  1. I watched Rainman a while back. Good movie, Cruise's acting was actually tolerable and Hoffman was really great. Watched it with my girl and I was the one that cried  Talk about ego stomping.

Today I watched No Country for Old Men. Gotta say the gas station scene was one of the most humorous scenes I've seen in a while  The ending also really impressed me, as did the movie in general. A very good Coen flick, but doesn't go beating Lebowski and Fargo.

  2. 1994 or something is over.

    so?

Candlebox is still a hugely underrated band.

What the fuck? No, it definitely is not hugely underrated. Even mentioning Candlebox on a GN'R forum, or anywhere for that matter, is overrating it.

  3. I think the problem today about understanding old and praised albums is that we do not live in that period of time when an allegedly revolutionary album came out. For example, DSOTM in it's time was something that people hadn't heard before, at all. It was an album and still is that inspired many. I mean, it didn't spend 14 years on the Billboard for nothing.

Same goes for say Sabbath's first, or Zep's first. To truly understand why they are great, you need to examine them in the past sence.

  4. I'd say buy their debut. It's the easiest to listen to. I've read that alot of the ideas in Comatorium were from the ATDI times, and it can be heard. Great album nonetheless.

  5. You really should try closing your eyes and putting Frances the Mute on, with the lights down.

But if you are an unimaginative cunt, then of course you shouldn't bother...

  6. I started listening to them about 4 months ago. What a great fucking band. I've listened to At the Drive-In before but just never happened to give TMV a listen before 4 months ago. I've got to say Frances the Mute is my favorite album, closely followed by their debut, which sounds partly like ATDI. The new album is great as well. I like Frances the most, because when you turn the lights down and put it on, your mind takes you to places. Then you understand all that noise and the sounds and everything. You just can't put it on as background music, you have to focus. Amazing really.

    So, anyone?
