Oh right, its the AFD 30th anniversary box set being one year late that lead to me mis-speaking. Which highlights how theres no reason for OIAM to even be a mandatory track on this box set
The box set is not late, this is the 30th year since Appetite was released. It's not one year late at all, it's on time.

@RONIN brought it up when he compared OIAM to UTLH. Also @Blackstar responded to it.
Thanks for confirming that you do not really qualify for this sort of debate. You can't even back up your attacks. Lame and oh.... one last thing
You brought it up when you stated that "women are still fighting for their rights", you are the only one to make that BS statement.
I know you'd like to be able to post something and then never have anyone judge the validity of that post but that's not how it works. You post shit someones going to have something to say about it.
My interest is not in women's rights, it's in people like you, PC snowflakes, attacking others and then posting nonsense like above.

This is not a thread about women's rights. It is about the song OAIM and its derivated discussion of why it was not included in the recently released AFD box set.
If you are unable to understand the basic rules of a thread, that tells me you will just make me waste my time if I decided to go on debates with you.
You do not qualify.
The mods should get that blocked function fixed for you.
You're right it's not about women's rights, not sure why you brought it up while discussing the song in the first place? Do you not understand the basic rules of a thread?

I will not take it to PM because I think DieselDaisy (or anyone else) is a person of his own, with enough brain to defend himself or explain himself or argue, counter argue and even ignore me by himself. He doesn't need a virtual rottweiler coming into his defense.
Don't talk to me anymore, I'm putting you on block, I am not interested in your ignorant comments and your silly personal attacks are utterly embarassing.
Goodbye.
Of course, you're not talking to me because you can't defend your position. You're scared and now you're going to run and hide under the guise of taking the moral high ground.

You stop the ignorance because in this department, you will lose badly. And no, women don't have equal rights in the USA, more over so black and latin women have a lot to conquer still. Besides, the USA is not the whole world and I usually tend to speak of a global situation, so sew it
2What rights do men in the USA have that women in the USA don't have?
We're talking about an English speaking band from the USA. I don't think One In a Million had much of an impact in Iraq for example.
I'm waiting to lose badly... come on, hot shot, one RIGHT men have in the USA that women do not. Just name ONE.

Uh. Huh. Really? Where's my OIAM?
I am trying to understand where DieselDaisy is coming from or what exactly bothers him. I value his opinion. I don't have the same feeling for yours, though. So you can say whatever you want, just don't get between me and the Diesel guy.
Take it to PM then (if you don't want anyone to get between you). You can peddle your white knight, PC hero nonsense, in peace. Keep fighting for those equal rights!

Because it is really hard to understand what constitutes "PC non-sense" about OIAM or about this thread, since you are just replying one liners and whinging about it. You are not being clear (at least not to me) about what bothers you, so that leaves me to think inanities about you.
I'm sorry, it's your fault!
Maybe he's sick of white knights like you judging everyone.

Women have equal rights to men in the USA, so stop the nonsense, total horseshit.

Can't argue with this at all. Why Axl would consider doing a cock rock album with Angus Young (it isn't really AC/DC anymore) when one of the main reasons that GNR broke up in the 90's is that Axl didn't want to do cock rock with Slash is beyond comprehension and would be the ultimate insult.
1I don't think it'll be any such thing, I reckon Axl's involvement will take it back to the Bon Scott days, I don't think Angus is going to be writing lyrics for Axl, I think he's too smart to do that.

I know their media blackout or whatever is nothing new, but isn't it kind of weird to put something like this out and have nothing to say about it? I mean, letting the tour speak for itself is one thing, but to be selling a one thousand dollar box set and have nothing to say about what's on it, why it's good. why anyone should care...etc. Just a couple of instagram posts that don't really say anything. Just basically 'here's a thing. buy it'. I can't tell if it's arrogant or weirdly detached or both.
Not sure what needs to be said? It's quite clear what it is and what it's for. They don't need to say anything to sell it. They'll probably say something at some point I imagine like it was cool going through the archives or whatever, but can't imagine much more than that. The fact is, the members of GN'R don't need to do interviews or say anything to sell a tour or an album.

I reckon Guns should just make animation videos from here on out, really suits their style and I think they pretty much all hate being in videos at this point.

I think I read on the official GN'R site that the BluRay has "animations" (lyric videos im assuming) for all the AFD and Lies songs, as well as the two Clink bonus tracks.
is that true? If so, im kinda surprised we haven't really talked about that yet.
EDIT: also, does anyone know if the iTunes version of the super deluxe package also comes with the animations and 5.1 mixes from the bluray? As well as scans of the new 96-page picture book?
I like the current lyric video, so looking forward to them!

Lyric videos are always lame. Pretty sad that they decided to this the easy way. They've should done the video like WTTJ & ISE from Live Era was, a cool live clips.
Who says that won't happen later? Lyric videos are usually released first and are then followed up with the real video later on. Why don't you wait a little before labeling it the "easy way".

Check out this for example. Song is old as shit too, lyrics video is simple but it has the actual style used by Oasis. Not random litho stolen from Iron Maiden
If anything less effort has gone into that than the GN'R one. Don't see your point. Iron Maiden? GN'R have always used skulls and skeletons (Iron Maiden, not so much).

Yeah but the animation is poorly done and just repeated on loop.
The animation is not poorly done... it supposed to look like that, that's the style of it. If you don't like it, cool, but it's just a lyric video and it does its job. It presents the lyrics in a non-distracting way. It does what it's supposed to do. Comparing a lyric video to anything else in their catalog is like comparing Jungle to a ringtone.

Your son is correct. The video is lame as fuck.
It's a lyric video, you're supposed to watch it and read the lyrics. It's not supposed to be November Rain part 2.

And a hell of a lot of money for what it is.
Is it? I won't be buying it, I don't collect things like that, but it looks pretty good to me. Only thing is, unreleased music wise, it's the most boring era for the band. No that interested in demos, some completely unheard tracks would be great.

i do too, but I love AFD and Lies too, but I’d compromise if having an Illusions only setlist got rid of the CD stuff!
The CD stuff is fucking great!

Thank you! That is insane!
It's not even a real price, wait and see what it costs, no one knows. The $650 is made up, if it's right, it's a hell of a guess.

I have nothing against the reissue, just the way it's presented. They are making it out to be this great thing. Something they should be congratulated on. Something that willl fullfill all the fans's wishes. When it is just more of the same. Rehashing the past, resting on old laurels and cashing in on the past. And they do that with a grandiose mystery campaign that gets people more to talk about it than they should. And really, with that price tag and it being limited, at least the super-duper box set, only a few will get their hands on it anyways. I prefer the low key ways other bands release their reissues.
Low key releases? Hahah, yeah, selling music is not a business after all, right? Let's take a profit cut so we don't offend some dunce on the internet with our marketing efforts

The point Tonto is that the setlist should be comprised entirely of Illusion songs.
Why in the world of fuck should the setlist be comprised of entirely Illusion songs?

they did not call adler and izzy for the "reunion", but they can bill more with these boxes, with photos and materials containing adler and izzy.
hypocrites4They should just remove them from history, right? Not include them in the box set? You do know Izzy and Adler are getting paid for this release? Well, nevermind, you don't like it.
They called both Izzy and Adler for the reunion, by the way, so get your facts straight.

It's not been 31 years since Appetite was released, that's a fact. It will be 31 years in July, this is the 30th year since appetite was released. It's only maths mate, don't let it stress you out.
