  1. Kurt Cobain, the guy who was anti-magazines and big labels since the big rock stars were on them....

Appeared on Rollingstone mag and was signed under Geffin(who else was signed under them?)

Seriously people put too much importance on what Cobain supposedly stood for, but at the end of the day it's whether you liked his songs or not. In this case GnR imo are way better and Axl Rose is beyond Cobain in terms of vocals.

    agreed

i like some Nirvana but they aren't in the same league as GNR to me

  2. basically Nirvana made Axl look like a fool and this was his way of getting back at them

he was a fan and wanted them on tour but he is pretty much everything Nirvana was against so they blew him off and dissed GNR

this is a time you can't really blame Axl, he extended his hand and Kurt spit on it

  3. Paradise City's the closer on side G, man. I hear what you're saying, because with the solidness of the album and the overarching vibe, you could arrange it in many reasonable combinations.

Dude I totally didn't think of that. I forgot that this was still the cassette/vinyl era. That actually adds another layer to it that I didn't think of. The G side seems to be the decadent, angry, drug GNR songs while the R side seems to lean towards songs about women and relationships.

yeah thats how they set it up

side Guns - Gritty street records

side Roses - the songs about Girls

  4. i don't know about Nightrain being that late....that was the track that really pulled me in when i first listened to AFD

i had already heard WTTJ and ISE was an good but nothing crazy then came Nightrain oozing with swagger that made GNR so good

really made me realize that GNR was the shit
