Tons of smoke but yet the band's history makes as completely paranoid and filled with anxiety that it'll happen...understandably....I just want it out, so we can talk about it/enjoy it...and move on to moaning about something else, like why can't I buy Pittman's towels anymore!

I'm the same. I'm just focusing as much as I can on other hobbies and trying to will The General (and Perhaps) into existance at every concert. lol

...And Brain said on that YT podcast that Axl recorded vocals for The General...so I guess so. All that effort and no will to put them out, perhaps the older mellower Axl is far away from the feelings of these songs...after all, he was pretty angry around the writing of all this...

And yet it seems to be one the two songs they're willing to release soon (whenever soon is lol). I know it's always an uncertainty with this band, but there's a lot of smoke this time and people also thought they would never release Hard Skool, and yet they did.

I just wish we could get that full original recording, with the NU GNR members, instead of Slash and Duff, which is what we'll probably end up getting, if anything.

I do, too, but ultimately I just want to hear any version (with vocals) of it released. lol Also, I do think Slash could do a killer solo on it, as much as I also want to listen to Buckethead's version.

  4. Guys, I know the skepticism is rooted in years of disappointment, but there ARE vocals on The General. lol At the end of the cellphone leak, that's 100% Axl screaming and it sounds awesome to me. Believe what you will, but if you listen closely to The General leaks, there's no way these aren't vocals.

Also, Sorry, Better and Shackler's had no vocals in the Village Sessions and This I Love and Scraped were nowhere to be found. It's pretty clear Axl recorded vocals after that.

    "We called it Seven"

    credits to : @Shacklermyrye haha

Oh right, I remenber hearing this clip and part about the general, but had forgotten about the Seven bit. So the song itself samples Ben Hur. Dunno if it's Circus Maximus or not, but this song sounds so intriguing from all the different descriptions. It's hard to put them all together. The General, Soul Monster and Seven really are the Holy Grail for me.

Lol i just heard it and yes, what a weird track, sounds like it's just part of a bigger song.

And i believe i read at gnrevo that Circus Maximus could be Seven, since Seven was inspired (?) by Ben Hur, which was filmed at Circus Maximus.  Maybe the one we have was a was a very, very early demo idea of Seven.

Yeah, Billionaire is definitely not a full song, but it might have become part of The General, dunno. And yeah, I could also see Circus Maximus as something similar for Seven, though I don't know anything about Seven (which I suppose is the David Fincher movie, right?) being inspired by Ben-Hur.

This band does things to my anxiety. :axl:

That's what most seem to believe.

Makes sense. I've probably forgotten about it.

    Other random thoughts:

I know it's a reach, but I always had the feeling Dummy is Seven. It kinda fits the description (something like a beautiful balad with a "melt-your-face" chours) and I could see it orchestrated and made one of the Big Guns.

Oklahoma/Berlin HAS TO have lyrics/vocals. It just doesn't make sense for it not to. It's an Axl song and it's not even piano-driven, which means he very probably developed a vocal line for it.

Prom Violence seems very suspicious being the only other song in the same session as Better. I wouldn't be surprised if it turned into something else.

Billionaire does have some orchestration similar to The General. I remenber it's been brought up when it leaked and I agree. Don't know what to make of it, but there it is.

I also can hear where "leave me alone" fits in Elvis. Probably just because I really want to hear it, but you never know. lol

Curly Shuffle is very cool and really feels like a well-realised song. Also wouldn't surprise if it turned into something else. It also has a beautiful solo.

Axl eventually releases a statement delievered to the office's of Classic Rock magazine by carrier pigeon on the current situation.....

"To say that myself and others (who have there own reasons for feeling agreeved) were blindsided by recent statements would be a form of "shall we say clear fuck n' fact" For many years we have felt that I, and by extention Guns were willing recipents of Slash and the "songs" he felt he could bring in. Not without effort (from all parts) it was felt that that the material itself did not match the bar set by others and myself, for it to get me to the point where I could get in to a booth and "perform"

"One man has stated repeatedly in the media assertions to the f'n contrary so too speak. At the expense we feel of both Guns as an entity and you the fans.

"It is true that a snakeskin metronome was purchased although Frank has yet to recieve it as he is tied up in landlord based litigation" I and by extention GN'R as a company will be thrilled to pass it on to him ASAP safe in the F'N knowledge he will not get the joke.

I and others feel let down to an extent by Ms Reece's selfish desire to pro create, but I lean left, so her postion will be held open till her return...In her stead a carboard cutout of chris Pittman will stand behind an unplugged keyboard whilst Fernando animates his cardboard limbs to emulate the appearence of life.

I have heard Traci Gunns has rejoined!!!!!!!!

    We have yet to speak

PEACE OUT N FN' BLAIM RUSSIA!!!!

    W.AXL ROSE.

P.S Does anyone have Buckets number?

We should have an Axl Rose text generator.

it's so funny seeing what others are frothing at the bit for... Listening to the Village Session, i've been obsessed with Atlas... i will be stoked if we ever get anything at this point haha.

I like Atlas, but I'm more of a Perhaps guy. But sure, give me Atlas too. :axl: Now, The General is on a whole other level of hype for me because it's the one that's been talked about the most, we only listen to a tiny, low-quality recording of it and the little we heard sounds amazing. Then Soul Monster is (or at least was) Axl's favorite and Me & My Elvis sounded awesome and Seven has been pretty hyped as well (Beltrami liked it better than The General and Soul Monster and Brain said it was amazing) and we've never heard anything from it (or have we? Does it have another name? ) Berlin sounds very promising to.

Now, thinking about the Village Leaks, of the songs with vocals, how many of the them did we know about beforehand? Of course, we've known about Hard Skool (but with the fake name Checkmate), Absurd (of course, as Silkworms), Atlas and Quick Song, but what about State of Grace, Nothing and Eye on You? Were they new titles for us?

I mean, 90% it's bullshit, but damn, this guy knows how to bullshit. :bucket:

I'm intrigued how the The General, Soul Monster and Seven (which Beltrami consired the best of the three), the three most hyped unreleased tracks, would stack against TWAT. Say, I find Perhaps a notch below TWAT, but on the same level of the other of the top 5 Chinese songs, which, for me, are TWAT, Prosty, Sorry, Catcher and Better. Were people hyping TWAT before it was leaked? Because they should have been. lol
