  1. *waits for lumiere to start bitching*

Funnily enough, I was about to say *Waits for Username to post pretentious crap* but, yeah. My thoughts:

    Brain Damage / Eclipse

Two incredible songs. Brain Damage has an incredible chorus, and Eclipse is the epitome of catharsis. The purging of all emotion. Also the only songs on DSOTM that Rog sings.

    Shine On You Crazy Diamond

Genius, the clear highlight of the exceedingly overrated WYWH LP. I think it's definitely one of Floyd's greatest tracks.

    Echoes

My favourite Floyd track, I think....

    Bike

Fun little nursery rhyme-esque track. I think it's unbearably cute (like The Gnome), and fairly avant-garde and innovative for the time.

    Dogs

Fuck Echoes, this is the stuff dreams are made of. Biting lyrics, Gilmour's best solos...my, my, my.

    Pigs (three different ones)

    Incredible bassline. Another favourite.

    Interstellar Overdrive

Interstellar Overdrive is one of the most insane things ever recorded, and it's entirely improvised. Madness.

    Time

Obvious choice, really. The segue into Breathe Reprise is superb.

    Money

I like it, but it strikes me as worryingly simple compared to Time and Great Gig In The Sky.

    Astronomy Dominé

More acid tinged madness from Mr. Syd. Love it.

    Pigs On The Wing

I just love Animals. Not amazing songs in their own right, but great acoustic bookends. Rog may not have had an amazing way with melodies, but he could write superb acoustic ditties.

    Comfortably Numb

    Overplayed. But decent.

    Wish You Were Here

Don't like it. Strikes me as incoherent.

    See Emily Play

Genius. The second PF single, reaches #3, PF play Top Of The Pops? Madness.

    Learning To Fly

Hmm. It's OK, I suppose. A tad synthetic.

  2. lol u two make me laugh, with all these sub genres and such

' oh no, cradle of filth are black metal!'

'no there not there slightly black mixed with a little death'

'oh no, but there is alittle grindcore metal'

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

COF aren't Black Metal. They're not even metal. They're shite.

  3. It took a long time for me to love The Wall. It's just so unwelcoming and bleak. However, the first half/disc/vinyl is truly special, featuring some of the most concisely tight music PF have ever produced.

The second half sags, and badly.

  4. why? I think they were awesome.

One is average, one is below average.

in through the out door opens with this AWESOME song "in the evening". and then after "South Bound Saurez" Outstanding melody! awesome chorus.

Fool iin the rain, what can you say about it? One of their best tracks. then Hot Dog. I find that song very underrated. It's very good. But Carouselambra isn't taht good, definlity the worst on the album. but it's good. And so is All My Love. no, that song is Awesome! and this outstanding album ends with I'm gonna crawl. Awesome ender. I think this album had a vera nice tune. Not like the ohter albums.

You sound like an excited child describing what they did during their holidays.

In The Evening is great, Zep's final classic. South Bound Saurez is a bearable yet entirely silly pastiche. Fool In The Rain = one of the best LZ tracks? Fool In The Rain is embarassing. Hot Dog is quite possibly the worst LZ track ever. Carouselambra is a hypnotic, yet unneccesarily lengthy synth track. All My Love is a touching track about Plant's deceased son Karac, but the synths make some parts of the track sound cheesy. I'm Gonna Crawl is OK.

then Coda. that was awesome too. AWESOME! what can you say?

    Lolz0rz.

We're gonna groove!  Poor Tom ! another verision of I cant quit you baby. I think this one is better than the first. Walter's walk, In my opinion a some kind of Rocker, wich is good. Ozone baby is great., Darlene! they all ´have a really great tone on this album too, but all the songs are so different. and Bonzo's Montreux. Bonzie shows his excellent drumming skills! and last, the best song on the album Wearing And tearing. ah... ya know, ya know, ya know, ya know

    opinions?

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Coda has its highlights, but it's clear why certain tracks are outtakes.

  5. ["quote=johnezz"]Money is not a "silly pop song" your only saying that because it was released as a Single and got a fair amount of radio time

No. Money has a bassline that borders on disco, a hooky guitar, and a hooky vocal.

I like Money, but it's clearly a pop song.
