I seriously doubt the ordinance applies to the Hammerstein or MSG. I sat through a torturous Bon Jovi performance at the Hammerstein on the County Channel yesterday so I could check out the venue. Looks very wide with a big stage and not deep at all. I hope there's an Axl rant regarding Bon Jovi's comments about him.

If I'm reading this right your saying the stage is fairly wide, and that the floor audience isn't too deep? This wouldnt be bad, because there would be a large portion of the crowd that could have essentialy 1-3 rows.....and the way Axl moves around he'd be driectly in front of them a good chunk of the time. If you had to guestimate how many "rows" of people did the floor look like it holds? (I know their not strict "rows" in the normal sense since it's GA w/o seats) If each portion of the tickets sold holds a little over a 1,000 (Mezz1, Mezz2, and Floor) you would only have about 1,000 people gunning (pun inteded) for the best floor posit's. Most likely though, the mezzanine's each only hold 500 or so each, and the floor wil hold about 2,000.

I didnt get mine yet. I ordered them from stubhub on the 27th.

They sent me an E-mail stateing that they weerent printed yet and will be on the 5th or 6th which confuses me becasue several people have gotten their tickets.

I wouldn't worry...from what I've read, although I've never used stubhub before, they gauruntee you'll get them before the concert by a couple days or they'll find you equal or better tickets to it then.

Where do you live, and did you buy your tix on last Thursday or Friday? I'm in Chicago and ordered mine last Friday, got the email from ticketmaster Wednesday that they were "printed and shipped" but didn't get them Saturday so I'm expecting them tomorrow. I'm not going to be overly concerned for a couple more days...

If I had to guess, I'd say before 11 each night with slightly varying start times. If it's a 2 hour set like it was ebfore that'd give you half an hour to get to Penn Station...

I couldn't tell if this was a fuck up or not whn I first saw it. Axl does seem to start singing the song a little late...so who knows. It does sound kinda cool though the way it worked out. Either way, I doubt he'll be singing this on this new tour

btw, try to avoid taking cabs while you're in Manhattan during the day because the traffic is atrocious, which means it will take you forever to get anywhere in a cab and will cost you a fortune while you're sitting in the traffic. The subways are the way to go - during the day. They're fast and extremely safe.

What about to/from Laguardia? I don't think theres a subway stop that goes to out to there....so I'm assuming Ill have to take a cab to/from. Sunday morning when my flight gets in traffic shouldnt be that bad, but I'll be taking a cab back to laguardia Monday afternoon to catch my 7:40 PM flight.....I'm thinking Monday around 5 traffic will be bad..how long should I budget to get back to Laguardia from Manhattan? Any help is greatly appreciated..

I don't mean to scare ya man....but I almost booked this place ebfore I read the reviews on yahoo. I'm only looking for a clean bed a s ashower that works....but when 90% of the yahoo reviews say "worst htoel ever" and then list the grsuome things wrong with it I believe them. I'm still looking for something decent close by, either within walking distance or a cheap cab ride, for about 150 a night before taxes. Any ideas anyone? I have the regency booked now at 175 total after taxes...but the reviews for that sound only slightly betetr than Carter.

It's the only logical way for a band to know that 95% of their tickets are getting to the true fans. If a broker is a regular poster on 100 different band's message boards just in case something like this happens then more power to them. i think it's extremely unlikely. And what kind of "super fan" doesn't like discussin the band they love? It IS discrimination, which isn't a bad thing all the time..in this case it's a good thing.

The one thing that pissed me off was the fact that people were being assholes about the password. This is a GNR concert and we all know the chances of getting tickets going through the general public is next to nothing. I had to waste half an hour searching the internet just to find the damn password. Luckily me and my buddy found it somewhere.

Right now I'm going to every show with my gf. Normally I wouldn't go to more than 1 show a week much less 4 but this whole presale thing pissed me off so much I decided that I'm going to have a great time at the expense of the assholes out there that refuse to hook people up with tickets even though they have the password. Between me and some of my buddies we bought about 70 tickets. Now before everybody starts having a period I just want to let you know that my tickets at least are accounted for. Whatever my buddies do with their tickets is their business. I have no idea what they're going to do with their tickets. It's none of my business. I don't know and I sure as hell don't give a flying fuck.

Personally, I just don't think it was fair that there was a presale for the show. It should have been general public sale all the way through just to make it fair. If I was 5 years younger I'd scalp out of spite. I just think presales suck and I definitely appreciate the fact that if I wasn't able to get the password there was at least some people here willing to hook me up. Sleep on the plane on your way there. Go to the concert and party all night from bar to bar. Go back to the airport and sleep until your flight. Sleep on the way back. Its gonna be awesome!

I was considering this at first, but I ended up booking a evening flight on Monday so I could see some of NY before I leave. It'd be a shame to go to NY for the first time from Chicago and not do nething but the concert. With a hotel a block from Hammerstein I'll be able to drink until whenever and then pass out in my hotel, wake up for about 8 hours of NYC site seeing.

Hows the area around MSG/Hammerstein? I've got the regency Inn booked for 150 b4 tax which is a block away from the hammerstein. I'd like to think with 3,000 people filing out of the building at 1 or whenevr the show ends it will be safe to walk a block.i don't need anything great..I'll just be sleeping there sunday night afterthe show until around 9. So For 8 hours it doesnt need to be great, just semi-clean and safe.

The thing is that Hotels around Laguardia are about double that of what they are by the Newark airport (140 compared to 70.) And the flights are about 12 bucks more. So it still might be cheaper. If I'm flying in the morning of a show I dont think it would take me more than an hour or 2 to get into Manhattan from Newark would it? What about back to Newark after the show? (Around 12 or 1 I'd assume) That couldnt be too long either I would think...
