They opened with Somewhat Damaged - was not expecting that at all! Might have been the greatest single live song I've ever experienced. I've heard it at the other two NIN shows I've been to, but it's just fucking mind blowing as an opener and it started off totally out of the blue.

Ilan fucking kills it on bass during Disappointed. Dude killed it the whole show really. Robin was spectacular. Those backing vocals on Eraser were mindblowing. Might have shit myself during that Great Destroyer breakdown.

I think it's just because most people saw it as a fluke. Only God knows. I just personally had a hard time swallowing it. He could had just grabbed her in defense to get her off him. I mean the cops came and they didn't arrest him on the scene, so it couldn't have been that bad. It was only after Perla presumably showed some marks to the cops weeks later that got Slash charged initially, which is to the best of my knowledge standard procedure in most states. And then the charges were eventually dropped. Maybe it was a hostility issue on Perla's part. They were kinda "on again, off again" at that point weren't they? It wouldn't be the first time something like that has happened. . The bottom line is that I think most people shrugged it off because Slash never had a public history with violence, let alone women beating. That's not something that magically materializes at 34, and then drops off completely. It doesn't just come and go like that. Where all these other women that have been physically abused by Slash? What about his first wife he caught in bed chopping another dude? Surely there'd at least be one other claim. You don't just experiment with something like that once never to do have done it before or after. I don't know, it always seemed fishy to me.
