I don't think so he would be Cults Drummer, he left that band ages ago.

its a big FU that he is not involved, He has played on 2 full records and then playing with Slash and Duff for so many years and so many albums. Honestly he contributed so much more than Frank to GNR.

I really don't get how Slash and Duff agreed to play with Frank and not Matt.

The smoke in the screens is starting to clear (I think).

Sorum has said several times that he wouldn't do a reunion without Adler. And Adler hasn't said a word. Duff was the logical connection between GNR and Alice In Chains. Matt Sorum is the logical connection between GNR and the Cult (unless it was a Slash/Atsbury connection, as they collaborated on "Ghost"). But yeah, I don't see Duff and Slash being in a GNR/Cult show without Matt's approval, so something's got to be up.  I could see Matt being a guest for BOTH bands at these shows.

I'm really starting to think Frank and Richard are insurance cards/smokescreens at this point.

BUT this is GNR land.  Anything goes. I could be way off.

  2. I want Izzy and Steven as much as the next guy, but I'm actually one who thinks we WILL see it happen (maybe even the first show).

I'm excited. Before the RRHOF, I thought, "Man, if Axl, Dizzy, and Izzy are out, they need to get Gilby and Myles Kennedy to do at least one song, but they won't."  When I saw online the next day that they did, I was pumped. When I watched the video, I got goosebumps. If I got goosebumps from that lineup, it'll be incredible to see Axl, Slash, Duff, Dizzy, and POSSIBLY Steven and Izzy together.  And even without Izzy and Steven for now, it's going to be phenomenal.

  3. I got bored on page 7 and skipped to here, but I have yet to see ONE person bring up the possibility that someone is probably impersonating Izzy with hopes that someone involved with the reunion DOES speak up about Izzy to squash the rumor.  Someone got tired of waiting and put cheese in the mousetrap.  Duff recently said Izzy doesn't want people talking for him, so if there's an imposter, this is a good way to get Izzy or Duff to speak up.

  4. STEVEN ADLER:

Given that the confirmation of Axl/Slash/Duff/Dizzy/Pitman has gained ZERO public remark by the ever-vocal Steven Adler, I highly doubt he's being left out of this. I've seen several post (and Eddie Trunk allude to) Richard and Frank still being on payroll as insurance in case the other two don't work out, OR to play on CD songs between Adler/Sorum's AFD and UYI songs. But again, his silence is as deafening as Axl's recent silence.

    IZZY STRADLIN:

He and Duff are too close for talks to have not taken place, and he is too close to Axl to not receive another of many invites to at least be a guest on a couple of songs. It's easy to assume he's too much of a hermit to do the big production, but then again, he's the least predictable and the one we know the least about. He'll show up at some point.

    SLASH FACTOR:

In Slash and Steven's books, they talk about how Slash thought the only reunion should be of the AFD lineup, including his decision to not play at the AFD 20th Anniversary show because Axl wasn't there. It's also worth noting that Izzy was on board for that, so there's not as much reason to panic as it seems.

They're probably still dotting the i's and crossing the t's, but no matter what the official lineup is, I think we'll see Izzy and Steven on stage very soon.

  5. Last-minute prediction:

Tomorrow night, we'll learn that Izzy and Steven WILL be a part of the reunion in some capacity, as will Matt. Steven Adler hasn't done any recent interviews, and he's been VERY quiet about GNR since he and Slash met about a month or two ago, and looking back at Slash's book and CBS Morning interview, he always seemed pretty set on ANY reunion being an AFD lineup reunion or nothing. He wouldn't play with Steven, Duff, and Izzy at the last AFD anniversary because Axl wasn't there.

2016 will give us Axl/Slash/Duff/Izzy/Steven/Dizzy with contributions from Richard, Frank, Matt, and a showing or two from Gilby, followed by Axl's retirement.

  6. Even if it's A/S/D/R/F/D for a lineup, I don't see any way they don't eventually have Izzy come out for a song now and then, and if you put A/S/D/I in a room together, there's no way they don't at least talk about doing ONE song with Matt and/or Steven. I want the AFD lineup + DR, but I'll take Duff and Slash coming back for the time being.

  7. Axl with a bandana, without that jacket and all the shit, no hat, no glasses, just an Appetite shirt, leans against Slash's shoulder and goes on a long rant about forgiveness and not taking the negative shit to his grave. He then cracks a joke about people picking on his weight, says Slash is also fat, who gives a fuck, fuck off. Then rasps the shit out of YCBM.

    THIS!

  8. Hi Marc,

This probably isn't thread-worthy, but I just finished Reckless Road last night. VERY great read for any GNR fan! I'll be sure to recommend it to others!

Ever consider trying to do a similar type of book for Use Your Illusions? I imaging that might be a rather tough dragon to slay, but if it were as good as RR, I'd read it.

  9. I've seen the show several times and it's fun. It's usually about $15 and you get a good night of music. I think some of you would enjoy it if you went. Also, for all the shit Dizzy gets on here,I bet most of you would kiss his ass in person.

    This. So much this.
