  1. I find that Hesitation Marks doesn't sound that good when listened to in full from front to back. I also feel this way about Year Zero.

I think it's mainly weak tracklisting. Their are plenty of spectacular songs on those albums. Year Zero could be one of the greatest albums of all time with a few cuts and rearranging with the tracklisting. HM suffers from a lot of the songs following the same formula so it can get tedious after a while. A lot of the tracks are growers. Disappointed and Running were once my two least favorite songs on that album. Now they're two of my favorites.

It's not Trent's greatest work and feels like a step down creatively after Year Zero, Ghosts, The Slip and his OSTs to more predictable music. But there's still some great stuff on there imo.

  2. It's almost as dumb as dismissing entire artists and genres as Nobody puts baby in a corner and all those terms you bandy around Broski.

Maybe if you didn't gleefully go around coming off as incredibly ignorant people wouldn't respond in kind.

Something to think about when you're not thinking about Robin Finck perhaps?

Really dude. Can't you just have one thread where you cry over me? No need to shit up every thread in every section. Not getting sucked into the vortex again here. Sorry.

  3. great music is never intended to be relaxing. if it's relaxing, it can't be great music. :shrugs:

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

lol you know jackshit about music

Coming from the guy who dismisses entire artists and genres of music because it's "relaxing". Have you ever listened to Jazz or Ambient? Tons of relaxing pieces that are acclaimed and cemented in history.

You come off as incredibly ignorant.

I'll take well developed beats and interesting arrangements over some asshole screaming over powerchords any day. If it's not your cup of tea that's one thing, but to say relaxing music can't be great is just stupid. Sorry. :shrugs:

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

  5. I want to get into collecting but I seriously doubt I would ever listen to them. Just get a shelf to display.

There are certain vinyls I want that I know would look awesome on display.

I should probably get my shit together and get a job.

  6. There's nothing to get over because I don't listen to haircut rock nor do I know what it is. The only thing I've said about it is that I don't think it's going to catch on, and let me reiterate - I don't think it's going to catch on. But hey, if it does good for you. I'm sure you'll consider it a great victory.

You come off as angry (and a little obsessive) to me. I've already acknowledged that I could be wrong. Not sure what else you want me to tell you.

  7. See, like right now you come across as incredibly angry.

Again, might be misreading. And it wasn't an essay. Just letting you know that you're failing at criticizing my music taste.

Don't let "Nobody puts baby in a corner" piss you off. It was used before me and it will continue to be used well after. Just get over it.

  8. I post "Nobody puts baby in a corner" once in a blue moon. I don't fucking go arts and crafts with it like you do.

You can say it's all in fun but I genuinely have gotten the impression that you're furiously angry on more than one occasion. Maybe I'm misreading you, but you come off as incredibly insecure.

And you still haven't seemed to grasp the concept that the music I listen to by NIN isn't even the stuff you criticize. I hardly listen to rock music at all these days, let alone "haircut rock" whatever that is.

I like his more experimental work with the Ghosts album (which you can claim to have heard all you want, but we both know it's bullshit), HTDA and his soundtrack work for which he has won Golden Globes and Oscars (in this decade!).

That's pretty much mostly what I listen to these days in general. Electronic music and film scores. NIN may be one of my favorite bands, but as with Guns I prefer the more obscure material. I don't consider your favorite NIN album Pretty Hate Machine a great record by any stretch of the imagination.

I just figured you should know that you aren't even criticizing my music taste when you think you in fact are. If you're going to do it, atleast do it right. :P

  9. If you need to constantly write "Lol personidontlike", make fake newspaper articles and MS Paint drawings to convey your dislike for a single musician, you're probably not too secure in your own music taste.

  10. Obviously they want to eliminate certain characters in order to give Lena more screentime. She was only second to Peter Dinklage this last season. Pretty much half her scenes were unnecessary. She must be fucking the producers.

She was billed third. Nikolaj was second.

Speaking of technicalities, as of the latest episode The Wall now features the most main cast members instead of Kings Landing making it the first time KL has not been the central location since Episode 2.

    The Wall

    Davos Seaworth

    Gilly

    Jon Snow

    Melisandre

    Samwell Tarley

    Stannis Baratheon

    Tormund Giantsbane

    Kings Landing

    Bronn

    Cersei Lannister

    Jaime Lannister

    Margery Tyrell
