been so cool to read this forum over the years and read your opinions, Marc. You always said that Axl and Slash just needed to get in a room together and dispel the negativity, because lots of other people were in between them and clouding things.
