  3. When someone overanalyzes something as petty as Robin's beard, what Axl says to the audience, the set list from one show to the next, or the tuning of Bumblefoot's fretless guitar OR A PICTURE OF THE SETLIST, it's time to get a life. Disconnect from the Internet and reconnect with the real world.

    hmm :book:

    Kannon.

heh, they are just asking us to look into this

  4. well, with paradise playing right now, this concert was a absolute waste. if anything, this could be a sign that the album may in fact come on on the last possible Tuesday.

I'm sorry, did you pay for a ticket? Were you in Florida at the show? Oh, wait, I see - you read the setlist on the Internet - and you feel it was a waste. Except you weren't there, didn't see it, didn't hear it.

And from the setlist you've stumbled upon a release date.

lol. You keep getting better kid.

Do yourself and the board a favor and follow that exit sign someone posted.

I give a hell of a lot of credit to Madison for her patience though.

I'm interested to hear the reviews of this gig, especially from the non-fans.

im just considering how this lack of change in the set will affect CD. every non-hardcore fan that was there tonight will probably just download the album when it comes out, and not spend their money on it like they should. why? its simple, those that were blown away by the new stuff may do it, but most of the people wont know what to think about it. the majority of people wont blow their money on something that they dont know if they like or not.

  5. Did anyone here minus the folks that know better realize that this setlist is entirely new to Florida?

I mean, we know everything that goes on with the band because we spend time on these forums and granted have seen this setlist over and over-

But there are probably 1000's of people there who haven't heard The Blues, Better, Madagascar and the like live and it is a new thing for them-

Just thought I might point this out being that this technically is the beginning of the US tour for those that were not lucky enough to see a warm up show-

    Well said

your missing the point. THEY ARE NOT TOURING FOR APPETITE, THEY ARE TOURING FOR CHINESE DE FUCKING MOCRACY.

it doesnt matter that they dont know the new shit. tough for them. im very sure that they will fall in love with it anyway. and plus, axl wont rob them of the hits and a couple of less popular songs. jesus, this is supposed to be for a new album, not one from 20 fucking years ago.

The only people missing the point here are you and a certain group of fucktards who I'm pretty sure are only here to complain.

Besides Pearl Jam - and they did it ONCE that I'm aware of - bands do NOT play an entire new album on tour, because people don't know the fucking songs. You break in new material over time. GNR needs to appeal to people who want to hear the classics and may not even have heard the leaks. They play from 4 to 6 new songs a night - Chinese Democracy, The Blues, Madagascar, Better, I.R.S., and there's always the chance of TWAT.

That's pretty much average for any band with a new album. You don't get any more than that on ANY major bands new album tour. If you did, you'd have people not knowing what the fuck was going on.

IMO you and certain others are being pricks because you've seen the setlist online. Guess what people at the show's HAVEN'T. They don't read the setlist from every show, go to these boards, etc. They don't leech bootlegs. The net really has spoiled some people.

"tough for them" is not the way to win over fans. You're coming off as a spoiled brat who thinks the band only plays to others like who to check shit online everyday.

Sorry to the rest for this rant.

Or does anyone else think it's a great idea for GNR to play buckets of new material at one show prior to the album dropping?

5 new tracks would be perfect. And when I hit a show I'd love to see Used to Love Her.

ok, so essentially, your saying that 4-6 new songs is enough to make people go buy the album. sorry to burst your bubble, but people will forget about the new stuff the moment a "classic" song starts. sure, they may thing about it later, but i doubt it will be enough to make them buy the album, especially when its so much easier for them to download it.

ok, i got your point here: they could play Madagascar, IRS, The Blues, Oh My God, CD, Better and TWAT, good copilation of new songs, CD songs and even dont play any unheard song...

they could do so, but they dont want to.

essentially yes, with the occasional new unheard tune, at least untill the album is out, then they play nearly every track.

  8. LOL @ the setlist.. what a shocker.

Cant wait to hear the excuses from the Axlites tomorrow.

This Axlite is already telling you they have an understudy drummer who probably only knows certain songs-

Oh and guess what else? That has nothing to do with Axl, he sings, he can't play the drums as well. :fuckyou: <---No Offense of course!

Ah, and right on cue, here come the excuses.

No band goes on tour without a backup at guitars, drums, etc. incase someone falls ill - and those people practice all the songs that band could possibly play on the tour.

What the fuck is your point here? If you didn't have the internet and know the previous setlists - which most of the people at this show are covered by - The Blues and Better would be brand new to you. It's only the hardcore fans who download the concert bootlegs. 95% of the people at this show have never heard Better live.

The concert isn't even half over and you're making proclimations and throwing names. Do us all a favor - at least shut the fuck up till it's over. Because a) most people with a brain weren't expecting many changes from the warmup gigs and euro tour and B) even if they do add a song or two, it's likely to be towards the end once the crowd is into the show.

your forgetting the fact that this isnt the new band covering the old band. its supposed to be for the NEW FUCKING ALBUM. why the fuck cant the NEW FUCKING ALBUM be played to promote it. idk who came up with this idea, but going out there and playing appetite every fucking night wont sell Chinese Democracy

  9. wow, two new songs...........and this is the Chinese Democracy Tour........and the cd will be out sometime within the next 9 weeks..........GNR is fucked.

there's more than half a concert left.

We need a dumbass smiley, or one giving the finger.

    :fuckyou:

    Dont Damn Me........

seriously, the fucking played OTGM? what the fuck, if axl wants to sell cds, he cant play old songs that dont need to be heard. the only essentials are Jungle, SCOM, November s it will win people over, just look at Better.

  10. I really don't think we will be hearing anything special tonight just because Frank probably doesn't know the songs and may have been called in at the last minute, just my opinion though-

good point bandita...that could well explain the setlist tonight

I also recall reading somewhere that the band arrived in Fla on Saturday and rehearsed a few days...perhaps to get Frank warmed up?

my belief is that if he has learned whatever brain plays, which would include any new songs that may or may not be heard. if he is on the road with the band, then there is no doubt about it.
