"Use Somebody" deserved the grammy, but I have to say that "Revelry" is a greater song.
I disagree.
when they won, it just further reinforced to me, that rock is not on life support, but in a coma where there is no hope.
that was record of the year?
there are songs on chinese democracy (which i hate) that are better, there are songs on that king's album that are better, and that song wouldn't even land in a top 20 of all songs by leon.
rock is dead.
If anything, that would reinforce the fact that the Grammys are a joke. As if you had any respect for the Grammys whatsoever
Even Biffy Clyro haven't won anything yet.

bloated, overproduced, and borderline corny? yeah
bad song? fuck no!
This. A million times this.

I like them. Only really delved into So Jealous, but its great. I love their cover of Tired of Sex aswell.
-
They're good, but Biffy Clyro are better.
Best songs (entry-level at least) would be Just, 15 Step, Karma Police, 2+2=5 and maybe some other Hail to the Thief track. I wouldn't mention Amnesiac or Kid A, cause I like them as albums rather than individual tracks.

Bowie and I have shared many musical adventures.
The Musical Adventures of David Bowie!

johnny cash - hurt
This. In comparison, the original sounds like simple, cringe-worthy teenage angst. Cash put his soul into that song, probably knowing he was on the verge of death, and made it his own.
Bullshit.

Biffy Clyro - Vertigo of Bliss.
Tom Waits - Bone Machine. I downloaded it cause I wanted to get into his music. Earth Died Screaming freaked me out, so I deleted. Then when I was shopping for CDs, I found it and ended up loving it.

But still man. I'm atheist and I've never seen that film. I don't want anyone to think Bill Maher is some sort of guiding point in terms of religiom.
-
For the record, Michael Cera is good in Arrested Development and nothing else.
Also, Religulous just seems too predictable. I'd rather watch the Penn and Teller episode about religion, as its the same thing done in half the time.

Speaking as someone that frequents the 18-24 college scene, I can testify to the fact that when this song comes on, everyone goes APESHIT.
As if that makes the song good. The general public has a shit taste in music,

That girl seems like a real whore.
Reminds me of that South Park episode with Paris Hilton, where Wendys dad goes to the slutty clothes shop and all the whores keep arguing about how they're empowering women.

Thats it! Back to Winnipeg!

I can't get into the Beach Boys.

New decade, how bout some new bands?
What was wrong with the last one? There were plenty great bands.
Kasabian, The Hold Steady, Arctic Monkeys, The White Stripes, Biffy Clyro, Drive-By Truckers, The Gaslight Anthem, The Raconteurs, Down, Them Crooked Vultures, Lamb Of God, The Dead Weather, Velvet Revolver, Kings Of Leon, Glasvegas, Marina & The Diamonds, Pendulum, Muse, Mastadon, The Killers, Lady Gaga, Twisted Wheel, Lily Allen, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Wolfmother, The Strokes, Reverend & The Makers, David Holmes, Fu Manchu, Boris, Stereophonics, The Libertines, The Enemy, Eminem, Babyshambles, The Answer, Opeth, The Sword, Snow Patrol, The Parlor Mob, The Zico Chain, Year Long Disaster, MGMT, The Last Shadow Puppets, Jay-Z, Joe Bonamassa, Fleet Foxes, Coldplay, Amorphous Androgynous, Pink Martini, Black Stone Cherry, Dirty Pretty Things, Eagles Of Death Metal, Jet, The Angels, The Fray, Avenged Sevenfold, KT Tunstall, Ryan Adams, Loaded, The Darkness, Gallows and probably a lot more I'm forgetting.
didn't bother reading through everything on that huge list, but I did see Jay-Z & he's not from the 2000s....started in the 80s. And now I see Ryan Adams, isn't he 90s?
I will agree with Fleet Foxes, and I'll add Grizzly Bear & Bon Iver.
Ryan Adams debut solo album was out in 2000.

I'm white and I fully understand where this music is coming from but I think it sucks and there's way "hotter" shit happening out there than this
is that allowed?
I doubt you even listened to it.
The WHOLE THING? nah, but I Iistened to enough to know that it isn't anything special even in R&B and hip hop. Oh, its yah Birthday, we don't buy no dranks at the bar, we buy champagne cause we got that dough? Wow thats really original, pop/R&B artists talking about their money, how intriguing. Almost as intriguing as the lame ass bubble gum backing music. This is a textbook radio single, a pretty half ass one at that, the hook isn't even catchy. You won't even be listening to this a few weeks from now, so who gives a shit? Do you still listen to that Soulja boy "Got my Swag on" bullshit you posted a few months ago when that was "hot"? I sure hope not!
I just think if music doesn't have a chance of standing the test of time why even make it? Shitty expendable flavor of the week cancer music like this just really gets on my nerves
inb4 Sunny accuses you of being racist.

Hip hop has become so republican.

I'm more into post-folk-punk.

YASS!!!

I'd say real music fans don't buy as much music.
I'd say that's a pretty screwed up thing to say and a baseless assumption.
Not really.
I'd say so.
Cool.

The Bends is a great rock album. OK Computer is more challenging, but it is still a fantastic album.
