I don’t even know what cock rock is haha.

Its just riffs and solos. Proper rock music like GNR used to play.

I do get that Myles is a bit bland.

To be honest I just assumed cock rock is what I thought it was seeing it used here.  Like Hard School, few illusions tracks, most of SMKC tracks. They do sound like a cock rocking out hahaha

Yeap, I think all of us see how bland Myles is.

It's clearly Buckethead, it's his sound. Sure Bumblefoot could do almost the same, but his sound is totally different than Bucket, if you're used to both styles.

As for "Slash can make it sound better"... Technically, he can't do this. I heard what he did on TWAT and other Chinese songs live, and he butchers them all, because it's too far away from his style.

Slash shines when he's doing his style. To me, his two best works are "Coma" and "Serial Killer", he absolutely killed it writing those. If he can write stuff for the next album on par with those, sign me up directly.

But I'm very doubtful concerning the Chinese material, considering what we heard from him so far. He can reinterpret Hard School and rewrite the outro entirely, with his own sound, and it might sound cool, I can't say for sure. But it just doesn't fit him at all. I do think he and Duff can come up with a far better intro though.

Dude I get what you mean when it comes to the CD sound with Slash playing them. But what I'm trying to say is with Hard School, he can actually sit down and write something killer for it. Like I said in another post, it has a UYI feel to it, so I can't put doubt on Slash for this song. I'm sure he can nail a new better solo for this one that is "his sound".

Slash & Duff could definitely create a better intro for this song, the way they did on Better, live. I'm skeptical over Slash's abilities to make something better than what Buckethead did here for the outro, but whatever, just bring this song on the album. It deserves it. It's worthy. It's amazing.

    Thank you Axl.

Uhm, I don't think Slash will have a problem doing a better outro than Bucketfoot(we even sure who's in between the 2 playing here?) on this one. It could be a melodic solo or a fast pentatonic noodling. I'm pretty sure Slash can make it sound better. ;)

What is with people on this forum with their "Gilby back" obsession ... The dude was a touring musician at a very desperate time for the band ... His recordings on Spaghetti is a fateful accident ... He was NEVER a Gunner & his 2 1/2 years with the band is nothing compared to Fortus's SIXTEEN

So true, I love Gilby and I even thought that if we can't have Iz on the reunion at least put Gilby in there instead of Fortus. After seeing videos of Fortus and Slash, I think they have a unique chemistry and  Fortus plays soooooooo much better than Gilby. Fortus is a technical player that's not supposed to match Slash's playing, but it actually works so fucking good.
