  1. Jesus christ, where do I even start.

Okay, so Slash sounds he's playing through a tin box, not a big beefy tube amp or 6 like we know he is. Having the tone rolled off in Estranged was a damn mistake, he did not retain as much clarity or warmth as he used to. If anything, modern recording tech being too accurate has fucked his tone. Old microphones had character to them, this is just DI and is dry as FUCK.

Fortus was louder than Slash, it felt like listening to Live at the Roxy again. I don't mind 4tus' tone, but it needs more balancing.

I could only hear the treble end of Duff's bass, so it sounded like clangy bridge cables rather than a bass guitar.

Axl...if the meds thing is true, I understand that. Personal experience says that losing weight while on meds is a bitch. His voice is suited to Wichita Lineman. The rest needs recomposing in my opinion for the live shows. His range is gone, and it sucks to admit it, but he needs to work around that. I hope to god the Europe dates at least are canned next year. His voice needs to heal, like an actual wound. His singing technique physically hurts when I do it, but done right with rest is very easily manageable. In layman's terms, call your fucking coach Axl. More money is all well and good but it is never going to fulfill any musician the way writing does.

I can't hear Melissa or Dizzy except during Estranged.

    Frank is just vibing.

    Right.

If Steven and Izzy weren't involved then, locally in the states-- I don't see them being flown overseas in the middle of all this for shows that may not even happen/ or be allowed to draw the crowds to make it worth the band's while to split that "fp money" with any former members.

but who knows... It'd be great if it happens.

Why does everyone keep saying these shows won't happen? Australia has been vigilant. There were 14 cases in South Australia and they slammed back into heavy lock down within a day.

  3. Something I didn't consider before: the time between the last and first shows of 2014 and 2016 is 664 days. If my predictions are right (Europe and NA 2021 dates will get canned), then that would be 602 days of rest for Axl. While I want to believe he'll return to 2016 form, I feel that it's just going to be worse. Gold Coast, be prepared for rehearsal level vocals

  4. 1. I genuinely believe Slash has an RSI (repetitive stress injury) or arthritis in his left wrist and that's why he noodles more. I haven't heard him hit his bends the entirety of NITL. More notes and less bending moves the pressure to his fingers and right wrist. The face he makes when doing major bends like in NR or Estranged could be a rock star face, but I believe it's genuine pain.

    2. I've never admitted this to anyone, but at my first GnR concert (2017), I didn't sleep well the night before. I napped on the drive up, but it wasn't enough, so by the time we hit November Rain, I was drifting in and out. It seemed to drag on for so long that I couldn't tell what was WYWH, what was Layla and what was actually NR.

  5. What a lot of people here don't seem to understand is that Guns have only been here once in the past 4/5 years. People will be desperate to see a live show, so I think they'll get at least 80% capacity. I will definitely go, because on top of it all, I've only seen them once. At the time, I knew the major hits and that was it, but they captivated me enough that I know their entire repertoire now. I'm 19. I want new music as much as the rest of you, but these guys may well be dead before I could see them the amount of times some of you have. NITL isn't perfect, but I can't exactly go see the Skin N Bones tour.

Today i found my 1st one on the ranking:

    1991-06-19 Capitol Centre LANDOVER.

    HOW MUCH FOR THAT SHOW?

Couldn't even find a clip of that one, must have been good!

The Stockholm '91 is pretty epic too.

That was a pleasure to listen to, need more of it.

  7. Bored on a Tuesday night! We've all heard the song a trillion times. So what was your favourite?

'You know where the fuck you are!?'

'And now, and now we know where we are! It's good to be here, in the Jungle!'

'You know EXACTLY where the fuck you are'

'This little old black man comes up to me and my friend with our backpacks and about ten bucks between us. And he goes, do you know where you are!?'

Maybe the one where Axl mentioned your home town?

My personal favourite is the 'do you know where the fuck you are' from the Rock am Ring, 2006. Never heard it be that long since.

  8. New Rose was good, but I find Duff to be fairly consistent in his performances :D My Michelle was a lil airy in spots but still infinitely better than I could do! Great performance from Axl. Coma was an absolute listening pleasure. This I Love: I prefer Slash's solo on the Houston version but I'm super glad they aren't ignoring TIL, it's a personal favourite of mine. Out Ta Get Me: I wish to the gods above that we could have seen the Cincinnati version with Stephen but ah well. November Rain...I find it absolutely disgusting that Team Brazil thought it was acceptable to skip out on 'dling dling what the fuck was that!?'

    Great stuff overall!

What is it with the crowds, are Americans more subdued (no offence meant just genuinly curious).

I've noticed they are, and not just with guns. South American crowds seem to be much more mobile (see AC/DC Live at River Plate), but I imagine as a result that that makes NA crowds safer to be in :)

Something like this would be cool. Different enough from NITL, but not a complete overhaul.

Acoustic, with Slash playing electric on some songs:
    1. You're Crazy
    2. Move To The City
    3. Dead Flowers
    4. Used To Love Her
    5. You Ain't The First
    6. Patience
    7. Fall To Pieces
    8. Sorry / Street Of Dreams
    9. November Rain
    10. Wichita Lineman
    11. Yesterdays / So Fine
    12. Knockin' On Heavens Door

    -Break-

    Electric:
    1. Welcome To The Jungle
    2. It's So Easy
    3. Mr. Brownstone
    4. Chinese Democracy
    5. Live And Let Die
    6. Pretty Tied Up / Dead Horse
    7. You Could Be Mine / Rocket Queen
    8. Civil War
    9. Slash Solo
    10. Sweet Child O' Mine
    11. Attitude
    12. Think About You
    13. Estranged
    14. The Seeker / Black Hole Sun
    15. Hardschool
    16. Nightrain
    17. Paradise City

Do this but put the acoustic set between the Slash solo and SCOM. And force Axl to sit down for the acoustic set so he can gather himself.

  10. I love SMKC, sometimes even more than Guns (it's a complicated relationship). Myles' voice is incredibly pleasing to me. His lyrics can feel a bit recycled (I've heard "dark to light" like 700 times) but he works hard and takes care of himself.

As for a new Guns album, I'll see you guys in 2055 when Axl, Beta, and Fernando all pass away in a car crash on their way to the Guns N' Burgers restuarant opening, thus releasing the vault from one set of greasy fingers to the money hungry tendrils of the label that will sell everything Axl had as 'W. Axl Roses's final masterpiece'
