No one said Axl and Slash need Izzy to produce great music but his role in the band was important. Thank you Izzy for Out Ta Get Me, You Could Be Mine, My Michelle, Nightrain, Don't Cry which got the band signed, 14 years, Pretty Tied Up, etc.
Thank you Axl, Slash and Duff for rearranging Izzy's boring and generic tunes. Ask yourself one question: why not even one Izzy solo song doesn't sound like real GNR?

From a newly released Slash interview (but actually older than the one in the OP of this thread, as it was recorded in April, so probably before he went to Axl's house):

Rock Cellar: You recently made news. You said in an interview a month or so ago, there’s probably enough songs for a new Guns N’ Roses album, is that true?
Slash: No, you know, by the time it gets to the place where anybody’s read it, it’s morphed into something more than what I directly said. There is material that Axl’s been working on for a while. It could be enough for a record if we put it all together.
The whole thing of Guns N’ Roses getting in the studio and getting this record done — with myself and with Duff (McKagan) and all that — it’s really just getting started. So it’s really hard to say.
Everybody’s got demos, and everybody’s got material, and this that and the other, for whatever it could be. It’s just a matter of us focusing on it.
So it’s really hard to answer questions on the next Guns thing.Fuck those guys, I'm done with them.

Thank you Izzy for Locomotive, Coma, Estranged, Civil War, Breakdown, The Garden, Don't Damn Me, etc. And for helping Slash with Ain't Life Grand, Beggars and Hangers-on, Serial Killer, By the Sword etc. They're all so shit without the mighty Izzy.

I'm sure there are some women that would let GNR members use them as sex objects because of the "conquest" of hooking up with a rich and famous rock star. I'm sure all equivalently popular young artists these days have plenty of "woke," "me too era" girls that are just like the groupies in the 80's were for GNR.
I never have looked at a girl/woman as a sex toy but I also never had and never will have a bunch of attractive females falling over themselves to have sex with me. If I was in that position and in my 20s, I could easily see myself taking advantage. It's not about how some men (specifically GNR members) feel or felt about women. It's just a matter of what kind of environment they were in and, when you are in your 20's and "it's so easy" to live out all kinds of sexual fantasies, not many men will resist it.
Trust me, women also love to use men. I see nothing wrong about that.

Makes perfect sense. They can't recreate Appetite sound without Izzy and Stevie. Move along, gentlemen.

What's "Trumpish" in old GnR lyrics??? I thought, if anyone, its conservatives who should be outraged by GnR (except OIAM, I totally get why this track is offensive)...
Aren't conservatives the religious, family oriented ones, who would considered band openly singing about drinking and and drug addiction as bunch of degenerates who are threat to public morality, and bad influence on youth??? At least in my country it goes that way...
Conservatives say one thing and do another.

It's still political because some verses take the side of all humans involved in a war, especially those who are damaged by it.
That's a political stance, even if during that Indiana show, Axl backpedals on the lyrics to support the government
Taking the side of victims is empathic, not political. At least for me.

How can you not see anything political in 'Civil War'?
It is heavily politically charged with the mention of Kennedy's assassination, Vietnam War, "your power hungry selling soldiers...", "carry the cross of homicide"....
But just like with other songs, the band oftenly backpedal on the motivation of their lyrics.... Not sure why this happens though.
Axl: "We dedicate that to all the military people that are here tonight. I think anybody in their right mind, anybody that has a brain at all, wasn't too excited with the concept of going to war but once we are in it, I think you're a fucking asshole not to fucking root for our side!".... "I mean I met all this people 'we shouldn't be having a fucking war'.... well, it's too late asshole!"
By 1991, there was the Gulf War going on, led by the USA with a coalition of nations against Irak.
Johnson killed Kennedy, Nixon ended the Vietnam war... It's really pro-Republican.
But seriously, by political I mean when you take one side. 'Civil War' is above all that bullshit.

You know how irony does (not) work in writing?! Whatever.
Sorry it hurt you that bad. Who are the bastards who say Germans have no sense of humor? How they dare to?

Definitely "Back and Forth Again" and the self-titled number from Ain't Life Grand.

Not really! He's comparing Iron Maiden to a political organisation in terms of how they operate, not saying he doesn't like politics in music. They wrote Civil War not long after this, so have always been somewhat political. More so now of course, but these are fucked up times, so it would be surprising if they weren't.
I'm sorry, but I don't see anything political in 'Civil War'. That's just an anti-war song, they don't call anyone up. That's why it's so powerful, because it's sincere and without any agenda.

I wasn’t expecting you to explain a statement made by Duff in 2019 by any quote Kurt Cobain did 25-30 years agao
Glad you didn't take it too seriously.

it was never grimey enough, I like how it was depicted in T1. By the time genesys came around it looked like the resistance had gyms down in the underground.

Which album did Axl, Slash, and Duff release by themselves that gives you this confidence in them? Did you like 'The Spaghetti Incident' and you're hoping they do another covers album together?
I'm not surprised you piss all over Snakepit albums, Slash 2010 album and "Dark Days". But I have one question, which Izzy number from his 10 albums does sound like GNR? Name me one.

I don't think it would be hopping on a bandwagon though as much as it would be railing against a person they deem ill-fitted for the job as leader of the free nation, no?
Are there any free nations in the world? Yours isn't, since you have publicly executed your own president 50 years ago.

The Salton Sea (2002) by D.J. Caruso
Cast: Val Kilmer, Vincent D'Onofrio, Peter Sarsgaard, Doug Hutchison, Anthony LaPaglia, Deborah Kara Unger, Glenn Plummer, Chandra West, Luis Guzman, Adam Goldberg, Danny Trejo
Cinematography: Amir Mokri
Music: Thomas Newman
Another criminally overlooked masterpiece. Brilliant acting, great story, beautifully filmed, flawless direction and music.
Like all the great movies, this one is not what it seems to be. There are many layers in this movie. Sure, it's about tweakers, but it's also about friendship, revenge, lost love. It's about looking for your place in the world. And it's fucking entertaining. And accurate.
