  1. I've been saying this all along, and I still hold to it: I don't think this is a reunion of Axl and slash.

I think this is a new business partnership between them, which will result in lots of new cash grab licensing deals, but nothing in terms of live performance.

Not even possible at this point. NOT ALL THE PRESS IS WRONG! Its definitely a reunion. You had reason to believe this a few months ago, but not now. Its just plain delusion to think its not happening now.

But the press is just going in circles. One article will say "there's speculation", referring to us at the forums, and then the next article will report it as fact, and so on.

There hasn't been one official word from anyone legit, in terms of Axl Slash and Duff going on tour together. Not ONE word.

I've been following this band too long and too closely to have any expectation of sanity from Axl Rose. I loved what he contributed to AFD, Lies, and UYI-- but I don't worship his urine or eat his poop with a smile on my face, so what I see is the Golden Gods and Bridge School videos and see a fat, lazy, weak-willed man-baby. I don't see a savvy man who would do something as logical as getting back together with Slash and Duff for a worldwide tour.

  2. Adler has known a long time you goobers. Do you guys really believe the shit you type? Yes, Izzy knows too.

That's the real key - nobody is talking.

Why would the guys not involved be sworn to secrecy or be willing to be quiet about it all?

    Ring ring.

    "Hello?l

"Hey dude. It's Axl. Sorry, but we aren't going to use you In the reunion."

"So Frank gets to play the songs I helped. Relate and make millions of dollars?"

"Yes. That is correct. And we will need you to keep that a secret."

"Sure, no problem. I will keep my exclusion a secret to help you guys out."

It just doesn't seem reasonable that the guys not involved would be cool with keeping it all a big secret.

Get out of here with that sane logic.

  3. Dave Kushner? Why, man? That makes no fucking sense. I have nothing against him at all, but seriously... why?

If true could have been a Slash demand

It won't be true, Slash and Gilby are still friends, so it would be weird if Slash recommended Kushners name and not Gilby's.

Dude. Slash's co-guitarist in VR was Kushner, not Gilby. Slash has worked for more closely with Kishner than Gilby.

  4. Three guitarists was right for nuGNR, mostly because ChiDem is so heavily layered with guitar parts (in a bad way). Also, none of the guitarists had any real special skill or charisma, so it's not like just two of them could pull the whole thing off.

I'm guessing Salsh insisted on Kushner because Axk is insisting on Fortruss. I could see the secondary guitarists trading off songs-- but there won't be three guitarists on every single song.

Slash will be in charge of the guitar dept: he's Slash for the love of God, a worldwide icon of guitar. He wouldn't agree to do a tour with Axl dictating the guitar terms. That era has long sailed: Slash has worked hard and earned the status of icon, while Axl has become fat and lazy and earned the title of a big fucking joke.

  5. Honestly, how hard is it just to cut calories down to like 1300/day for a couple weeks? Axl would look worlds better and sing better if he weren't carrying so much pudge.

If he's fat on Kimmel, then you can bet we're in for a tour full of Bridge School vocals, meanwhile Salsh and Duff are better musicians now than they've ever been.

  6. Look at it this way: if izzy doesn't participate in a reunion, then that's his choice. It's not like he's clamoring for the job and he's being shot down (unlike Adler or Sorum, if it comes to that).

When Pumpkins reformed, I would've loved to have seen all four originals. But two of them had the chance and said no, so there's nothing to be that upset about.

    Same deal with Izzy

  7. Let's pretend this really is a reunion of the big three.

I'm sure Axl will still own the rights to the GNR name solely. So, where does that leave the other two? As Axls employees, the way he always wanted?

No, the big two won't become hired hands the way that Ron and don and bob and fat joe were hired hands.

The big two would approach it the way that Duff approached his fill-in stint for Stusson. They'll sign on as guest performers, with a lot more power than Brian or Funcke or whatever else dogshit they've have in the band since 94.

Which brings us back to the main point: I cannot see Axl working with equal partners, because that would entail making compromises, which Axl is incapable of.

  8. ChiDem2 ain't happening. Whatever the Big Three are up to, it's about money, not artistry. I don't mean that in a negative way-- it's just the fact.

ChiDem2 release would cost lots of time, money, and energy, all for very little payoff financially. I'd imagine that Axl will make more money playing one reunion show compared to finishing and releasing the turd which is wanted by a handful of forum diehards.

  9. One really positive thing to come out of this is that Fernando is no longer managing the GNR brand. He's not running the social media, not posting pics of hot girls he wants to bang, not tweeting at Taylor Momsen.

A professional agency clearly is in charge of the GNR brand now, which is remarkable. "Fortune 500 Fernando" thankfully is sidelined from managing "his band".

Do you know this because of the trailer? I was just trying to figure out how you knew for sure. Would be awesome if so!

I'm no GNR-insider like many here-- just a business professional who can figure out advertising campaigns really well. That's part of my job.

This is a fucking MASTERFUL promo campaign. The Facebook picture changes? Genius- esp since the pic is from the last show with Slash.

Removing all band members from the page? The movie trailer? It's all just so freaking well-done.

Fernando has zero influence on this. You'll notice that since the Facebook changes, there hasn't been a single pic of a hot tattooed South American woman. It's radio silence now.

The bitter jerk in me still wants to naysay a reunion, because I can't see Axl reneging on all his bitter words these past years.

But, I grudgingly admit that a reunion tour is the most likely event which would involve such masterful promo from a professional agency.
