  1. why in the bloody hell doesnt axl make up a better intro???? i mean when he did that lil asshole song thing in 02, that was great...and back in the 90s he did the its alright... awesome!!!

so why doesnt he just make up some sort of kick ass intro??? hell play a lil classical to warm up or something like that.... but i think he really does need to fix up the intro to a signature song!!!

    what r ur thoughts???

How do you know it isn't a clip from a new song? mayhaps it's This I Love w/o the vocals...

  2. I'm not going to read all this..but I gotta know; is Warchild still trying to lead people to believe he's Axl w/o explicitly saying it? What's it been now..a year!?

He damn well better be Axl because "subtely" dropping many facts about yourself that coincide with Axl's life and behavior is very sad; whether they're true or not. Actually, if they are all in fact true it's even sadder because it means there's some form of idol worship going on. Come on man, didn't you get the message your idol was saying by wearing Charlie Manson AND Christ shirts on the same tour. Don't worship him as a god or crucify him as pure evil.

  3. I absolutely love Ax's ad libbed harmony parts to KOHD during the hammerstein shows.....and also in 2002, even though they were different then still.

As far as live and let die...it's decent..wouldnt mind if Civil War or something was played insetad, but I love hearing it. Also like Axl's aformentioned super long screams he did in 2002....they were there somewhat at the recent shows..but not as long..but the tour just started so we'll see.

  4. It's Axl. 90% sure. Sounds like the chorus too......hard to tell obviously from a 20 second clip, but it has potential and at least it's another rocker. (not that I mind the more ballady type songs-TWAT and Madagascar blew me away..it's just the album needs more balance.)

  5. I noticed that he doesn't wear that ear piece no more.......like in 2002 tour.

Actually he does still have it, he just wears a see-through one so it's harder to notice.

And I don't think that Rocket Queen clip sounds like "old Axl" or whatever. It's good but it has a very forced, shot rasp to it.

For Sunday's show at least he left one of them hang out of his ear. During Jungle he kept motioning to the back to turn them up, when he finally had a chance to go back there during the bridge in Jungle he came back out, pulled out one side and left it like that. And he made a comment after WTTJ eded that went something like "you guys are so loud I couldn't even hear myself."

  6. did Axl actually sing the "i would do anything for you.. there was a time" lines over the guitar during "TWAT"?

I can only hear guitar on the recordings... I'm hoping he sings those lines 'cause they're breathtaking.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.....I love that part and hope he sings it on Sunday. I think it was kaneda's post where he mentioned that he skipped certian parts of songs, which i dont mind, just hope he does sing the majority of that part of TWAT next time, if he didnt Friday.

  7. It's already 7:30 NYC time and there hasn't been any mention in this thread of how the line progressed....how early did people start showing up? Was the line HUGE by 6 their time? I was going to judge when to get inline sunday based on this.

    its 7.23

Thanks Mr Ireland time zone, but i was rounding. Im sdtill surprised we didnt hear back at noon or 2 or 4 or 6 how big the line was at various points...

  8. I really don't think it'll be necessary to get there insanely early. An hour or so before the opening door time should suffice espeically if you'd be good with the first few "rows" of people....there really isnt much of a difference between the very very front and 8 feet or a efw rows behind it. Plus keep in mind there will only be a little over a thousand people in the floor section, with alot of them not even taking their places until AFTER the opening band is done..which could be 9 PM easily.

I mentioned on another board that the Velvet Revolver concert I went to in Chicago in October of '04 had GA floor at it. It was at the Allstate Arena, whose floor is essentially the hockey rink that the wolves play on...meaning its very large. And even with the around 6,000 fans who had floor tickets I was able to get what was essentially 2nd row arriving just 30 minutes before doors opened. So if you think about it, theres a 6th of the people at this show but some will be more dedicated..which means it should balance out to be about the same wait for similar positions.

  9. why's everybody ripping on this band? yes, they're not guns n roses. no shit. nobody is. just be thankful that any band that you've ever heard of is willing to go on in front of a band who's cronic absences have caused rioting and destruction of arenas across the country. I really don't think booing them for absolutely no reason is going to help the morale of the crowd. shut the fuck up. you've waited 14 years, you can wait 2 more hours.

The problem is not waiting 2 hours the problem is having a really shitty opener when they used to have bands like Soundgarden.

I'm realising on the bright side though that we could make a game of booing them off. See which night they get booed off the fastest.

So just consider like having no opener..which I was 99% of people thought as of 24 hours ago. Plus, if your trying to get better Mezz seats or floor spots this might discourage some from hanging around there early and instead getting some drinks and such.

  10. Let's see, we've gone almost 4 years with no news, that's over a thousand days with NOTHING. Now all we have to do is wait 10 days for answers, so why are we spending these last 10 days acting like a bunch of morons that have forgotten every lesson from the past when it comes to GNR!!!

Please, for the next 10 days can we stop:

    1. Speculating Slash will return, he won't, get over it, this is Axl's GNR now and support it or leave it.

    2. Speculating about a full reunion: This is the dumbest logic ever, to think that Axl's opus, the one he has worked on for 14 years with new members, will dissipate and he will invite the old guys back to share in his glory is fucking ludicrous thinking.

    3. Wondering what Axl will wear; this is about as pointless as you all wondering what I am going to wear tomorrow. When he takes the stage, we'll see, nuff said.

    4. Guessing the set list: Again, what good will this do? Like will some retards on here go to the show and be like, "I WAS RIGHT, MY SET LIST ORDER WAS RIGHT!"

    5. Complaining about the opening act: WHO GIVES A SHIT about the opening act? If Alvin and Chipmunks were the opening act to Guns N Roses, I wouldn't care. I bet Axl doesn't even book, nor care, about the opening act for these warm up gigs. Like somebody's going to go, "This opening act sucks, I am leaving, fuck GNR!"

I swear to god, you just can't please GUNS N ROSES fans at all. They go years with silence, and then their dreams of Axl taking the stage again come true and all they do is bitch and speculate, bitch and speculate. Look, for the next 10 days, if you don't have some credible news or a decent discussion topic, please, do us all a favor and SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!

I swear if I see a thread like: "What if Axl takes the wrong subway and misses the show" I am going to reach through my computer monitor and kill someone!

Or you could just not read it...

It's the first big big news in fucking years and you want people not to speculate!? ITS'S WHAT PEOPLE DO! I've seen people on this board complain when people discuss odd topics in times of no news now I;ve seen people complain about discussing things when there is news. Wow. Just amazing...

  11. I'm sure if GNR offers you to open for them you take it and cancel your other shows. So I imagine with it just being announced today this is what happened. I was REALLy hoping for Avenge Sevefold..but oh well. I dont really care who the opening band is as long as GNR have enough time to play a decently long set.

  12. People -

There is a 11:00pm(est) curfew at the Hammerstein Ballroom.

A curfew means that all the staff provided by Manhattan Center Studios (ushers, cleanup, electricians, etc. . .) need the place vacated in order to breakdown and clean up. The longer the crowd stays inside the longer the workers have to stay and be paid. And the owners of the venue CONTRACTUALLY refuse to pay for this. It is common knowledge in the music biz that if you break curfew penalties will be incurred. And beileve me they are hefty fines. We all know axl can afford it but I personally dont think he will go on late. i think it will be a planned "late" Meaning- if there is a opening band make them go on asap then make the crowd wait until the last minute so he can perform a full show in the time alloted to him. I have heard that if you break curfew at various NY venues prices ranging in the 10'S OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ALL THE WAY TO OVER 300 HUNDRED THOUSAND FOR MADISON SQUARE GARDEN - AND THATS PER HOUR!!!! It cost alot of money to put on major entertainment events. I would definitly say that they will go on at 9:30est - 11:00est. Best case scenario 9est -11est

    In summation

The band will begin at between 9:05est - 9:35est. (once a band is notified at 9pm to go on stage it takes a couple minutes to walk through the hallways. maybe take a quick piss or a quick sniff :)

So if they start at 9:30...it would only be an hour and a half concert? That fucking sucks.....the 2002 concerts were over 2 hours each, and still left me wanting more...and that's w.o the new songs...
