  1. Just started playing with a midi controller! Eventually I want to add guitar to stuff like this.

What do you think? Its rough and it only took me like 45 minutes

The beginning reminds me of House Of The Rising sun. You're pretty good actually for a first timer. I DO think you have some good, good potential. I'd recommend Propellerheads Reason as I love that software and use it myself. Cubase too is also good but I do not use it. I'm sure there are others with more gear than I have experience with that can direct you to the stuff you need to start.

A good computer with a decent hard drive is one.....

    :)

  2. I'm only showing interest in the golden globes because trent reznor and atticus ross have been nominated for the gone girl score. I'm rooting for them to win.

    Go trent! Go!

I'm also hoping house of cards will win, amazing show, amazing cast. other than that, I've not seen any of the films that have been nominated or any of the TV series except

true detective and house of cards.

Boyhood looked really interesting. The concept of the film impressed me and how it was made.

As for a prediction I do have a sinking feeling the score for gone girl will lose to either Hunger Games or Interstellar.

  3. that's if I drink which is rare. it depends really. most of the time I prefer mixed drinks-preferably a long beach.

recently I decided I wanted beer which is rare because I simply hate the taste of beer but LOVE angry orchard crisp apple.

if some of you have not tried it I recommend it.

3 beers and I'm out like a light. no joke-I simply don't drink much.

getting drunk is ridiculously easy for me.

I cannot tolerate hard liquor at all. Those that can, I don't know how you can do it. The burning throat and vomiting later.....

I see no point in it. the only hard liquor I do like is barenjager mixed in sweet southern tea.

that's about it as far as faves.

  4. Whale.

Oh....and raw pig's testicles. Not making that up. Tasted like spam.

did you say spam? gosh, I love spam fried in crisco.

    gross eh?

Weirdest thing I ever ate was squid. I accidently ordered a meal that had squid included ( it was some korean restaurant I think ). The menu wasn't very americanized for the less culinary educated folks.

Since then I always ask what does THAT word mean if I visit a thai restaurant or any other where english is not used on the menu. I used to be brave and naive as I never thought I'd unwittingly eat squid because

I'd know what it looked like....

WRONG. I thought it was dark bean sprouts until I took a big bite.

    I do NOT like squid....period.

  5. I've been searching through forum but haven't found this kind of topic, so...why is it so hard and voice wrecking?

Many gnr songs are pretty too much for most of the singers (not to mention their author by himself in these days). Coma ruined Axl's voice a few times, they hardly ever performed it live (only 4 times?).

Do we have any members vocally educated or trained to try to explain it better?

Try singing the song yourself and come back outta breath. Man, I tried that song when I got heavily into doing crappy GNR vocal covers ( still do lol )and just about died. The rasp at the pitch and how it's done totally

killed my voice. Honestly, it hasn't really been the same since I tried it and I don't blame Axl for not singing it live more than he did. I think there is a instrumental cover or karaoke with lyrics on youtube of the song if you wanna have fun and try it yourself, but expect to sound like you got a frog stuck in your throat over the next couple of days.

Seriously, I don't know how the fuck Axl sang that song or how he sings the other songs....amazing vocalist. blows me away everytime I try to emulate the guy.

I'd love to hear the isolated vocals on coma to hear just how he sings the damn song but cannot find any kind IEM audio on youtube to hear just how amazing his vocals are.

  6. Joe Satriani and Devin Townsend together on album with Axl would be my pick.

Devin does sing but he has an epic sound I think Axl could use on the next record. He can do any genre just about and I think he's a brilliant player and performer as well

as composer. He has several albums besides strapping young lad that really show his range-vocally as well. He'd be killer on backing but that's just my opinion.

Here's an example of the epic sound I'm trying to describe-just picture it sounding like GNR instead. There are better examples on youtube but there's so many LOL.

  7. of course not.

My grandma on my dad's side past away this year so did my grandpa on my mom's side. My parents are getting a divorce and my aunt has breast cancer. I don't have many friends and I am not sure what school I will be transferring to next year. No idea what I want to do for a career and I spend all my time going to the movies or browsing the internet. I guess a lot of these things could change if I was more outgoing and into the same things the ppl my age where. I know I'm whining but you askeddd.

Sounds close to my teenage years. Both my grandparents died, my mother died from cancer 2001 & after marriage of 35 or so years my father remarried which was my worst nightmare. I too didn't know what the hell I was going to do with my life. At the time, I wanted to go to Hollywood and become a "rock star". My father even paid for guitar lessons for me to get started on my journey of......a pipe dream.

I also didn't have many friends and still today at the age of 32 only two. Friends aren't everything. Relying on yourself without needing someone there to validate you will pay off when you get older. Been there done that.

You will make it through and one of these days I guarantee you will be browsing the net much older than you are now only to find someone who sounded just like you did annndd....out comes what I'm saying to you.

Stay strong dark and you will make it through all this. If you don't journal I'd recommend it. Mine saved me more times than I can count-especially if I didn't want to talk about what I was so upset about.

  8. If it's something they've been tackling their entire life, it's not something that goes away. Sometimes there's a trauma that happened that set it off, or possibly something hereditary.

I can agree with this. Anytime someone would mistake my mother for my grandmother as a kid ( was adopted by older folks ) it'd bring back the fact that she wasn't my real mother

and that my ass was stamped by the state of Georgia. It's a form of emptiness or depression that I don't think even having a child of my own could ever "fix". I think it would only worsen as I'd

know what I truely missed out on then-being the mother mine never was. Tales of orphans, charities dealing with them and the wonderful adopt a kid commercials just bring it all back and most of the time

    it's on days I'm happiest.

I don't know if Robin was set off by something similar but apparently he had a trip down memory lane that didn't end well. There are so many times it can come back to haunt you before you start to

wonder about reincarnation and wonder if life could be better even if you came back as a cat. Hell, it's better than this! I really don't think this was something he planned.

I had read that he seemed quite himself, content and happy earlier in the morning by people who claimed to have spoken to him. I don't know how true this is but if it is I think

it is unfortunate he wasn't able to stop himself this time. I don't believe for one second this was his first attempt.

Whatever the case may be, he left us a wonderful legacy of films and will forever be immortal because of it. Generations after us will revel in his comedic genius and will come to love him just as much

as some of us here do.

His death hit me hard. I've been watching his films since. :(

  9. Most days? No.

It's so rare I smile that when I do, even for pictures everyone makes a big deal over it.

I'm the moody one in the family & due to not being blood related to anyone in the family with no commonalities even in personality, I'm the dark cloud that rains

on everyone's parade. Even when I just sit there and do simply nothing but listen. Adoption isn't all it's cracked up to be....

Guess I was born that way.

Well...what if tomorrow you are the sun.....the sun that shines on every living being....you can see clearly now.....

    :)

    So let your SUN shine!!

    not really, to be honest.

    :(

    PM me anytime, brother..... :)

Aw, Thanks Kas! <3 that song and it was an added plus the lyrics were included.

    Made me smile!

  10. Don't know if I mentioned it or not but I attended the Soundgarden/NIN gig here in Atlanta 8/8/14. I'll never forget Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun.

It was epic and made more epic thanks to a storm that blew in. I was sitting on the lawn ( outside venue ) when the wind started to blow during the chorus.

It was almost just like the music video and I was just fucking enthralled by it. It became magical ( sober the entire night, promise ). It lightened and thundered during the song as well.

Chris singing while it started to rain on the crowd " Black hole sun, won't you come and wash away the rain " with the wind/light show & thunder was just simply....

Something I'll never, ever forget. Magick is what it was. It was also sunny before the storm darkened the skies. :)

NIN put on an amazing show as usual and I'll never forget walking back to my car while Trent sang "hurt" as the close. 11pm almost 12 midnight walking on wet gravel, disoriented from the show and fatigued I hear

" everyone I know goes away in the end ", as I walk away from the venue. I could still hear well into the second chorus still walking to my car. It was bittersweet and just added to the magic that was in the air at that show. I've been to many NIN shows but this one was special.

As for other concerts lined up this year? I don't have any...

at least not yet. Recommendations appreciated if any.

    :D

  12. Ah, this is embarrassing...

My first car was a 1992 Chevy Lumina driven by an old woman with very low miles on it.

I paid 5 grand cash for it after working a summer job.

It was totaled after having it for almost 1 year. An out of town idiot t-boned me on my drivers side.

Got a Mazda Mx5 kept it for a few years and traded up to a brand new Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS-fully loaded @ 28k.

Kept the eclipse until 2008 then traded for a BMW z4-had to get rid of after 3 years due to being diagnosed with Lupus and

now drive a Mazda Rx8 which I love to death but nothing can replace the eclipse.

I regret trading it-it was a beautiful light blue color and you don't see many around anymore :(.

what i read is, you parlayed a lumina into a BMW via an idiot t-boning you!?

sounds like a great course of events, way to go!

Haha! Pretty much. Letting the BMW go was very difficult for me but I plan to get another Z4 since they make them with hard tops now once the RX8 is paid for ( I had a 2003 3.0, 32k miles on it, maldives blue ).

The RX8 I have is a rare model.

They only made 2,000 reason being the factory in Japan producing this car/color/engine caught fire so they had to stop production of the 2005 shinka. I'm such a geek on this that I even

have my PRODUCTION # to parade around only to other car geeks...

It's a beautiful car and one I plan to keep as a collectors keepsake.

BUT MARK MY WORDS I WILL GET THAT GODDAMN Z4 BACK!

    :P

  13. :P When the nuclear plants over in Japan blew I stocked up on water, snapped up potassium Iodine tablets and refused to go out in the rain.

Joking! ( kind of ) I think it's always good to be prepared because with the way the world is heading you just never know. Not all preppers are batshit insane and not all preppers live a life

unfulfilled. I don't consider myself a prepper but if I hear news that concerns me, I'll search and decide what I may need IF SHTF if ever.

I blame it on living overseas as a child from the age of 3 til' 8 in Japan as well as the Philippines. I was in several earthquakes, Typhoons in japan as well as the Philippines.

The most traumatic experience was evacuating because of Mt. Pinatubo-the volcano. As a small child seeing white smoke drifting out of the volcano, waiting for it to blow at any moment & experiences of earthquakes out of no where, it left it's mark on me to always be prepared to act.

I agree the guys in the video are going way overboard. Has anyone seen the amazing earthships out in New Mexico? If I had the time and money I would build myself one.

they are pretty unique and allow for off the grid living if you're into that kind of thing ;).

  15. I believe ( because I expérience it every day ) in mind over matter and in the many worlds theory and that what one believes is the reality one experiences. I don't believe in ghosts because I choose not to and, thus, do not experience them but I firmly believe that those who do believe in them actually manifest them into their reality.

    Yep. :)
