  1. The whole country is corrupt.

I haven't read the letter yet, but there's one thing I know: Small country, big corruption. Welcome to the real world.

I hear what you're saying man, but Indonesia is the 15th largest country in the world, with a population of over 250 million.

When I said "small," I wasn't addressing their population.

Yea I know. But it is hard not to pass up the opportunity to be a smart-arse.

    You are right though.

  2. One of my big issues with this whole thing is the fact that people that were convicted in Indonesia of making and carrying out the bombings of western TOURISTS in bali and Jakarta only served short jail terms and were then freed. If Indonesia is so big on punishing by death, then why in the hell aren't muderers given the same treatment? This sends the message to the world that you can kill innocent people in Indonesia, but don't try and smuggle drugs out of the country.

And don't get me started on the fact that the judges told their lawyer that they would take away death as a sentence if a huge bribe was paid to them. The whole country is corrupt.

  3. Janis Joplin, Robert Plant, Sebastian Bach, M Shadows from avenged sevenfold is clearly influenced by Axl's lower register and he sounds pretty damn good to me.

I agree with you about M Shadows dude. His lower register is very similar to Axl. You can tell he's also influenced by his look (bandana sunglasses etc)

Tom keifer from Cinderella has good rasp as does the guy from Nazareth.

  4. It would have been better with him, but even greater if he and Weiland, came to terms. Weiland has a better voice than Izzy, but Izzy is a better song writer and is proven to make great work with Slash. Imo a vocalist is the ceiling of a band, the guitarist can be great (Van Halen, Slash, Page, etc.) but with a shitty vocalist, the end product will only result in mediocre music.

Like Extreme. Nuno is an amazing guitarist but Gary Cherone is not anywhere near a match for him. I guess that's also true with when he was with Van Halen.

  5. To me Asking Alexandria are the modern day Guns N Roses but in a heavier genre. They are heavily influenced by GNR.

The video to the song Closure is influenced by Paradise City and the guitar riff in the chorus was inspired by the riff in Sweet Child O Mine.

They also have a trilogy of videos featuring the Rainbow on the Sunset Strip and give GNR a shout out in the trailer.

They even had there version of a St Louis type of show:

That last video. Wow. I feel bad for the rest of the guys in the band. They're solid and nice and heavy, but the singer is just acting like a prat.

  6. Lol Anyone remember on limewire.. they had GnR -every rose as a track

Was thinking the same thing when I read the thread. According to Napster and Limewire, GN'R were responsible for 80% of rock music in the 80s :axl92:

Haha I was super young so I downloaded it thinking hmm did they like cover it or somthing (I knew every rose was poison)

also didn't GnR do cats in the cradle :D

That was one that really pissed me off. Had an argument, like a full on yelling match, with this girl I used to work with about the fact GnR didn't record Cat's in th cradle. This was around 05 or something, so no easy access to mobile internet to prove her wrong.

Thank you limewire not only for all the viruses you you let onto my computer, but for also furthering the minds of the retarded.

A lot of people think Cat Stevens sang Cat's in the Cradle.

How dare people try and take that away from Ugly Kid Joe. An artist beyond comparison.

I also hear that Yusuf Islam guy is trying to take credit for all of Cat Stevens' songs. What a world!

  8. During the Perth, Aus 2006 show, I had the worst case of the flu that I've ever had. I was throwing up before the show and I also threw up all over the floor just after Bach played. I was seriously like Homer Simpson when he wants to go to Duff Gardens. All kinds of fucked up.

......anyway, while I was sitting there waiting for GnR to come on, I saw Del walking through the crowd so I thought "hell yeah, I'm gonna talk with this dude and get a backstage pass" (sick guy logic) so I run over there and I'm talking to him for a couple of minutes, and he's a genuinely nice guy. Much nicer than I expected. Next thing I know, my girlfriend at the time grabs me by the shoulders and asks me what the fuck I'm doing?

Turns out I was having a huge conversation with a lighting truss thingy. Apparently I even gave it a high five! So I guess that's the weirdest thing I've seen. Or at least what my ex has seen.
