That would all be awesome. However it's prob more complicated than we think to say it. We'll see what happens with new material. It just never made sense timing wise to release anything with this tour. The next tour? Maybe it does as it could help promote it. They just didn't need any help with the reunion being the driving force. Plus, I think they wanted to ease into this and rebuild the foundation of the band (which speaks more to their dedication long term if true) We all know that the recording process has been a sticking point for multiple members in the past. Perhaps a bridge to cross later when the foundation is built

The other part of it is that GNR is beholden to a record contract. They can't just release pro-shots without their permission, involvement, and inevitably their hands in the bands pockets. Maybe that's a scenario and something they'd like to do once the contract is over and maybe that would enough of an incentive to release music so that they can end it. It all depends upon what they want to do, where the contract stands, and what they can negotiate. Lots of lawyer time.

Yeah and also past members possibly not being positive to the thought of releasing live material.

It matters if you’re trying to place misguided blame, and speaking generally  upon what certain parties should do.

Fact is that it’s all a bit more complicated with many moving parts than what people realize (ie the Big 3 don’t just split the gross rev every night). I’m sure the band/mgmt have been more than preoccupied over the last 2 years with many parties pulling them in a thousand directions (besides merch designs as people like to joke).  It’s been a massively successful and exciting 2 years of activity. I don’t think anyone can honestly look at this and say otherwise. The fact that we got this when looking back at the situation in 2007-09 is beyond my expectations. Yet it goes to show that people will complain about anything

No one is forcing anyone to buy any of this stuff. No one is going to call you less of a fan if you don’t. I certainly have held off on the majority of it. Supply and demand works just as well in the music business than anywhere else so that’s everyone’s golden sword to yield. If this section of the fan base isn’t receptive to what they offer, they will all eventually alter their position.

I just think it goes to an unnecessary level of blaming, trolling and armchair quarterback play calling at times. It’s great to be engaged and care about this stuff, but at certain point I can’t see how any of this helps. We only see 1% of what’s going on and make these proclamations

Still though. It feels to me that it's more than likely that this detracts interest of releasing music from whoever is in charge. I wouldn't mind them doing stuff like this provided they actually released something. Now the Remastered was great and all, but I'd very much like if they made their living selling us pro-shots and new music rather than (re)releasing old stuff and giving us overpriced shit.

I don't think so. Many disagree with aspects of how involved they are in the band or the way certain stuff is run but hatred is a bit extreme. Anyone who gets to the point where they feel active hatred for people associated with their favourite band probably needs to take some time out.

I think it's the same story about Alfred/whoeverthefuck. I really don't see why anyone would care about them on a personal level, unless they'd actually done something really bad to them.

I get that people are annoyed, and I fully support people being angry after Frans/MsMetal having had their YT channels taken down.

But I do not get people who hate them or vent their anger by insulting them, over and over. To most of us, they are just nobodies doing stupid shit online.

If you think it's an issue, find an appropriate way to deal with it; either by getting the attention of the band (yeah...) or by changing the system for the better.

I mean, trying to solve someone being delusional by writing angry messages with personal attacks against them on a forum is like pouring gasoline at a fire to put it out.

No he doesn't. I've received many private msgs about his/her/its behavior on the forums over the years. "Mofo" thinks I stalk, but bringing him up hit a nerve, so people just give me information about this person and surrounding characters. All lies according to him, obviously.

Some of our fellow fans have been able to obtain IP addresses, home, phone #, etc. Now that's a bit extreme as I don't want anyone in physical harm, but given his behavior, you're asking for retaliation. His "name" (despite being a fake one anyway) isn't mentioned here because the history of harassment.

However I am not done calling attention to the larger issue. The feedback from this copyright episode has blown me away, how many of you are effected. With "Alfred," I was shown a video where he says, "Beta and her stupid fucking children, I hate them." It's sick. I'm an advocate of mental health, and clearly it's needed there. "Mofo" is cut from the same cloth. To obsess over a band you are not in, to attack and berate other fans? So hopefully they get the therapy they need, but what I can do is continue to give a voice to those harassed. So if you have a similar story to the ones discussed on this thread, let me know.

And since it's obvious the trolls monitor this...

Mofo, I gave you 2 chances to speak privately before going public. You brought this on yourself. After all the years of your behavior, I'm surprised you and your cult haven't been outed and shutdown earlier. And stop harping on the fun story I spoke about Axl MAYBE being late for a show because of TMNT 2. To obsess over that? You don't deserve a forum.

    Alfred, get help. Seriously.

Good to see there's someone I agree completely with - there's no point in reacting to someone being a cunt by slandering them or harassing them.

Really looking forward to potential future podcasts on this matter!

Also, as a sidenote, I partially agree with the user who mentioned (in the thread about ep. 74) that you put an end to a few tangents Russ and Rick went on.

In general it's obviously the right thing to do, so as to not take the discussion away from the subject matter. But I feel that some of the subjects, which were being brought up, were really interesting.

Is there any plan for who any future episodes might have as guests?

    Keep the good work up!

    they do exist.

this photo is from a forum members twitter feed.

I'm fairly sure that Saskatoon is the only SBD of those? Given that their Inglewood and Hartford releases are based on previously circulatred masters, I doubt that their Hammersmith disc is new stuff.

I think chances are really good for that another EVSD pro-shot UYI release happens eventually though.

Holy grail for me would be a SBD for Hammersmith 1987 (very likely doesn't exist) appearing. That show seems to have been the shit.

it's like, the last thing that the normal folks knows that is "out there".

Maybe if you have it, it can be a door opener for further more negotiations.

But I wouldn't pay 2k for it, seriously.

There is absolutely no way that there are no more shows like Saskatoon sitting around in someone's basement or in the inventory of some far-away-recordshop.

The only question is when, why, where and how much :)

Hopefully it happens soon, and we get some nice AFD/UYI era show(s).

None of the guitars in evader's is actually from Guns N' Roses guitarists? Neither are the drums? None of it's real? evader fooled me lol. We need an expert that can do an as is audio as it is heard exactly on the clip. Reimagining what you think you hear is cool but the meat and the bones of the meal is what's actually in the 2 minute clip. I feel uncomfortable with fantasy music. I want the real deal as heard in the clip.

What does it even matter? Either it's a properly recorded, proper Guns session or it's something else.

Having this is great, but I don't think having an "expert" cleaning it up would be all that different. You'd still have to fill in blanks, and make educated guesses.

I'm not particularly fond of this (no offense to Evader, just not that interesting to me), and I wouldn't be very interested in any other type of reconstruction.

In every review i read about this gig the critics are shitting on Coma and the Chinese Democracy song. Seems to be a popular opinion to crap on that album in particular.

I am no die hard GnR fan by any means or big on CD, but i actually liked songs like Better and Madagascar quite a lot. Much more than some of the covers.

Madagscar was far better than SCOM in my opinion. Axl put no effort into SCOM, but went all out in Maddy. That's all it takes.

Don't even bother! It's their job to whine, stir up emotions and get a reaction. The only thing I can get annoyed with is when you get back home and talk to friends about the gig, and I say it was fantastic and they say, "oh really, I heard it was so so".

Yeah man, I know what they're doing. Just brought it up since I thought it was hilarious.

  10. From Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet:

"Det finns sämre och tråkigare musiker än Slash och Richard Fortus. Men ibland önskar man att någon vänlig själ hade kapat deras sladdar."

"There are worse and more boring musicians than Slash and Richard Fortus. Though sometimes you do wish that some kind soul would cut their cords. "

What the actual fuck. They also thought SCOM was a highlight and rated that as 4/5 and Maddy at 1/5. Like, yeah buddy!

  11. Given that this was my first ever GNR show, I don't really have anything to compare with (besides recorded shows) but;

Axl was great in the beginning and the end, WTTJ, Madagascar and Nightrain were definite highlights.

He Mickey'd the shit out of a few songs in the middle, YCBM and SCOM in particular.

Slash was not really compatible with the overall feel of some of the songs.

Fortus on the other hand was flawless, and I think he played better than Slash on Wish You Were Here. Should have been louder in the mix.

Frank just got the job done, performed a solid show. Only things I think he did wrong was that he played Estranged and NR too fast.

Duff sang poorly, seemed to have issues with feedback. To be expected since he was sick.
