  1. Knocking

    Patience

    Civil War

SCOM(i find it easy at least)

    WTTJ

    Down On The Farm

    Used To Love Her

    My Michelle

Estranged (most people say its hard, but if you just take it step by step and get every bend to sound right, its very simple)

if you want to play some new gnr tunes, IRS is probably the easiest for the most part. i would also suggest learning Robin's parts on TWAT, they are very simple but yet extremely fun to play.

off topic, but does anyone have a tab for the blues solo? after a few failed attempts, i have come to the conclusion that i will not be able to get it on my own lol. iv been hoping to see GP tabs of all the new leaks, but i haven't seen one yet.

  2. again, your still missing the point. its not like he doesn't care about fans. maybe its just a perfectionist/OCD thing. he doesnt want a bad image of the band, which includes himself. once the CD comes out, or even starts promotion, you will see people trying to attack the band as much as possible. nitpicking live performances would be easy. those small things can be talked up very easily.

  3. gawh. it's not so hard for him to upload a show on the internet. all it takes is to get the shows they did and upload them on the net for the fans to download. jesus christ. to say that he hasnt released even 5 decent live shows from 1991 to 2006 is really pathetic. and as for new gnr they did like 70 shows this year. axl could be at least nice enough for his fans to upload some of them. what kind of a rock band is stingy on live material (or person i should say)

dude, your missing the point. axl will not release something he is not happy with. id bet that axl is rarely happy with a entire show. things go wrong, he runs out of breath, somebody fucks up solo, its live rock. things happen and although they don't hide it, they try to prevent it. i will be surprised if we ever get any more raw live material. i cant blame axl for that. thats how he works. its how i work too.

  4. i can sympathize with axl, i know what its like to not be happy with something and have to keep re doing it and improving something until its perfect. he inst being selfish. he just doesn't have the time right now to do it. i dont know about you, but i care more about CD than i do a couple of UYI shows. if you look over the past 10 years, it seems axl has been doing something more important that working with old material.

  5. Maybe you'll be able to go to your local music store and purchase a foot guitar. Sorry, I couldn't help myself. I think the album is going to be huge, but I doubt it will change music. Guns N' Roses are a Led Zeppelin or Who type band. They're just so much better than everybody else that their style is not really easy to imitate. The reason Rolling Stone cares so much about Axl is because he's a one of a kind. They don't have characters like Axl Rose in modern music. Axl is a Jim Morrison type character, the difference being that Axl lived to be midldle age. Axl is attempting to again elevate himself to his pre-Cobain suicide days of being the biggest rockstar on the planet. I think the only influence he might have though, is to cause older bands like Metallica and U2 to try and make halfway decent albums again. Axl is going to be like a really pissed off Michael Myers coming back to Haddonfield on Halloween night. 20 Years after Appetite for Destruction appeared, Axl Rose is back, and he appears to be set to dish out a little Chinese Democracy for all of us in 2007.

i doubt he will ever come right out and say it, but you just know Axl wants to release the album and be on top of the world again. the ultimate "Fuck You" to everyone that doubted who was the heart of GNR, and that he could create a new version of GNR and be successful. i have no doubt that the album will be great. anyone who hears Better or TWAT will say the same.

the thing that makes me so confident in the albums success is simple: Axl is trying to get it released. if he is showing it off so much to so many people, he must be proud of it.

  6. my belief is that axl doesn't want to release something he is not happy with. Thats not to say live performances are bad. Axl probably views live shows as i know i would. it can never be perfect, or, to put it another way, one can not be 100% happy with how everything goes. take for instance the Live Era cd. a lot of work was put into making it sound unbelievable, but not phony. now look at the Tokyo 92 dvds. HUGE difference. its raw. i think axl prefers to make everything "perfect, but not too perfect". this would take up too much time when he has more pressing matters to deal with (releasing cd, touring, and hundreds of other thing we don't and will never know about)

maybe down the line we will get something from the footage shot on the 06 tour/touring done in 07. someday we may even get another UYI dvd or two, maybe another live CD.

  7. I can see it bobbing along modestly.

I really don't see GN'R selling millions upon millions in this day and age. And they certainly won't 'change music'. I'd love it to happen, of course, but eh...I just don't think it will. Axl and the guys are doing nothing new.

And Fridayfan13, if you don't think there are bands out there at the moment that are half as good as Guns you need to get a wider taste of music.

oh please. give me one band that can even come close to the music we have heard the GNR this year.

    *crickets chirping*

    exactly

i can believe that somebody can actually enjoy the music out there today. my god, what happened to music? every band sounds the same. same vocals. same guitars. same power chords over and over. what happened to someone pouring their heart into lyrics or solos? i am thankful that GNR saved me from becoming a zombie listening to modern rock. i never really listened to music up until a few years ago. i listened to some modern rock, but it wasn't really a part of my life yet. then a friend introduced me to GNR. next thing i know im addicted to classic rock, and even play the guitar. GNR inspired me to look for more in music, and hopefully it will do the same on march 6th.
