  1. BTW, those saying "HOW PISSED IS RON"... Ron knows the date, he told me this personally. Outside of MSG I simply asked him "I don't need to know, but do you even know when the record is coming out" and he said "Yes, but I am morally obligated not to tell you"... so Ron is in the same boat as Baz.

Yeah but plans change every 5 mins in the world of GNR. Whatever date Ron thought he knew, im sure it has changed in the past month and a half.

  2. Guns N' Roses fans losing "Patience"

    By Jim Welte - MP3.com

    December 13, 2006 at 08:30:00 AM |

As band cancels another concert and with no sign of the long-awaited Chinese Democracy, tensions rise.

"Life's too damn short to be upset about what you don't have--enjoy what you do have."

    Axl Rose

That cryptic message, released by Gun N' Roses guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal as part of a statement this week, has message boards on the band's various fan sites abuzz, as does today's announcement that GNR has canceled tonight's concert in Fresno, California.

Diehard GNR fans have been waiting patiently for Chinese Democracy, the much-hyped, long-delayed album that would be the band's first release of original material in 15 years and its first with frontman Axl Rose as the sole original member. At the MTV Video Music Awards in August, Rose promised that the album, which has reportedly cost $13 million to make, would be in stores this year.

But as the weeks have gone by since then, the band's label, Interscope Records, has stayed silent, and Rose has not mentioned the album publicly on the band's extensive US tour.

Thal's statement only seemed to add fuel to the fire.

"From what I've seen, if you give out info before it's 100 percent confirmed, and things don't happen as planned, it leads to people feeling betrayed, so info should only come at the final moment when all the piece are in place," Thal said. "That's not a GNR thing, it's everything, every business or band or anything else. If you're looking for daily or weekly updates on things that are in the works, it'll become a big mess for everyone."

The cancellation of tonight's Fresno concert didn't help, with fans speculating about the reason since the band didn't give one in making the announcement. Many suggested that it was simply poor ticket sales that have cause the band to cancel certain shows in the hopes that fans would travel to nearby venues on alternate dates.

On MyGNR.com forums, a user named "GabrielChains" was fed up.

"They didn't even bother to make a bulls*** excuse this time?" he wrote. "They're just going with 'Eat s***, buy a ticket for a different show? I'm sorry, but they are a bunch of lying motherf******. This s**t isn't selling because of their lies about the album. I'm f***ing embarassed to be a Guns fan."

Another user by the name of "Towserhead" responded, "I think we're all embarrassed deep down. This guy is meant to be our hero but he treats us like utter sh**. In a way, I hope the tour ends now and he f***s off for good and never lies to us again."

As of now, the band's remaining 2006 concert dates remain intact, with a show in Oakland, California, set for Friday night. But unless Rose and company have a last-minute surprise in store for their fans, 2006 will pass without any sign of Chinese Democracy.

A message board poster by the name of "HisRoyalSweetness" had some advice for Rose.

"It's so funny ... Axl can't make it work without the old guys," he wrote. "He's had more than 10 years, 13 million bucks, and two tours ... still no album. It's just really obvious at this point ... Axl wasn't the one and only element that made GNR work. He's failed. He needs to get on his knees and crawl back to the old guys--you know, the ones that wrote and recorded all the songs that his new band plays each night ... Thankfully, Slash, Duff, and Izzy all seem like pretty cool dudes who'd consider laying aside their differences if Axl was honest and humble with them."

  3. Reports that a new Guns N' Roses studio record titled "Chinese Democracy" was in the works first began to surface way back in 1997. In the years that rolled past since then, Axl and crew performed new songs and tracks have been leaked on the net, but no new record found its way into stores. Earlier this year, Rolling Stone reported a possible November release date. Despite the long wait, Guns fans, who've been snapping up concert tickets on the current Guns tour, seemed ready for the stocking stuffer. Now, here we are, just two weeks before St. Nick makes his rounds, and there is still no record from Axl and crew.

Guns fans in Italy, who say they've manned the GNRonline.it site for six years have had enough. They've posted a message on their fan forum saying they are stopping all posting and forum moderation on the site until they get some "clear" communication from the Guns camp on when the new record is coming out, and if they're not satisfied, they may soon stop the site altogether. A message on the site indicates that the fans who run the site seem quite unappreciated by a "band that does nothing to recognize the[ir] efforts."

Not a peep from Axl or anything on their official site, except to say tonight's show in Fresno is canceled. Guns' guitarist "Bumblefoot" reportedly issued a statement thanking fans for their support, but also seemingly chastised them for complaining about the record not being out yet, saying, "Life's too damn short to be upset about what you don't have - enjoy what you do have."

Easy for him to say, since he hasn't been waiting as long as the diehard "gunners" - but hey, at least he didn't tell them all they "need is just a little patience."

  4. "We have a nice long set. We also have Helmet on the bill and the Suicide Girls. I'm doing the hits and some new stuff, too. Just like every other musician. The Guns N' Roses fans are not just interested in old songs. They want to hear "Chinese Democracy." I even know when it's coming out, but I can't betray my confidence. If you want to hear the songs, come by the show. Axl plays a long time, it's like two and a half … hours."

    Bigmouth strikes again.

    Lol, Thank God!!

  6. why is there two Axl's in the photo?? you can see Axl and then part of another pic of Axl with just the top of his head and part of his arm and mic sticking out. Kinda confusing, also why is it always pictures of Axl and not of the whole band? or a different band member?

I noticed that too...Kinda takes away from the others being in the back. Also makes one wonder why he didnt just go solo if it was gonna solely be about him.

But yeah, they seriously must have chimps running that site. It's gotta be really embarrassing for the band.

  7. So, Merck's refusal to comment can't be a good thing. They fucked up BIG TIME this time. After this, if the cd doesn't come out within the first half of 07, I think the only shot Axl will have at touring again will be to get the old band back together and cash in on a reunion. Or him and the new band can go on playing state fairs and club shows to half empty crowds.

Agreed...Axl, you've officially dropped the ball man.

  8. Dunno if this has already been posted....Taken from HTGTH.

Ron here - this is not a statement on behalf of GnR, just speaking for myself, me to you. For whatever it's worth, I love you guys and appreciate all the support you guys have given the band. I haven't been in the band very long, but long enough to experience how great it is to have fans that care as much as you. Maybe it's too-little-too-late to let you know that, but that's how I feel, and it hasn't changed. From what I've seen, if ya give out info before it's 100% confirmed, and things don't happen as planned, it leads to people feeling betrayed, so info should only come at the final moment when all the piece are in place. That's not a GnR thing, it's everything, every business or band or anything else. If you're looking for daily or weekly updates on things that are in the works, it'll become a big mess for everyone. Meanwhile, we're touring It's been fucking great Since my first show with Guns in May, we've played nearly 70 shows, in 20 countries (if I counted right, at 3am after being up 30 hours... lol) The way I see it, for two-and-a-half hours each of those nights, it's our time to connect with each other - we get to say *fuck it* to everything else in life and enjoy ourselves - that's what it's about. It's not about business or setlists or critics or anything else - it's about saying FUCK IT and gettin' high off it from beginning to end and a long time after. Hope y'all have been enjoying it to the fullest. Life's too damn short to be upset about what you don't have - enjoy what you do have. Not trying to change anything by writing ya, not answering the questions you want answered, just letting ya know that your support hasn't gone unnoticed, and I just wanna say *thank you* to the moderators and members of your forum. For the years you've devoted to the band, and hopefully years to come... Thank you Ron

  9. Seek help.

He could be right, you know....

You know sometimes I feel guilty about coming up with conspiracty notions about the albums release. But then I see people like this make wild accusations about how Axl is preventing the release or is scared...and you know what? Im damn glad im on the other side.

  10. "As for Guns N' Roses forthcoming "Chinese Democracy" album the only comment at this time is that there are 13 Tuesdays left between now and the end of the year."

This is still on gunsnroses.com as well as their myspace page. If plans had indeed changed, surely they would have removed this comment by now. Nothing spectacular, but this definitely gives more hope to the December 18th rumor!!

And yes I remember "News and information on Chinese Democracy coming soon." on gnronline....but it's not runned by the same people. Plus I'll take hope any way I can get it lately.

  11. a close to xmas date to me is perfect cus people spend money very impulsivly, i could see it being at record stores and flying off the shelf just cus its GNR and cds are the easiest thing to buy, a cd with GUNS N ROSES stamped on it would sell, especially if they had any promo poster or POP stuff... who knows, holiday shopping could help huge

    Exactly...

The one thing that confuses me still, however, is what happened with the Harley add. Jarmo stated that someone "jumped the gun" at Harley...I bet they used the demo thinking it was the same as the album version after making a deal with GNR to use it once the album was released. Makes sense cuz lets be honest, there was no difference from the one they used and the demo we all have heard. All things considered, Im still gunning for the 18th.

  12. these are just educated guesses.

    Damned good ones too.

Be prepared however for this thread to fill up with idiots that will tell you you're out of your mind and pathetically holding on to unrealistic dreams because they're record company know-it-alls and they'll tell you it's impossible for something to be released by the 18th. They'll post that just before they go to work as a 15 year old bus boy at a restaurant, or as a 25 year old unemployed loser typing away on mommy's computer:)

    I'm with you though!

It all does make sense. And if it doesn't happen? Life will go on.

    Hahahaha.....thanks Matt. ;)

  13. I believe that the 18th is the most feasable date for the release and here's why...

    1) Universal is paying for the promotion when/if it happens. I find it slightly coincidental that the 3 dates at the Universal Ampitheater are wrapped around this date. Promotional blitz anyone?

    2) Fall doesnt end until December 21...meaning Axl's promise of a fall/late fall release would still be fulfilled.

    3) Merck's "I dont know if there will be any promotion. You may just walk into you record store one tuesday and find it." comments in Rolling Stone would explain why no single or promotional flyers have been put out as of yet. Think about it, if a single was released, we'd be expecting the album to quickly follow. Merck's statement suggests otherwise. They have a plan people, strange as it may be.

4)I believe Merck knew exactly what he was doing when he told Rolling Stone "Theres (insert #) Tuesdays left in the year you'll see it on one of them." Again, suggesting that no single, video, or any other sort of promotion would come prior to the album's release.

Merck knew his statements would be everywhere. He picked his words carefully and wisely, but he did leave clues. But these are just educated guesses. The 18th could come and go with no news for all I know. It just adds up to me. For now, Im stickin with the 18th...

  14. I bet you spank your little monkey off over this several times a day, don't you, pepcid?

who in there right mind goes to a rock concert to see a talentless soft porn show?

they have lapdancing clubs for that

Lawrence! That's the most brilliant thing you've ever posted around here... I told you those small steps would pay off eventually :)

Relax....it was a fun opening act to watch. I was front row center at the Chicago show and all the opening acts, including the Suicide Girls were a blast to watch. To see them live and not be entertained, you surely have no balls. I'd even be entertained if i was a chick just due to the sheer spectacle of it all. So unless you saw them live and actually went to the concert, keep your stupid and inane shit to yourself cuz it doesnt matter to anyone.
