Teddy explains how he got his nickname
-
I get the impression Axl put a lot of money in real estate, he also used to own what is now the most expensive apartment in Vancouver.

Here's the show featuring GN'R if it hasn't been posted before

The rythm on AFD is usually so good you just want to get up and dance. The lyrics are are darker but there is also a nevermind, fuck it attitude that gives a party feel
-
Through your whole life how much money have you spent on GN'R?
This could be buying albums, merchandise, going to concerts etc.
Just to clarify, the spending doesnt have to end up with GN'R directly so f ex accommodation and transport in relation to a concert can be included. So its just the total amount of money that you had to spend to get something GN'R related. Or if you like you could make a distinction in your answer and say how much you spent in total and how much of that went directly to GN'R

When ya think about it Appetite has a dark and raw layer that superimposes itself over the surface tinsel of the songs, that ain't even a party album as much as many think.
i agree, but you still get a party feeling somehow
-
Loved how they immediately cut to commercial after the second time!
Did Axl or Izzy ever attend award shows? I don't recall them being at any.
-
Axl said some one told HIM that he was one in a million
-
Wow I like this more and more. As much as I like CD it's not really an uplifting/party album. The instrumentals in this mash up really made it so much more positive to listen to
-
Testing the waters? Isn't this Guns N' fucking Roses? Why the hell should they test the waters??
-
5 times live is correct. There is also this instrumental version from the Full Mates Rehearsal 1989
-
Can you post the list with all the 95 Known different songs that have been played?
-
He doesnt go out much, we go to the cinema coz he likes watching movies very much.
This seems pretty obvious from all the random pop culture references he throws in at shows and interviews: "po-lice and women" quote at Tokyo '09 from the film White Lightning, TV show intros and outros from 2011 onwards, Madagascar quotes, Kundun inspiring ChiDem...
You mean this? I didn't know when this was.

Dont know if its been posted (havent read the whole thread) and Im assuming it was this gig since its just been posted:
-
Duff was pretty popular with the girls too

"Double Talkin' Jive"The opening line of the song Double Talking Jive "Found a head and an arm in a garbage can" refers to body parts Izzy Stradlin actually found in a dumpster in the vicinity of the studio.
Where did you hear it?
This is the ninth track on the album, written and sung by Stradlin. At the end of the song Slash performs an extended Flamenco-style guitar solo. Interestingly, live performances of this song were stretched from its original three-minute length to more than eight minutes long. The opening line of the song "Found a head and an arm in a garbage can" refers to body parts Stradlin actually found in a dumpster in the vicinity of the studio. Axl would sing this song live even when Izzy was still present in the band in 1991.

"Double Talkin' Jive"
Now "Double Talkin' Jive" is a criminally underrated Guns tune, and one of Izzy Stradlin's most overlooked works of genius. Stradlin wrote the song after finding actual human body parts in a garbage can outside of the recording student, and it's a wonderful mixture of Appetite energy and Illusion experimentation.

Love the live Double Talking Jive, although the studio version is good too. Like the "lieeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssss" Axl adds in the live version
-
Which song in the GN'R catalogue shows the biggest difference when performed live compared to the studio version? And what version do you prefer?
Are there any songs that you only like live compared to studio version or vice-versa?
-
This sounds like some of the songs with confirmed titles will be scrapped for the new album? He said it will also include new stuff so there wouldnt be space for all the titles we have heard.
-
Would you guys still be as active on this forum as before?
-
I dont think I would follow them as closely as I do now. I would still check up on them and of course we have the history, but the hope of new music is one of the main factors I keep checking this forum and following the band.
-
I guess if they indeed are not planning on releasing any new album its a good idea to keep quiet about it. Just have bandmembers make contradictory statements about it to keep fans interested and hopeful
-
But how would you react if they/Axl actually came out and said no more albums?
I'd be disappointed.
It sure would be less exciting. Even though hopes are slim, hope is still there for a new album(s) some day like things are today. If they confirmed no more albums, interest would drop a lot.
