  1. Fortus' solo there was amazing.

    Finck's solo was utter rubbish.

Ron took the song to a WHOLE new level. Amazing outro.

Ron's outro on NR is my favourite part of the new band by far.

    yes robin finck is terrible!

    HEY ROBIN!!

it's not your DICK! don't CHOKE IT!!

    You're a dick.

Do you think Robin wants to play 20 year old songs Slash wrote? Really? He couldn't give two shits about the NR solo.

Oh his better work is effing fantastic. But no, lets just criticise him because he's better looking than you are.

  2. That just ends it in my mind. Why the hell is Finck the lead over Fortus?

    Welcome to the club

Fortus looks more rock n roll too

You are what 12 and have emo hair right?

Fortus is great, Finck is great but there is no way in hell Fortus looks rock n' roll. He's an emo version of Izzy.

Finck looks way cool, like a 70's rocker. Way cool.

I cannot believe how stupid people are in their blind hatred of Robin. Get over it. He is superb and awesome to watch live. Oh you're not old enough to do that, silly me.

  3. i cant believe that the festivals goers are totally into GNR rock1

    Totally.

He has them eating out of his hands during KOHD.

i'm surprised at how great the whole band sounds together....they're really kicking ass! btw i am a total '87 guns purist......i've not been impressed with anyone in the new band until now....bbfoot looks great up there (finally) and fortus is a god.....FINCK STILL SUCKS THOUGH!

    :fuckyou:

  4. Rant

"we would like to thank the station for having us, and most of all to you for actually showing up."

Introduces Fink who plays a rather mello solo which is goin on for too long. He does have the classic Slash gutair and is now trying to shred but the crowd isn't feeling it.

    You must be fucking deaf.

How people can bash Finck after that start and solo is beyond me.

  5. The Blues: Possible Hit

Possible???? and that's the reason why everyone has ignored your thread :book:

    Kannon.

the 2002 version is better than the 2006 version. if it was 2002 itd be hit, but in 2006 im not so sure.

The first 10 seconds were probably better in 02, but the rest of the song is far, far better in 06. The guitarists are a lot better, Fortus is like a man possessed this year and Finck has improved immeasurably too. Neither bbf not Bucket has/had much imact on the song as the solos are all written and nailed by the Finckster.

Then we have Axl. The Mickey Mouse on helium of 2002, or the gravel throated crooner of 2006.

    Its 06 all the way.

  6. i thought it was a pretty fair review a little against axl at times but it's still showing axl is slowly winning people over. now people are recognising as a great frontman and that guns n roses wasn't all slash.

People as in the few who attend the shows are. But the band in general hasn't made any impact at all.

The album HAS to come out for anything positive to happen.

All Axl is doing now is playing for time.

  7. Thats a great write up.

At this stage it is ALL about the album. Axl still pi$$ing about with the old material is not going to gain one ounce of respect for himself or the band.

Sure they can play the old songs well, but so could about 10,251 other bands if they had Axl on vocals.

They need to stop the messing about and release the album. Tour with that material and at least they can be judged on what they have created and performed rather than suffering in comparison with the old band simply because they are different people.

  8. The set list rocks when you're there rocking your tits off! rock3

It doesn't when you're typing on the internet "expecting" so much more  , bo-hoo :sleeper:

The new songs they do play have a very solid and consistent live feel to them..

I understand about wanting to hear more new tracks, I to can't wait to hear them! B)

    UK SUBS.

No one is saying they can't put on a good show. I think what most people would like to see is an acceleration of the ultimate release schedule. 2002 was the 'hello, cooey, we're back' tour and this one HAS to come up with the goods. They've spent most of the year playing almost the same show, albeit brilliantly.

I'll stand by what I said earlier, why couldn't they release a single before this tour started? Play that live, get it on the radio and TV and get people talking about the band. Then actually go through with releasing the album.

They really shouldn't try to drag this out anymore than they have already.

  9. Anyone but the most intense fan boys would be disappointed by the setlist. That is not saying people didn't enjoy the show or like the members.

I went to see the band twice in the UK and was disappointed by the setlist. It really is farcical for them to still be rehashing 2002 setlists based on 20 year old songs they didn't write plus the odd new song. The Euro tour as it was shouldn't really have happened at all and the current leg of the US tour shouldn't either.

What the band should have done it turn up at Rio with a Chinese Democracy dominated setlist and release an album and a single as they kicked off the American leg of the tour. A insane suggestion it may be, but they suffer for every gig they do without any material being released. You've got the situation at the moment where 1,500 capacity venues are not selling out despite pre-sales and radio promotion (Not from the band obviously).

Well what the hell did you expect? For them to play all of CD? That's very unrecognisable material to most people there. They need to show people the band first with material the people know. Just let them do it at their pass.

Again: Why do people have all these extreme expectations?!!!

It's expectations like this that would make CD a flop...no matter how good it will be.

The only people that have made it a flop are the band themselves, by their refusal to release it.

2002 was their opportunity for them to drag out the old songs and raise some cash. To repeat that 4 years later isn't good. The fans know who's in the band apart from maybe bbf.

At this stage, forgetting the time wasting in Europe, why couldn't they release a single prior to this current tour? Why not? Get out and play that live, maybe attract some new fans. Then start slipping in a couple of genuinely new songs and release the album.

Why they are persisting with the old material is beyond me. The shows are not popular, tickets are not flying out and there is no real buzz or hype about the band. They create the bad press they receive through their own inability to release any material, and for the managements refusal to publicise the band.

  10. I hope this first show isn't and indication of what we will hear for the whole tour. We heard rumblings about Don't Cry and other new songs being added, and quite frankly I was fully expecting to see some "unnamed new song" as part of their setlist last night. Discuss...

    That's quite ignorant.

First of all it's just the first show of the tour. If people say something is gonna happen during the tour that does NOT mean it will by definition happen at the first show.

Secondly, what's wrong with playing a similar setlist all the time. Different crowds get about the same stuff and that's pretty fair to me. Almost every artist does it, with a few minor changes maybe. Aside from that you don't know if they even rehearsed other old songs. It's not like it's the same 199x band that knows them all. Most people that buy a ticket go to one show. Not 2, 3 or 10. So what's the problem with a similar set on a tour?

Your problem is purely that you have too high expectations.

    Very unrealistic imo.

Your sig says it all. They are dragging it out to the extremes of believability.

The album should be out already.

  12. Ask Axl about him. Apparantly he's an absolute genius with musical arrangement and has the ability to breathe life into tired performances with his dabbling. He has worked with Axl for a long time now and if there was any doubts as to his contribution or his abilities he wouldn't be in the band anymore, simple as that.

All I want is a solo so we can show our appreciation for him more.
