  1. Went to a record store today and to my complete surprise I found Chinese Democracy on vinyl. Took me aback for a bit, as I guess I knew it was made for vinyl, but I had never seen it in any stores probably since the day I bought the CD at that very abandoned display in Best Buy all those years ago. Also pretty surprised by the price, which I thought was pretty reasonable, seeing as LPs like Zeppelin and Aerosmith were going for $12 (way more than they should really be sold for).

Ended up passing on it, as $25 was just too much for me for an album I didn't really care that much for. Probably would have bought Appetite for that price had I seen it. Considered buying it in case someone on here was interested in it, or if it was worth way more than the $25 (I actually thought vinyls on this album went for quite a bit, but maybe I'm making that up), but didn't want to take a chance on that it wasn't valuable or that no one wanted it. Anyway, thats my funny Guns N Roses anecdote for the day.

Worth anything? Should I have bought it? Did anyone here want it?

I own AFD on Vinyl, Cassette and CD and I would rather smash all of them if it meant that I didn't have to do the same to my CD Vinyl.

  2. It's kind of like 9/11 conspirators. They find evidence because they want it to be evidence.

Like 2 buildings collapsing at free-fall speed as if it had no resistance whatsoever. Yeh... Didn't look like a controlled demolition or anything... Or how WTC7 collapsed(also at free-fall speed) without being hit by anything at all. Yeh....

See? This is what I'm talking about.

I bet this guy thinks the Sandy Hook shootings or The Holocaust didn't happen either.

I really can't believe that people actually think he didn't kill himself.

If you were around and followed the band back then you would know that everyones response was "He finally did it."

He shot himself, in the head, while high on heroin. He may have had a lot of heroin in his system, but he also was know to to DO A LOT OF HEROIN. You tend to build up a tolerance when you do that.

Well what about evidence from a man who was there himself? Yes I'm talking about Tom Grant and his investigations. Now people can say what they say and say Tom is jealous because he's not credited with anything related to Kurt cobain so he's obsessed with cracking this case, but if that's the case, and as Tom repeatedly asks to the general concencious that knows about his work, why hasn't Love sued the all mighty butt fuck out of him? Maybe it's because he has to much evidence to prove she's a piece of shit, or maybe it's because Courtney turned the other cheek and was the better man.... Phahahaha like we're support to believe that? The same women who just last week said her husband was a liar. Right. And look, I'm not saying he was murdered even though I'm making it out to be that way. I'm just looking at it from the outside in.

    Great evidence.

She's not suing him? He MUST have been murdered.

  4. His stuff outside Guns is alright generic rock, nothing too offensive but for me not too interesting. His solo record was half decent and Ballad of Death and his other ones are quite enjoyable. Given up whining about other stuff about the guy I am unimpressed by as his musical offerings are what matters congruent to GNR as a whole, if he offers some nice solos and can actually amend his songwriting a bit with Axl to help attain the vision I'm all for it.

This is pretty much how I feel about him. He's not remarkable guitar player, but besides BH and BBF GNR has never had a guy like that (even though 2 is a decent number).

I think he's a good collaborator, as evidenced by his work with Motley Crue and SixxAM. I see no reason why he couldn't put out some decent songs with Axl and the rest of the crew. He doesn't need to lay out the mind bending solos, we have BBF for that (I hope).

  5. I don't mind mickey voice on SCOM, it allows him to sing the song with consistency.

I'm just glad that they released something promotional. Maybe Axl is starting to come around, but as others have said it's too bad he couldn't have done this during the 2006 era. A live DVD may have become an underground hit and introduced GNR to people who may have written them off as a dinosaur band.

That said I still think that Axl looks cooler on stage in this clip than he does now with the leather jackets.

What's with Axl? He starts promoting in between peeks.

-2002 with funny braids, all mickey voice, kinda fat, bottomed face and hip-hop gear - MTV Music Awards.

-2006 looking completely badass, high fashion, lean, voice in top gear - Nothing (except presenting at the MTV awards).

-2010 still looking pretty badass, Cool stage outfits, not too fat, voice PEAK condition - Nothing.

-2012-Present, Looking old, mailing it in most nights, dumb stage outfits - RIR, Live DVD, Interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Golden Gods, Budweiser Ad.

  6. At the end? Or before the solo?

Since hitting that note seems to be so revered I always practice it. IMO, it's not that hard. Just take a deep breath and belt it out... it's only one note.

lol. Not if you sing Guns songs for 3 hours. One note can be all it takes to fuck up his throat for the rest of the night. Know your limits and shit.

This is true.if I sing it early in the day when my voice is rested there's no problem, but later on after I've been using my vocal chords all day for various things it gets painful.

Perhaps do it earlier in the show?

  7. Seems like he has decided to let his solos say more and not be just be random showcasing of his technical abilities. Sounds promising. Perhaps he has picked up something from playing Slash's solos.

I have always found his solos melodic enough :shrugs: In reality, he has only like a couple of songs that are heavily self conscious ridiculous shred. (Guitars Suck, I Can't Play The Blues etc.)

When you can actually shred it can be hard to hold back. I think he does a good mix of both.

  8. If CD is the worst album of the 00's than AFD is the worst album of all time.

It's then, not than. I can't discuss anything with someone too ignorant to confuse those words.

CD is the worst album of the 00s. It doesn't matter what other albums are considered worst of all time. Of course, my opinion can always be different thEn yours. :rofl-lol:

    You've lost all credibility.

    You're a fucking moron.

You're not worth having a discussion with.

You're a cancer to this forum.

The less someone hears from you the better.

There's absolutely no need to brake the rules and insult other posters.

    Thank you, Russ. ;)

I take it back. Your posts are insightful, witty and original.

Like poetry actually. I'll compile a bunch a publish them into a book through Random House. New York Time #1 Best Seller. Oprah Book Club.

    You the man!

  9. It might have been lost under a wave of crap. Thankfully Axl held out and was able to bring out an album of songs that develops GNR. It's a huge shame that some of the band especially Slash and Duff ran out of patience. Not a failing on their part or Axl's. Shit happens for a reason.

Are you saying that it was a good thing that CD took so long to come out?

I find that hard to defend in all honesty

I don't think an album that year would've have been half as big as the Illusions or AFD, but they could've made a big comeback if they retooled their sound to have a modern edge (kind of like Contraband). And it probably would've been a really great album (think a little bit of the industrial and electronic stuff Axl was interested in at the time, blended with the rocky/blues edge Slash and Duff brought).

Wasn't Slash out of the band in 1997?
