I definitely notice a difference in Monsters. The instrument separation is a lot better and the mix sounds cleaner overall.
The General is better than before but couldn't notice that much of a difference from the old leak on the first listen.
Wait there's a new monsters?
Thought only a new general (as per vinyl released) ?
😮

I've been listening to this song for weeks now, and I don't now if I still care about the official release on streaming platforms...
At least I'm still waiting for the announcement of another delay on December 8th, with The General being replaced with Absurd (acoustic)"Don't know what to tell ya now"....
😜

Never heard of that “10 Percenter” song listed on the 2000 Intention listing.
Isn't that the tommy stinson vocal track??
Which I called "save me" when I added it to my trusty ipod 😆....
As it had no name, tommy demo 2 or something like that sounds familiar?

We are at the stage of being GNR fans, discussing possible "hey heys"... only in gnr world this happens 🤦😆

I thought Slash improved Absurd and I liked his and Duff’s parts on Hard Skool. I prefer Finck on Perhaps and what I can hear on Monsters. It’s not a case of automatically preferring one guitarist over another.
Exactly this....
Of course slash an duff were OG members.. and most ppl like them, an that they're back now. That's a given an not up for debate tbh.
But that CD period, was intriguing and the songs that came from it ( and still to come) sounded great with the other guys, and should be kept with that chapter...

Love Justin hawkins rides again videos... I think he was being very kind here to gnr/axl .. as he is friends with a few of them an have toured with them many times over the years. Also a phone captured video an audio is always going to be sub par to professionally filmed show, but even he can see axl is struggling like hell singing songs live... he's not gonna come right out an say, "geez that was shite then" Lol...
I agree with him re: axl, dude.. stop running around on stage, heck sit down in that throne chair again, breathe properly an try an sing that way... cos what he does now ain't working, and the band (despite being paid well) would be pissed he's the weak link in every performance... that's a fact..
When he broke his foot an was seated, he sounded better than now... not great sure, but fark me, was better easily...
Anyways...
Juuuuuuustin hawkins rides aaaaaaaaagaaaaaaaainñnnnnnnn...
Againnnnnnnnnnnn....

It’s pretty hard to hear. It’s not a very clear recording. It was obviously recorded off a 2000s era cell phone. You can make out the structure of the sound and some of the guitars and vocals but it’s muffled and people are talking over it. From what I can hear they certainly changed the song quite a bit with the Slash and Duff re-record.
Agree with you there. Question is though, changed the song for the better or worse though? 🤔

You can't much anyway, too much crowd noise. But now monsters is out, it definitely sounds the same.

Does anyone know whether Monsters will be tagged onto The General as the b-side to Perhaps?
Make more sense that it will probs be on the atlas ep as the B side?

It sounded like Axl wanted to say more about The General, but something happened that pissed him off. He was ready to say something, then he stopped and said to someone "Can't hear a word you're saying". And then, "Alright, so this is a new song. I would like to tell you how it's a new song, but... whatever. Okay, so this is called The General.
Fernando's whipping boy... sounds like.
Axl: so this new song is about...
Fernando: (shakes his head at axl, glaring look, side of the stage)...
Axl: err, umm... ahh, okay nevermind, fine, This is the general...

Sweet ch... ok I'll stop now

Just listened to them again on headphones, the general hopefully will bury some parts and bring the orchestral parts up higher... it would make it more eerie an haunting and focused inbetween the vocal parts. Some places it just disappears or drops so quiet.

lol dude takes the time to record and upload and share to google drive so we could hear it. I say well done! Enjoy the show!
* can barely hear it, only people talking over mumbled music is what I heard that's all
But the effort was there for sure, no doubting that hey 👍

Couldn't hardly hear anything there? Also why record something with people standing so close talking loudly?
Walking over to somewhere that's quieter and recording would be good 👍

How do you guys find these songs? Not asking for a link. Just trying to sort this out! Don’t check the forum for a week and this development happens…
You just have to be online at the time. I got the link from a FB post when it all went down that day... it's just luck sometimes

It's the only downside for me that the orchestra parts aren't more prominent
+1 this!
Where the hell is the spooky violin parts that sound like a scene from a Halloween slasher film???
The intros in 06/07 orchestra parts were the bomb

I think the officially released version of hard skool is way better too. The old intro was awful lol
Rather the demo original, guitars build up on the intro is great an the drumming all through that version is the best.
Only thing about the official version is the bass line and you can actually here it, it's not buried.. like most of the CD album songs were
Plus no school bell sound.....

Hate this drip fed songs releases.... been playing general an monsters heaps but already want whatever is next.. and asap.. like an announcement of the next one (so hopefully the leakers can be ready )
Really hope it's a polished an more versed atlas, but SOG is what I'm hanging for desperately... nowwwww more than everrrrrrr... I still remember.... your naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammme... *ooft*
