Each have their own highs and low points. I do agree with whoever said the 80s were poor overall.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Not as poor as the 90s or the 2000s .
-
Even though I love the 80s I think the 70s and 60s had better albums.
-
George, for the reasons mentioned above.
-
I'd say Hetfield. I'm not really into Metallica anymore but he has a lot of stage presence. Same for Vince. I find Cobain to be a rather boring frontman.
-
I love Billy Sheehan, I listen a lot to DLR and Mr. Big. Unfortunately they split up 3 years ago. He has to be the most technically skilled bassist ever. If you don't agree with me go to google and search some videos of him, you'll see what I mean.

Nightrain (Outro) - Slash [Guns N' Roses]
Isn't it Izzy who plays that solo?
-
The Who - Baba O'Riley (violin solo)
-
Mick Jagger
Jim Morrison
David Lee Roth
Axl Rose
Robert Plant
Roger Daltrey
Steven Tyler

Maybe try some DLR solo, they're more like classic Van Halen than VH with Hagar IMO. Steve Vai plays on a lot of songs but he doesn't play the incredibly fast solos like he does on his solo albums.

Hanoi Rocks - Millions Miles Away (sax solo)
Can't think of any others atm.

In no order:
Dazed and Confused
Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
Heartbreaker
Whole Lotta Love
Stairway To Heaven
Kashmir
The Rover
Ten Years Gone
No Quarter
Immigrant Song
I'm not really sure, there are some other songs that could be in here also.

Classic Rock imo is defined by bands like:
-Guns N Roses
-Queen
-Aerosmith
-Bon Jovi
They never really sounded like classic rock bands to me. I always associated Aerosmith more with 80's bands than with 70's bands, but I guess they're some sort of mix.
-
Both are good but I went with Contraband because it has original songs.
-
One hit wonder? I think the new song is great. I love The Darkness. They're definitely the most rock n roll of all these bands.
-
Good guitarist, definitely underrated.
I'm considering buying All Things Must Pass.
RIP George

how can you love GNR and totally hate Aerosmith. i believe they share the same DNA.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
GNR Kickass, Aeromsith suck, thats how.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
you may not like them, but they certainly don't suck. do you not notice the influence of Aerosmith in GNR's sound?
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Exactly. Joe Perry was one of Slash's biggest influences.
I don't know that much Kiss but I prefer Aerosmith.

they should have covered Hanoi Rocks. i'd love to hear them do "Until I Get You" or "Ice Cream Summer".
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
They almost did but Andy McCoy prevented them from doing it. Can't remember which song it was but you should be able to find it somewhere.

Led Zeppelin - When the Levee Breaks
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
ha! I never knew that was a cover
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Yea it was originally done by Memphis Minnie. Though I have no idea who that is. The original can't be better though.

The Yardbirds - Train Kept a Rollin
Jimi Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower
Cream - Crossroads
Led Zeppelin - When the Levee Breaks

"Before Elvis, there was nothing."
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
No, Black Americans had invented rock before Elvis, Elvis just stole their style and made it his own.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Who? I'm not disagreeing, I just don't know. I always thought Chuck Berry came after Elvis.

Pete, one of the greatest songwriters ever. Great guitarist too and a good singer.
