For now Guns N' Roses are Axl, Slash and Duff. The rest are hired hands. I'm fine about that.

We're a little too harsh on Duff. God, the man is a father of two growing daughters. Maybe he has in mind Oscar Wilde's words: "Children begin by loving their parents. As they grow older they judge them. Sometimes they forgive them." Or he wants to make sure no one else calls him Republican, like Cobain did. Or he's become dickless.

On the other hand, there's nothing wrong about being young and horny. And there's nothing wrong about rough sex, when it's consensual. Sometimes you say "come here, you bitch", sometimes she yells at you "you useless piece of meat", and that's fucking hot!

Anyway, we have the right to call Duff spineless (again), and he has his reasons to act like he does. Pretty shitty situation. Oh wait, it's Guns N' Roses.

Mr. Dizzy fucking Reed - the man, the myth, the legend. He saved that band, he elevated them from mediocrity to greatness. His brilliant playing literally made 'Get in the Ring' work. Fuck, he made that band work after all the chaos that surrounded them. Dizzy's a genius, he's better than Herbie Hancock. All hail Dizzy!

The only difference is Guns didn't look like a bunch of pussies and posers. But I've always thought it's about music, not looks. Musically Guns were totally exceptional and one of a kind.

Marc Canter said at least three of the Snakepit songs were supposed to be GNR songs originally. And we have evidence that This I Love and Fall To Pieces come from that time period too. Then there’s the tape of a handful of songs that Duff and Izzy did in 1995 (Down By the Ocean is the only one from there that we know by name).

Gilby said all of the songs from his first solo record were originally songs he offered to GNR (they rejected all of them) except Cure Me Or Kill Me, cause he hadn’t written that one yet.

Also, there’s some speculation that Scent Of A Woman (assuming it’s even real) comes from the Zakk Wylde sessions. And Axl said once that Oh My God was apparently in its early stages when Duff and Matt were still around (but not Slash). 

I wonder if other ChiDem songs that Paul or Dizzy wrote (The Blues, TWAT, Catcher, and IRS) were already around at that point too or not.
