  1. Man, changing the subject a bit, but Axl's vocals on TWAT are terrible. I just can't get into this song at all. At this point, I think it's horrendous. I like the other two, especially Better, but if this is anything close to the final product of what may be a "Big Gun," I think Axl's in trouble. I wish him and the band all the best, and some of these new songs are really good, but this song so far is a major flop. It might be better that the radio stations can no longer play this.

  2. I can't seem to get into TWAT, with the exception of some parts in the second half. I like I.R.S., though, and I think Better is absolutely phenomenal. I have listened to that song at least 60 or 70 times in the last few days. If the album features mostly stuff like that, plus ballads like the Blues, it is gonna kick ass.

  3. The first part sucks, but then the rocking part is really good, albeit a bit industrial. But...

Axl's voice is BACK!!! The rasp and everything. It sounds exactly like it did during the Illusion tour. I can't believe this. This is great. Thanks so much again!

  4. Not to become overoptimistic (because in Gn'r world, everyone is used to being disappointed on a regular basis), but it seems like Velvet Revolver is crumbling, which would possibly allow for a Gn'r reunion. On the V-r site, it says Matt and Scott are both releasing new albums, while Scott is also playing in a movie and releasing his memoirs. Meanwhile, the progress on the new album appears very slow, at least when looking at their initial goal of releasing it by this past Christmas or early spring. In Gn'r, the band members are just as clueless as we are with the album, and Axl has finally said some decent things about his old bandmates and we know he's been talking with Izzy. I'm not saying it's gonna happen, because I think there's a 90 percent chance it's total BS. But if there was ever a time for a show, it would be now.

  5. VR would have to break up, with the greatest chance of this happening if Scott joins STP or goes back on the smack, both possibilities for the future. Then, Axl would have had to already released CD and finished touring and everything with that band. If CD doesn't do that well, then Axl would be more inclined to rejoin his old bandmates. I wouldn't rule out a reunion, but nothing in the near future for sure.

  6. His voice from 2001 to 2002 was flat-out atrocious. I can't even stand listening to any of the bootlegs I have anymore because it's so sad to hear him struggling the way he was in those shows. He had absolutely no power or strength behind it; he sounded like a wailing animal, with the exception of the Blues and Madagascar. That being said though does NOT mean that he can't get some of his voice back for the next tour/record, however many decades down the road that may be. He won't ever sound like he did during the Illusion tour (cigarettes, raspy voice), but he may work on his voice being what it was around 86 or 87. The reason why I think he can get some of it back is because of a friend of his known as Vince Neil. During the late 1990s, Vince's voice was horrendous and he was always out of breath. Now, in 2005/06, he sounds a lot better after getting in shape and going on tour. Because of this, I still have hope for Axl.

  7. I'm kinda surprised to hear Tommy diss Slash like that, especially based on the "these are my boys" speech before the Big in '04 performance. That said, I think most of that Nikki and Tommy said was not meant to be 100 percent serious, and in regards to Axl is mostly true. Axl is a great musician and performer, but Nikki was right about some of the things he said. As far as talent goes, the Crue are not talentless by any means, but they are not as talented as the original Guns. They are not a band that is meant to write deep lyrics and stuff like Gn'r did on the Illusion albums. These quotes by these guys shouldn't be made a big deal.

  8. Q106 in Lansing, Michigan, also talked about how it's probably coming out in March and this time it appears to be for real. It seems obvious they are saying this only based on what Slash said, but maybe this is finally it.

  9. I like both, but Motley Crue is my second favorite band. I saw them live this year (the show that just got released on DVD from Michigan), and it was phenomenal. And for those people who think they are only defined by Dr. Feelgood (which half the songs are really good, but sort of "pop," and half the songs are bad), listen to Shout at the Devil, which to me is very close to Appetite as my favorite album. Tommy is a wizard on drums, Nikki is a good bassist who writes great songs, Mick Mars is awesome and very underrated on guitar, and Vince, well, if there's a weak link, it's him. He still gets the job done on the albums though. Metallica is a great band, but I like Crue better.
