    Fuck sake.

I check mygnr and see a leaks thread.

I expect a new leak like Seven or Zodiac 13, instead I see a bump about a Ashba solo demo from 10 years ago.

Sorry but it wasn't worthy of it's own thread

Did that last track (La Bella Vita) actually leak in studio quality? If so I totally missed that one.

I missed it too, That version on youtube sounds real to me though. Seems to have the intro snipped off

Ashba a never recorded with Guns. Although he did work on a few remixes and studio versions of his two guitar solos.

3 solo's, 2 of which leaked. Ballad Of Death, Mi Amore and La Bella Vita (the one that didn't leak) it is however pretty clear he recorded it as he once posted a video of himself playing it to a backing track which sounded production wise the same as the other two

I stand corrected looks like it did leak

They would have to rerecord the entire CD album as Melissa, Duff, and Slash were literally not a part of Guns N'Roses when Chinese Democracy was released. 💡

That is possibly more likely than a brand new  album of new material. It's likely there may be a recorded version of Better with slash Duff and Melissa I think.

There are a few versions of that song. Back when we found out about the Ashba version and the BBF version I wondered if Axl had used it as a sort of homework track for new people coming in to see what they have to offer. Given that it's the most reworked of the CD songs by the 2016 lineup it wouldn't surprise me if there was a studio version with that new intro somewhere.

    Question for native English speakers:

As a non native speaker, although I think I have adequate comprehension skills in English, I sometimes look up a word or expression, even if I think I know what it means, to make sure I fully understand what is being said/written.

So when Slash said (in the recent Classic Rock interview) that a new GN'R record has been "on the books" for a while ("and should start coming together"), I looked it up, e.g. here:

    on_the11.jpg

    on_the10.jpg

But I saw that everybody in the other thread interpreted it as been "planned" or "thought about", and I was wondering if it could mean what one of the definitions in the dictionary says

It's not about getting hopes up or anything like that (I don't do that - and I'm generally neither optimistic or pessimistic), just a genuine question :)

It's a weird choice of phrase for what he is talking about. You would normally hear the term in business. For example if you had a company and i was "On the books" it would mean I was employed by you, in the sense that my name and details are in your company's paper work and documents ect.

In the context it's used here though I agree with @janrichmond. It's another way of saying what he has already said before. I wouldnt read too much into it.

Not a boxset but maybe a TSI reissue/remaster or whatever with a couple of bonus tracks maybe.

I can’t recall at the moment but was there anything left off TSI besides the studio Godfather?

    Beer And A Cigarette

“We're talking about doing a Hanoi Rocks tune...” SLASH Guitar World Magazine February 1992.

A Hanoi Rocks song recorded for The Spaghetti Incident album, removed so as to deny royalties to Andy  McCoy because they felt he was too much of a “Prick” to deserve the royalty money. Andy McCoy has  accused the band of plagiarism and that the song Paradise City is made of riffs taken from several Hanoi  Rocks songs. He believes the chorus is a slowed down version of a riff from Lost In The City.

In 1994 Slash had this to say in Kerrang...

“We did a Hanoi Rocks tune but we decided not to put it on the album because we didn't wanna give Andy  McCoy ( former Hanoi guitarist ) the money! McCoy's an asshole! The basic track was done but we never did any vocals for it.” ( Slash Kerrang NO.485 March 12, 1994 )

    Down On The Street

A cover of an Iggy song that was intended for the Spaghetti Incident. Slash had this to say in 1994

“We recorded a basic track on Iggy's Down On The Street. But we didn't finish that either, we stuck with  Raw Power it just sounded cooler. Iggy knew we were doing the Stooge's tun. I talk to Iggy all the time  anyway, he's a good friend. He was happy that we were doing anything in the first place, so that was  cool”( Slash Kerrang NO. 485 March 12 1994 )
