Interesting BBC Music hasn't uploaded any GN'R to their YouTube channel yet. They've been pretty quick in getting highlights up. Wonder is that because they're fixing sound on their own accord, told by GN'R not to put any up.. or told by GN'R to fix sound before it goes up! The possibilities.. I know Axl loves Elton but he doesn't seem to be a huge gig-goer. Seems somewhat unlike him to hang about just to see Elton. Plus he is there extremely early if that's the case. Like no need for him to be on the site hours and hours before. The optimist in me would say he arrived early to run through some stuff with Elton... (Disregard this..) And the extreme optimist in me reckons a repeat of Bohemian Rhapsody (hopefully with an Axl performance for the ages...)

Not to contradict anyone, but the line some have said about Axl's weaker high end voice being the issue not coming through the mic - it doesn't explain why you can't hear him at the start of It's So Easy. You also can't hear McBob for the intro. And Duff's bass. Clearly his higher vocal isn't as strong and doesn't cut through as easily but seems to me there was an issue with the mic/sound desk as well.

Truly one of the great nights as a fan in recent memory. The nerves added to it. Couple of beers, lots of friends watching who wouldn’t normally watch. The great buzz on here. It wasn’t perfect but it was brilliant despite that. A real rise to the occasion moment. Axl giving everything and Slash other-worldly at times.

Excited now. I think for UK and Ireland, the difference in Glastonbury to other UK festivals etc is that this puts Guns back into the mainstream, which they haven't been in the same way for decades. Yes they have toured and are still talked about among music fans but this is vastly, vastly different. The full coverage on the BBC is the main part of this. Everyone from work colleagues, to friends to family will probably see parts of the performance. That's never the case for any other show here. In ways it is exciting, has huge potential, is something many of us have wanted to see for so long. It also brings pressures - we care about the band, we want to see them put in a fine performance and to be well-received. If they aren't it'll make minimal difference in the long run.. but you can be sure whatever happens there will be a lot of noise around it. PS Just stuck on the Arctic Monkeys - I really like them but they just don't have the energy they once had. The set so far hasn't been well arranged unfortunately. That is a problem GN'R face. I would nearly go back to the old WTTJ, ISE, Brownstone, Live and Let Die type intro for a show like this. Have it on the TV and hard to believe we will see Guns in this quality in just a few hours. Fingers crossed for a great performance from rock's last great hope!
