Something doesn't make sense.  They really only get 14% or less of the gross?  I know that the production is expensive and  they have to rent the venues but 14% seems a bit low.

Granted, even if this is accurate and taking into account the crazy California state income tax, they'll still end up with over $7 million each for the year.  I'll take that to get a free trip around the country/world and rehearse/perform once every 2 or 3 days for a few months at a time!  If only I had any musical talent!

I read an article yesterday that, when you apply their 'general tour economics' would net Axl, Slash & Duff around $42MM each.

Maybe Billboard chooses to name them once as a group, but based on their individual earnings, instead of letting them take up three spots in the top ten?

I'm sure every artist/their publicist wants to make this list and it would definitely appeal to a broader audience if more artists are on the list.

Here is the article I am referencing: https://www.theguardian.com/music/2017/jan/30/where-does-concert-ticket-money-go

I can't vouch for the accuracy of their generalities and I also should note that this is a very basic breakdown of how tour revenue is broken down. Not specific to Guns or their deal with Live Nation at all.

  2. They are definetely planning, at the least, a DVD for the NITL tour.

Brett Ratner was scheduled to shoot the Dodger Stadium shows last august but fell out a week or so prior due to internal issues at his film financing entity.

If I had to guess they're going to do a docu-series on the band using all the Illusions era footage that Axl owns.

That would be a global docu series that Netflix, Amazon, etc would chase.

I know about Brett with second hand certainty.

I work in the film/TV biz and am guessing that they're smart enough to make a docu-series. That is in no way shape or form confirmed - just my suspicion.

  3. Nightrain and Rocket Queen are my most played and likely most enjoyed. I saw the London night 2 show...when Axl came out in the Union Jack top hat and leather jacket my fucking god. Epic

but a powerful sense of youth, nostalgia for the good days, and hope for the future completely overtakes me when Paradise City (unexpectedly) comes on. There's a powerful serum in there that puts it in a more religious category of songs for me.

 Are you new to the internet? I typed in Melissa Reese age and it comes up instantly that she's 32. Born March 1, 1985. Our definition of "IMPOSSIBLE" must be very different.

    FACE TO PALM

As of a few days ago that info was NOT on the net

Keep your eyes open folks.  I was able score GA tix to The Forum show for $350 (total price) each!  Just happened to come across them on eBay.  The reason I pulled the trigger is because I already had a Staples ticket (GA purchased through the fan club believe it or not) and in order to start making plans I needed to know if I could get The Forum as well.  Just how I am.  Hopefully for you guys they will start selling GA tix soon on Ticketmaster.  :headbang:

Wow that's a fucking steal. I was pondering buying a GA slash side at 550 from ticketmaster but they sold out.

fingers crossed that they'll open up some new tix on ticketmaster

There can only be one....and it comes from that epic Houston gig:

In all fairness though that Detroit is pretty epic and it may well give Houston a run for its money actually!

PS 3.17-3.19 is IMO THE most epic moment of the tour so far for Axl! Amazing (and he does do a similar thing in Detroit interestingly)

And people COMPLAIN about this tour

FUCK we are lucky. Troubadour (from outside the building ?),  Dodger nights 1 & 2, London night 2. Should be hitting St Louis, Denver, Vancouver, Staples &.....THE FORUM.

Counting my blessings every time. NITL rocks and fuck every fan who's too caught up in their idealism to realize how insane it is that these guys are back.

Livenation was never going to financially back & insure Steven & Izzy. It's a fucking shame that izzy isn't there, I haven't forgotten that, but I'm not going to overlook the momentary blessing from the rock gods that somehow got these guys all back on the same stage

  7. I, like many of you, have mixed feelings about CD. On one hand I love a lot of the songs and on the other can't stand some of the choices (esp how over produced it is).

No idea what is coming next but how would you feel about a remastered version of Chinese Democracy with Slash and Duff added in? I'd be curious how much that trio could accomplish with some of the amazing canvases they could color...

Madagascar, Sorry, This I Love, Better, Street of Dreams, If The World....

Also wonder if they were to do three or four new tracks, would they supplement with rerecords of some of the better CD songs?

I for one would welcome it. ?

    Just a thought.

I've seen two LIVE concerts from AXL/DC & NITLT tours and I still can recall quite clearly the new Gn'R era two concerts too that I attended in '06 and '10. I'm entitled to my opinion but btw where do you see Axl legendary grit, improvising (even the setlist) and just interacting much with Duff or Slash on stage these days...?

I think it's absurd to extrapolate all of your conclusions based off seeing four shows

None of us know what's actually going on. I'm just grateful that it's happening despite the imperfections

Fernando posted an insta story of him today flying solo to NYC. the day of a show.. Caption "quick trip to nyc"

THAT is much more indicative of things happening to me than any fan's interpretation of a show

i wish people on this forum would be less emotional and more strategic in their analysis and information gathering...

  9. As far as new music, new live songs, I'm not expecting much really, it seems that Axl is no that passionate anymore about music and performing these days, more focused on playing it safe and pilling up the millions (and the pounds)... Oh well...

True but after having seen UYI gigs then new Gn'R and finally the NITL gig, I cannot see that Axl is that passionate anymore about Gn'R. He seemed to me much more into the AXL/DC gig to be honest, both physically and especially vocally.

You saw two concerts and some footage from AXL/DC and are declaring that Axl is no longer passionate about the music or performing?

The members of this forum ?

If AXL/DC runs its course and GNR goes no further than NITL (or eventually runs its course) I can only see Axl solo performing under his name and maybe even releasing music that way. This is my SPECULATION.

Does any demos exist of Estranged? I'm aware of that fake "piano" one that's been around for years, but I'm just wondering if there is any genuine demos around? Estranged & Coma are my fave G N' R songs! i already have that bootleg "Axls Advance Copy" with the Use Your Illusion demos on it, here is the link  https://www.dropbox.com/sh/oj8kqduip.../UBwevVIH3m?m=   if anyone doesn't have it

major thank you for posting a WORKING and simple way to download these tracks. I don't have axls advance just want to say thanks.

  11. Edit -

god damn it let's just get an axl dc album and a few new gnr tracks & do a co headline tour

also I know Brett rattner was supposed to film their dodger shows so I have to think it's part of a  documentary they're putting together? No way they'd get someone of his caliber to shoot it (also to be clear he had to drop out last min)

    Axl back with Axl/DC.

    Slash back to SMKC.

Duff will do guest spots with randoms, write articles and swim Scrooge McDuck style in his piles of money.

Duff and Slash will do interviews again but talk very vaguely about NITL. "It was great! Next question!."

No new music. There's no money in it and no one but us cares about it. For most of the people going to the shows, CD tunes are new music.

More than likely, the rumors were correct and Slash and Duff's contracts are up in 2017 which is why they keep adding shows and packing the schedule. Maybe far in the future they will sign up to do a few festivals with Axl. But there will be a very lengthy break.

    Maybe, maybe  a DVD.

Can you expand on the rumors surrounding Duff/Slash contracts or provide a source? Thanks!

I would hold on. I took part in all pre sales including Nightrain and Pit tickets were not available. I don't know anyone that was able to pull pit tickets at the $250 price tag they are supposed to be going for. A week ago those PIT tickets were going for $1000 and just today they went down to  $500. There's a catch though, they can only be bought in pairs

The whole platinum thing is a scam and TM scalping their own tickets.

Another thing you can do is try calling ticketmaster to see if they can help you out. I called to exchange my ticket tonight, lucked out and got a GNR fan helping me. I got my ticket exchanged for row 4 when I paid about half of what that ticket should've been. Or if they have any citi preferred tickets available that you want, use code 412800 to bypass the citicard and that should get you in.

Great advice thanks guys. Holding off for now but no way I'm missing this show. Can't f'ing wait. I was first row slash side London night 2. It was fucking insane in the best way possible. I've seen them four times on NITL and they're picking up steam.

All his GNR performances are shit. GNR fans think his voice sounds great on black on sun for example when its a disaster.  Axl goes on full on mickey for GNR which is pitiful. And people love to use the bullshit excuse that AC DC songs are easier to sing.  Axl could easily go full on rasp for SCOM like he used toin the 90s but he choices to do Mickey.

So much hate. Yes different but a disaster? Grow up ?
