In latest Sweden rock magazine there is a page/advertisement with a date only on a black background: 10.9.21

Could tvis be related to GNR? It was part of this team who got Slash to speak about the reunion first, right?

Edit: Sorry, must be Metallica Black album anniversary

    Metallica was released in August.

Absurd is terrible, Atlas is just mediocre. At least we have the version with Brian May's solo.

Perhaps and State Of Grace are really good though, considering they're early demos.

I haven't heard any of those songs except Absurd. As I found that song ok, it seems we'll have a killer album.

2 weeks later Absurd is still crap to these ears.... I’ve tried it a few times and it’s still tripe.

1.5 million views of the first original track by a band in 13 years. The new Iron Maiden tune has 10 million views. That says a lot.

If you look at the officially released singles by GNR, this surely ranks the worst. Shadow of your love, even though an oldie, was far better than this.

Amongst the couple of music heads and GNR heads I know, I haven’t heard anything positive about this track. “It’s a joke right” , “it’s not sexy” and “I turned it off after a minute, twice” were some of the comments made.

I’m glad they got SOMETHING, out there, and I hope an album follows, but this track ain’t great.

(Again, only my take on it. Music is like food, what I eat others might not like and others eat what I might not like, it’s why there’s such a variety of music, all tastes are catered for, and absurd isn’t to my taste)

Light my Fire has been mentioned by some posters in this thread @Pele is this a cover of the Doors track? I never thought of Guns covering this track, but I could see it being brilliant. I’m intrigued!!

Absurd is better than the Maiden single. Not joking. And I'm a fan of both bands.

Have we collectively underrated Libertad? While I think Contraband is superior there are four really good songs on Libertad. Aforementioned Messages, Let it Roll, She Builds Quick Machines, and The Last Fight. I feel like people thought it sucked when it really didn’t.

What irritates me is that they picked SBQM as the first single, which in my opinion is the weakest song on the record!

Album picks: all songs except SBQM.

It’s not just that though. The placement of the vocal track in verses 1 & 2 sounds like it’s been pasted in the wrong place over the music too. Even if I hadn’t heard previous versions I’d still think the ‘screaming fucking banshee’ line comes in too early.

The placement of the vocal tracks is what makes it rock. It shouldn't work, but somehow it does.

Haven't read it yet, but please let's not forget, from the other side, that some fans may also be kind of dead. Look at the motionless zombies with cell phones. No lighters or waving and jumping like it used to be, just staring on and through the screens. Then remember those crowds from the 80s/90s bootlegs. Imagine Axl being 2 hours late in the year 2021...

The biggest problem with that would be the risk of your cell phone battery running out while waiting.
