Just my opinion of course. Outside of This I Love, nothing else is very memorable. Bucket is amazing on almost everything he touches of course. As for the NITL singles, Perhaps and Hard Skool absolutely sound closer to UYI than CD. Even the riff and overall music up until the stupid breakdown of Absurd are more like what I would expect of a punkish Guns song. Hell, even The General could have been an epic song if it actually went anywhere.
If only someone could convince Axl to let a major producer take charge for an NITL album
As far as Robin goes I have to say I completely disagree. His solo on This I Love is a masterpiece. But the rest of his work unmemerable? Street of Dreams, ChiDem, There Was a Time, Better ... Man those solos are so amazing and melodic. His impression is all over that album, just as much as Bucket's.

Except for The General, of course?
Although I have made my jokes, I don't dislike the song. It's just a sonic mess, which I attribute to its releasing during the NITL era. I'm fully convinced that had this released when it should have, back in the ChiDem era, it would sound a whole lot better. But unfortunately, The General is going to be a GnR song I will never listen to more than a few times. I also don't and won't listen to the other NITL singles. I prefer the leaked versions of those songs.

jokes aside, and I can only speak for myself, it’s not about bad guitarists rather than the prefered styles and the overall sound of CD. And still I enjoy half of that record. But when I compare the NITL singles to the leaked ones then to me the official released versions are nearer to the GNR sound and no wonder because Slash’s sound was added. It’s not necessarily a quality thing.
It's all personal. To me, Hardschool and Perhaps reminded me of UYI first I heard them when they leaked. My whole point is I don't box myself in as a fan to a certain era. Since I first heard November Rain on the radio, I've been a die hard GnR fan. There isn't a single song I genuinely dislike.

I love ALL of GnR .. The AFD era .. The Illusions era .. All of the ChiDem era .. GnR has never had a bad guitar player and Axl even at his lowest is still an amazing singer

OK lol ... I still don't like CD 🤷♀️
That's fine! I don't care if you don't like it ... It's just weird to dismiss CD and yet like CD era songs lol

I think there are more CD/NuGuns fans here than there are of classic-era Guns. I feel I'm in the minority by not liking NuGuns and thinking that CD is shit.
As of late, the anti-CD fans have been the loudest

Slash and Duff are on them, they may come from that era but sound more like GnR rather than nuguns.
Do they really? Because they still sound very very similar to the leaked versions with the other members. Just like when nuguns did AFD songs ... Was very minor differences in sound. Point is, so many here like to shit on ChiDem and then praise they ChiDem songs just because Slash added a different lick here or there lmao

Duff announces a new double live album coming later this month. I guess I’m too much of a simpleton to understand why Guns hasn’t released a live album 8 years into the semi reunion
Yeah, it is very strange. And it can't be because of Axl's vocals, because they released those god awful selects with arguably the worst sounding Axl on an official release

Could it be that whoever says they think these songs are better than anything on Chinese Democracy understands the concept of personal preference and you don't?
i literally followed my point up with IMO .. I love how whenever I take the time to say IMO fuckheads like you come out of the wood work to talk about "personal preference" ... Fuck off. My post was about the fact that new GnR songs get 0 radio play and their contemporaries do

If Guns want to get played on the radio then they need to ditch the CD era. That whole era is full of mid tempo songs with no real guitar riffs and lyrics about all the people that wronged Axl in the 90s. People don’t really relate to that.
Hardskool would be a great radio song ...How about all of the slow mind numbing depressing grunge songs that still get played every day? Moot point

My point is, the way these songs are talked about on this forum, some say they're leagues better than ANYTHING on ChiDem .. Utter lunacy, imo. So I'm trying to make a point, if these songs are so amazing, and many credit Slash being on them for the reason why, then how come they get ZERO radio play. When songs like Lost, which funny enough, is very similar, being a 20+ year old song, still gets regular airplay, and the singer is dead! Ozzy's new album stuff still gets played regularly, and he doesn't even tour!

Probably because most people don't care about the new songs, and nobody requests them.
My local station plays tons of GNR too, aside from the hits I regularly hear Don't Cry (Alt version), Mr Brownstone, Nightrain... they played the shit out of SOYL when that was released. I heard Hardschool once when it was released, and Perhaps maybe twice at the most. Of course they're not gonna play Absurd or The General.
The NITL singles are mediocre and the production sucks. It's really that simple.
My local station has Killing Floor in regular rotation and I've heard Oh Well several times, too.
Yeah, agreed. I'm not 100% serious with my question. I'm asking more in a "think about it" type way.

Also just to note .. My local radio is Philly which has a huge rock radio presence and heavily features new music from all bands old & new .. They also play A LOT of GnR every day. Why wont they play the new songs?
-
So just heard the new Motley Crue song WITHOUT MICK on my local rock radio ...
Since 2021, here are the number of times I've heard the FOUR NEW GnR songs WITH SLASH ...
Absurd: 0
Hardskool: 1 (after midnight)
Perhaps: 0
The General: 0
Brutal ...
Still hearing 2 year old Ozzy songs .. Still hearing Linkin Park's Lost .. Why does new GnR not get played? Very strange ..

Axl Rose is 62 years old. It's fucking insane reading ya'll say shit like "years later" in regards to when GnR will get around to new music .... It's like there's no self awareness that this dude is 62 years old and has had a declining vocal capability for years now ... I swear some of you don't recognize the fact that this isn't 40 year old Axl from 2002 anymore ...

Yep! The world throws out a single breadcrumb about something/anything that could possibly be GNR related, on a very minor scale, and this site creates 500 pages to discuss.
Remember the Spotify "algorithms" and the album that HAD to be right around the corner ?
Now, we have an Axl Rose poorly constructed website, that could be real...or fake, and we are thinking its a lead to a solo album or an autobiography!
My joke wasn't about this forum, I was making a joke about a "News" section on Axl's website lmao

Love So Fine. Listen to it a lot. I never watched and never will The General music video. Probably will never listen to it again either (saying that after all these years is such a crazy thing)
The "New Album" Thread. Thanks to the long ass thread, I’m going home!

Yeah, I was just talking strictly what was officially released. If you include the leaks, there's even more!
