  1. So far I think i've counted about 53 shows at the 02. I don't think he will then after that go an do a world tour. It's my understanding that certain countries are allocated certain dates at the 02, so technically this is the world tour, but the world comes to see him in London ?

    Or am I completely wrong?

  2. Got tickets for January. So, he's doing dates in July, August, September and January so far?

With so many shows, I don't think he'll have a special guest, although if Slash were to join him, this could boost awareness for Velvet Revolver's new come back. Just a thought.

  3. I AM GOING!!!!!! :D

    OMG!!!

Got my tickets today for presale!!!

Why should someone in Australia get priority over someone in the UK? I mean, good for you that you got them, but surely they would distribute them out to the UK fans before anyone else.

  4. I just watched the directors cut of Troy.

I never connected with Eric Bana's charactor, and it felt good to see that he was killed off. However, he was much more respectable than his brother Orlando Blooms charactor who was a fuckin' pussy and should have died. He killed Achillies. Brad Pitt was a complete legend in this film, killing was his skill, Bloom wasn't worthy enough to kill Achillie. Everytime Orlando was in a fight, he'd cowery away, instead of standing up and fighting (like the rest of his army).

  5. Yeah, no doubt the most influential guitarist of all time, and no-one was doing what he was at the time, but meh, listening to him doesn't do that much for me nowadays. There have been much better guitarists in the 36(?) years since his death. He has been put on a pedestal due to his death.

Better guitarists? Who? In terms of technique, perhaps some virtuosos, but no way as groundbreaking and passionate as Hendrix. That guy was so way ahead of his time.

yeah, in terms of technique and range, bucket is better but then you have to take into account that Hendrix laid a lot of the groundwork for people like bucket to build on. he's not as groundbreaking, agreed :)

Jimi's almost as good at Guitar as Ricky Hatton is at boxing!

  6. It's hard to believe Hendrix used to Busker in Newcastle when he moved to England. That just proves how low class he actually was, and to rise up so fast. And just compare him with the music seen right now, and what garbage guitarists there are now.

  7. Anyone know where I can get information on in his time in as para?

It's just strange how no one has ever really came close to hendrix, people say Eric Clapton, but, I still think Hendrix is a league a head. It's just like a freak of nature how someone can be so coordinated with a guitar in such little time.

The top 3 performances (that are released - as I've only heard live released)

1). Voodoo Child (Slight Return) - Woodstock

2). All Along The Watchtower - Ilse of White

3). Them Changes (Band of Gypsys) - Somewhere in 1970.

  8. There is SO much to talk about and has been talked about Hendrix. For me, time to time I get into a Hendrix spell, it's just he looks like a god on guitar when you see his woodstock performance. He died at something like 29, so it's not as if he had a lifetime to get to his skill.

People think he's over-rated, but, he just can't be, sings and plays like he isn't even trying. Recorded tonnes of music in his, what, 3 or 4 years of recording music.

Not much of a singer though, but that's not what Hendrix was known for.

    Opinions on him?

  9. My other half goes away fishing to France for a week at a time twice a year and in return I get 2 concerts a year and he buys the tickets for me. I've had one, Bon Jovi opening the o2 arena and I've turned down other concerts because I'm saving it up for Guns n Roses again so I'm hoping they play here again!

I'd love to see them at Wembley Stadium again but my other half reckons they wouldn't be able to sell it out any more! What do you guys think?

    Jo

If you got a job, then you could buy your own tickets to concerts, so you don't feel restricted.

  10. It annoyed me as well to start of with. but I was in the atmosphere, and I thought Ozzy is only wanting us to have a real good time, so I just got all into it. On the baduko (or whatever its called) DVD they played for 2 hours though, so was expecting a slightly longer show. But I was happy and I would see him again next year.
