Not sure you can suggest he's compromising really. Slash and Duff are very good with their fans, communicating their future plans and sharing what they are doing all the time. But with GNR, bar posting the Coachella picture, they've been completely silent, much resembling the hired hands in that regard. That can only come from Axl as the management has changed so many times and yet nothing changes with GNR, it's silence all the way to April.

You'd think if there were any plans to be a proper band again that they would be trying to build hype, not diminish it. Post a few Tweets with Axl and Slash play fighting at rehearsals, post a five second clip of them jamming together, let the band confirm the lineup FFS.

Exactly. What a complete and utter dickhead. He's only 'Axl Rose of Guns n' Roses' because of the Appetite era band. The new band is awful and it's music, all of one random, scattered collection of various song ideas, would never have warranted this nomination. His letter is incredibly disrespectful and he'll regret his pathetic behaviour on his deathbed. Everyone else is willing to let bygones be bygones but he's too stubborn for that. In life, there are times when you are wronged by people you trust, but time makes you forgive, or it should.

He just has no dignity anymore, he's forgotten who he is and where he came from. He's destroying the bands name and it's legacy. It wouldn't be so bad if, as you mention, he actually did anything worthwhile with the new band apart from lazily touring to collect cash off the fans he claims to be so loyal to. Put some effort into it if you believe in it so much Axl and release another album.

Tommy should have stopped the band, chastised Axl and started again. That's what he would do if one of them messed up.

after 1year+ of CD being released and having listened to it more than 4 or 5 times each month I can now say that "This I Love" is probably the masterpiece of this god damn good album and that the wait has been worth it after all... I love the new lineup but you always imagine how Slash would have nailed the solo for this one...

But could you play that song loud in a party or in your car with your friends with you? I love the song too, but it's not for the mainstream.

It's not. This is a radio single. It's the method of getting the song to the radio station. I'd guess that selling it is probably breaking the copyright laws, but in this case I doubt anyone in GNR gives a toss as it's not available for purchase.

True...but the big argument from those who think the 23rd/25th rumor is 100% fact are using is "Billboard is always right about this stuff". Meanwhile, still nothing from the GNR camp about not only this RUMOR (and it IS just a rumor so far) or even a brand spankin' new song on this last weekend's #3 movie. I'm beginning to wonder if Axl even knew that the song was going to be used in the movie.

I suggest if they want to make some money back they should do a film about the users of this forum and their quest for CD. We could have two intermingling stories, the band and the forum. We could have the stolen demos, the squirrel hunt and Buckethead's dog poo and pornography.

Lets say they are three different covers. (Quite possible, I'm not discounting that possibility)

The more people post and the more news sites that post it, the more likely the band are to sort their communication issues out.

The more news stories there are, the more smoke there is. Sure they are all copying it from one source, but with GNR the lack of a denial speaks volumes. Had this not been true, IMO they would have shot it down instantly. It would be embarassing if people perceived them as having failed to deliver again when it was never meant to be released anyway.

I think we're just waiting for the Best Buy and GNR moons to align and then there will be never ending light.

Bad news to me, he was a massive part behind me getting into the new band. He is fantastic to watch live and judging by Better, his work on the album is going to be good.

IE, the deal is done but they are just finalizing a release date....Nowhere in that article do I get the opinion that its not a done deal.....just that they dont have everything set up yet....

OR, they have everything in place as releasing an album isn't difficult as so many other bands and artists prove, they just don't want to tell us. They have never told us anything and they don't know how to communicate.

If the album exists, and if it is being released through Best Buy, I reckon they would leave it to the last possible moment to announce it. I just worry that because of suits and management dragging heels and over inflating the importance of the release we could well see November 08 slip to March 09 which slips to November 09 and once again the cycle will continue.

Lets face it no one is busting a gut to get this released and they never have been.

It's a great title for a GNR song to feature in, given as though all we've had is lies punctuated with years of silence.
