Izzy is great, awesome, we love him. But his presence or lack thereof isn't a factor in the band playing stadiums in the US. So I can see why both sides are far apart on what it would take to have him involved.
Izzy has every right to hold out for what he wants, more power to him. Although I reckon seeing how the band played a stadium tour without him, maybe he will come back down to earth a bit in the future.
So right now, Izzy's involvement doesn't make sense for either side.

Toss up between Slash's 2010 album and 117 degrees.
-
Its this simple. Slash rejoined Guns N' Roses. CD is a GnR album. Clearly he was given some license to make the songs his own. Many fans always wondered how some of these songs would have sounded with Slash.. now we know.

I'm seeing things on social media everyday. That's how you reach folks in this day and age.

Anything is possible with this band. This band doesn't need two keyboard players but they have that too incase you're unaware...
Yea, obviously they have 2 keyboard players so I'm not sure why you say it like that.
2 keyboard players on the stage at the same time. been that way for a long long time.
Doesn't change the fact that having more than one drummer doesn't make sense for many reasons, and its not how things work.

I am still working out what Melissa actually does... but thats another argument.
As for Steven, if he came in.. played 3 or 4 songs at the start of the set... say Jungle, Its so easy, civil war and YCBM... then let Frank do the middle stuff.. you could have him come back out for the encore.. Patience, RQ and Paradise... thats a 3rd of the show.. and everyones happy.. its not that bigger stretch to believe that is feasible.. hell its not even that big of a stretch to suggest maybe Steven learnt a few more songs off UYI over the years if he wanted to do them.. hes not as incapable as people make out.
anyway.. round in circles we go.. just have to wait and see i guess.
If you had Steven in the band, why would you need Frank?
I don't get this fixation on having multiple drummers in the band.
Whether its Frank, Steven, or someone else.. there is only a need for one drummer.

Hoping for the best - to see Steven on the tour..!! I don;t get why are many people against the idea of interchanging.. If they stick few aappetite songs together than it's completely feasible...and most of all Steven and Frank use the almost identical drum set...
The band only needs one drummer.
Frank is apparently that guy. This notion of one guy playing this half of the show and another guy playing another half of the show isn't reality.
-
the good news is that all of the above is a possibility. it doesn't have to be limited to one of those options.. they can use the strongest songs they have.

but he will continue to overcompensate with his all things CD era emphasis when frankly no one outside of himself, Frank, Richard or the Lebeis family gives even one fuck about it.
I care. Many others do. CD's a fine album and many of the songs hold up well with the older GnR stuff.

I think Frank is the perfect drummer for GNR and I'm saddened by the lack of respect he receives in these parts.
I think he does a phenomenal job on Brownstone.
Of course that's my own opinion. If I didn't like his drumming so much, I certainly would assume say nothing rather than some of the mean shit thats said here.

Anybody ask about steven or izzy?
What would you expect him to say?
Frank and Richard are filling those spots in the band.

I would lose all respect for Slash if he did this. I refuse to accept any material from a reunited GNR that does not involve starting from scratch with the guys together in the studio. Every member needs to have input, like they used to.
nonsense. we should welcome any new music.. if we even get new music.

If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times. I do not understand why Dizzy doesn't do all the keyboard/synth stuff
Might have been a good question for Axl when he came an answered questions, but people were more interested in asking him about Disney movies and dumb shit.

What is Dizzy doing during all of this?
Bongos!

WHO IS THE GENIUS THAT DECIDED THAT GNR NEEDED A SECOND KEYBOARD PLAYER?
actually the question is
WHO IS THE GENIUS THAT DECIDED GNR NEEDED ANY KEYBOARD PLAYER IN THE FIRST PLACE?
Many of the UYI songs have keyboard parts, so having a keyboard player made sense when Dizzy joined the band.

There isn't an option in the poll that works for me.
I am a long time GnR fan. And I casually enjoy some AC/DC.. their songs often show up in my playlists.
So while this isn't like a dream come true, I do think its pretty awesome.
I also don't see how its taken anything away from the great shows that GnR played in April.
As a fan of GnR, AC/DC, and Axl Rose, this is awesome. I'll take what I can get.

I presume you are referring to the Slash-less years.
For whatever its worth, I attended and greatly enjoyed several shows in the 2000s. Kind of lost interest during the DJ Ashba years.
The lineup with Buckethead and Finck, hugely talented and so much potential that unfortunately did not get to reach full potential.
Chinese Democracy however, is a great album.

Axl Rose was the best from 87-90. 91-93 was a mixed bag of awesome and destruction. 1994-2015 he became a joke, which is really sad. Now, the current chapter, titled "Redemption" will greatly improve his legacy so long as things go well......and so far they are!
1994-2015 he was not a complete joke.. he had some great shows and a solid album. There were a few duds and a some long unforunate periods of silence.. but the shows around 2006 were fantastic.

Sounds better than Steven Adler's band, nothing serious but probably a cool show to be at.

I'm convinced Izzy and Adler are deliberately being held back. Axl n' Slash sells this world tour. The full Appetite reunion sells the next.
Very possible.
Right now, the shows are selling out without Izzy. Bringing him on board now would only mean they have to split all this money more ways. In a few years however, that might not be the case..
-
My vote goes to Frank. He does a fine job on the songs, playing all eras, and has been in the band the longest.

By mainstream bullshit you mean the artists that the "most" people want to hear? Like that's a bad thing?
Ok fellas, Beyoncé brings an audience of 10 million. GnR brings 3 million. Let's say fuck you to the 10 million so we can please the 3 million.
Cam you imagine other businesses operating like that? Restaurants. Grocery stores. Movie theatres. Imagine Pizza Hut owners having this conversation. "Well, pepperoni is our most popular pizza. Let's take it off the menu and replace it with a pizza type that has a way smaller audience."
Or "hey, this TV show is the number one watched show in the world. Let's cancel it and air something that has a much smaller audience."
You guys need to expand your horizons a bit. The music world doesn't revolve around your personal favorites and dislikes. Just because something is popular doesn't automatically make it "bad." It just means more people like it than like your favorite band.
I don't need to expand my horizons. Beyonce is more popular, I get that. I understand it. Doesn't mean I like it. I'm not even disagreeing with the majority of what you said. I understand many of us who want a good rock band to headline the super bowl are in the minority. That's why it won't happen.

In my own view I feel this project AXL/DC has win more visibility than reunion Old GNR. Someone else feel the same?
No, I think there was a bigger buzz around the GnR shows.. but the AC/DC thing is big too, and Axl is talking about that to the press.. which may be why it seems the visibility is higher.
-
i would not expect GnR questions to be asked in an Ac/Dc situation.
Axl may not like to talk to the press, and clearly the band as a whole is not doing press - for whatever reason. but they are doing cool shit like putting out videos on facebook every day this week. That's something. Its getting better.
The shows speak for themselves really. The music does the talking. I don't need an interview to enjoy a show. Sure, we'd all love to know the details surrounding Slash's return and what else is in the pipeline.. but clearly the band is not at a point where they want to discuss this stuff.

Was that difficult to keep Dizzy as the only keyboardist in the band? I hope they drop her from the upcoming shows
Dizzy hasn't been the only keyboardist in a long long time. Chris joined in the late 90s.
Still hope to hear what happened to him. But digging Melissa in the band so far.

Maybe I'm old school but I find SB half times to be cheesy and for sell outs. Watching the Chili Peppers jump around and play interments that weren't even plugged in flat out buried them for me. Such a disgrace.
It was even more unfortunate that they weren't even the main act.. they were guests of some pop culture reject artist.

Its not about friendship. Its a business decision.
The reality is, these guys are all business associates.
Personally, I just enjoy the music and the shows. Hopefully at some point some agreement can be made with Izzy.
