  1. So in 2006 I put up a thread to find out what album's MyGnR think belong in the all time top 100. The thread spanned 23 pages and had 334 replies. The rules were:

    * Every member gets to choose 5 albums that they think deserve to be on the Top 100 Albums of All Time list.

    * You can choose different albums from the same band, but you can't pick the same album from the same band twice or more.

    * The order of the list makes no difference. I.e if you have Zeppelin I as number one, it doesnt affect its position on the final list.

    * If the same user makes two or more posts, the other posts will be disqualified. Only the first post counts.

    * Compilations, i.e greatest hits albums or live albums do NOT count!

    * Chinese Democracy doesn't count. If its released before July20th, it does.

    * Once you've chosen your albums, you can't change them.

    * The competition ends July 20th when I will count all the votes and make the list.

    * Discussion is allowed, but please try not to go too off-topic. Anything Goes and UYI are for that.

It's not a bad list at all, tho this being a GN'R forum it is a bit biased.

Question is, are you up for another one? For this list I did all the counting by myself, and it wasn't an easy job exactly, with so many replies. I'd be up for the job, but only if I get a little help. If anyone is interested, PM me!

  2. Anyone like him?! I think he's fantastic! I got into him a while back. I remember Black & Gold coming out way back but I didn't think much of it back then. Now that I've listened his album a lot I still think it's my fav tune off it, and the cd is filled with great songs, only a few weak songs on it. Heard he's releasing a new album this year, really looking forward to it.

Dis a nice live version of the song.
  3. It's better than that Euphoria Morning

No, just, no no no no. Euphoria Morning is one of the best solo albums and albums in general of the 90's.

    Great producer.

    Was.

He's past his glory now and can peacefully fuck off. Nothing inspiring, just the same drum beats and different synths.

EDIT: As for his album, bad and I hope for SG reunion as soon as possible.

  4. the bit that stands out for me is their Donington 94 appearance - just watch This Love. Brilliant. and for out and out simple chops its got to be Domination, espcially the outro again. but thats the up of havin your bro as the drummer.

what i always found ace was that the solo on walk and a few other tunes is recorded just bass and lead - no double trackin a rythmn and yet it still kicks ass. PanterA all the way son.

I know, perhaps the best performance of the song ever.

I love I'm Broken too because it has no double in the back, simple but great.

I love seeing Dime rip up the outro to it on the Dimevision dvd. A clip that was recorded in the late 80's. It's fucking awesome.

Yup! And that DVD is one of my favorites I ever have bought.

  5. The sheer energy with this band just amazes me. The sound, the groove and Phil's vocals are like fucking meant to be together forever and beyond. I can't believe how good this band is. It's fucking amazing. Regular People must have the grooviest metal riff ever.

Can you hear the violins playing you song?

Those same friends tell me your every word

Discuss how fucking great this band is.

And I'm quite sure Floods' outro is the most beautiful piece ever played with a guitar.

  6. Outkast has been the most interesting and progressive act in the mainstream over the past 14 years, imo.

Agreed. Eventually I believe they will be considered among the likes of the Beatles as true pioneers of music.

Speakerboxxx/The Love Below is simply magnificent.

    +2.
