To be honest, I don't even really notice his drumming. Threads like these are always fascinating to me, because so many people apparently do and it sounds terrible to them. Bad enough to ruin the songs for some. And I'm just like ???

I don't know, I guess drums just isn't something I pay attention to while listening to music. The only things I consciously notice are the guitar parts, the singing, the melody, and sometimes the bass line (but also not often). :shrugs:

Apart from that, Frank seems like a nice guy. I don't really have a problem with him being in GnR (but then I also don't care for Sorum or Adler, and don't particularly miss them).

I'd happily exchange Fortus for Izzy though. Or hell, I'd even be fine with having 3 guitar players again if it means we can have Iz back.

I'm in a similar situation. For me I relate/listen heavily to the lyrics/singing (and the way Axl moves around...or more recently doesn't move). I feel the bass/drums in terms of rythm and dancing (as I'm dancing thru' out the entire concert). But as far as disecting the drumming...don't even notice it...but I'm not a drummer (only instrument I play is piano). So I'm also totally clueless in this discussion...(other than the fact I fancy Matt as he's a flirt/cute so it would've been more exciting if he was up there...or Steven during guest spots as he's the original).

It's not just you. They released loads of seats a couple weeks back, then removed the seating chart very soon after.

    edit-
Figured I'd move this out to the main section since the next GN'R show is in a couple weeks.

wow---thats pretty bizzare--especially the point where they removed the seating chart!!! that makes things really difficult for fans to buy tickets to know where they want to sit! I was fotunate to buy the tickets 2 weeks ago when they released the lot WITH THE SEATING CHART!

Seems unfair/poor sales service to remove the seating chart considering how much $$ the tickets are...as a purchaser I would want to know all my options!!!

  3. I agree we shouldn't judge others and thier quest to trying to understand life/death/love...I mean come on...look at all the religions...is it normal just because it's "popular".

I mean, come on...hasn't everyone by now learnt about the "hierarchy of needs"? (I had to take a social study course in university...)....it's common for celebrities/rich folks to reach the top of the pyramid and try to grasp the understanding of life. I'm just grateful Axl didn't become full-blow Tom Cruise (a la scientology)---ok I know I'm juding now ;)

Buckethead is very much a great guitarist; a virtuoso and one of the best in the world. However, his image in not really in line with what old time fans of the band were looking for, and that weighed against him, no matter how phenomenal his playing.

ugh, you can wear blinders on, but in all honesty GNR were the 5 original members who fed off eachother. BH was "transplanted" into the band as Axl thought he was/is an amazing guitarist.

I personally can't stand him--not only visually (it made GNR look like a joke) but he seems all technical vs. Slash is sensual/musical/lyrical...something you can really groove to. I am TEAM AXL but when I saw SLASH up on stage in Las Vegas (not only did my heart grow like the Grinch's) but I further appreciated the VITAL role he plays in GNR

BIG *IF* but I may be headed down to this show.  Looking into that.  Would be myself and my wife

ok, keep me posted...I don't work on on Tues/Wed so it's appealing for me (but I have young kids so I don't want to make a long trip out of it)...PM me if this possibly materializes, thanks!!

    I need to get some info from those attending this show; @billsguy, @misfitx77, @ZoSoRose, @Iron MikeyJ, @KURT19, @BigD62, @yourcrazy, @Subtle Signs, @Wagszilla, @Gorthar, @Ghost_Guns, @grubby, @fallingred85, @GoBucky, @GNRchickCLE and anyone else I may have missed.

How many of you are planning on attending my pre-party and how early would you like to start? If you haven't seen the current plan, please see Page 4 and let me know your thoughts.

I'll be off work that day, so I'm good to start as early as anyone else wants to. We've obviously got more than enough music & room to carry an all-day party. I know the gig is just over a month away, but I'm trying to get a rough idea of head count and time so my wife and I can plan accordingly. I'll have local friends/fans there along with some staff members so I already know what their plans are, I just need to know what other forums members are coming and a rough idea of when.

Thanks to anyone who can give me an idea of what to expect!

I'm going to the show w/ a girlfriend

also: parking--> is there valet parking (can you direct me to a website) for the stadium? Or do you buy tix when you get there for a regular parking pass? how does this work (never been to a stadium of this caliber)

also: buying tickets for cheap/second hand...where do you look (I'm not from U.S)...is Craiglist ok? Kijiji? opinions? TIA

I also did both Vegas shows and I'm doing Toronto as well. I have awesome side stage seats for Detroit and my advice to you is go to the show, even without tickets and during the opening band you should have no problem naming your own price with scalpers or even people selling on Craigslist . Even if the show sells out ,with 50,000 people attending, there will be tons of sellers the day of the show for one reason or another. Good luck. Cool that we're doing the same four shows!

thanks for the advice...thats what I ended up doing for the hammerstein shows in NY NY years ago (I bought tickes proior to the 2nd show but bought tix the day of for the 1st show w/ my sis)...and yes I ended up getting tix at cost as ppl were desperate to sell. I was thinking of that method but its maybe too chancey the day of (driving down is a trek)...but something to consider. maybe I'll see you beside the stage rocking out!

  8. ugh...what a wet blanket some of you are!! Just relish the fact that they're together and rocking our worlds!

Let's face it...they were a spark of light/miracle back in the late 80s/early 90s and we should be grateful they re-united and are on tour. Even if they did put out music it wouldn't measure up to what was put out b/c we are TOO critical (especially the forum members!). Look at any other rock/band out there...the intial albums are awsome and then it fizzles (i.e. Metallica, U2, etc). Part of the fizzle is because fans have HIGH expectations and part of it is the creativity is not as powerful as it once was.

I can't stand the debbie downers. Live in the moment!
