  1. This is about Axl and Slash getting along .... this is not about a reunion.

I have the formula for them to get along ... but don't know if it's worth to apply it, if the fans will keep feeding this war.

I'm curious to know what it is. Because I've never been able to think of anything besides drugging them and locking them in a room together. It seems Axl is very stubborn to ever see Slash again. I'd like to know if there was a realistic way to have them get along.

I wont apply the formula until I'm sure that it can be usefull for fans to stop this war.

I'm not talking about a reunion either. I'm just talking about speaking to each other, which again Axl seems against doing.

Your formula can be useful for fans to stop this war. What is it?

I'm with you on this. I don't really want a reunion at this point. It's sort of like when ABBA turned down a Billion dollars to do one more tour because they felt that it wouldn't be the same and may tarnish their image. They want people to remember them the way that they were as ABBA.

If they got together again it wouldn't be the same. They're both doing their thing and they both seem happy doing it.

I would like to see them just let bygones be bygones and get forgive each other. Not be buddies or anything, just not freak out if the other is within 100 feet you.

  2. Can somebody with authority put the OP in a basket, and blast him into some far-away galaxy?

    K thanks.

So you're asking for me to be banned because you don't like my posts? Who else do you want banned?

In all fairness, you were banned once before. You just got to come back because they unbanned everyone. So maybe he just wants you re-banned. It's a subtle difference.

However, to the thread's question: I think comparing the relative happiness levels of Axl and Slash is rather puerile.

    Well waddaya know?

  3. I do NOT compare bands from different genres. Metallica is thrash metal, GNR is rock. The only thing they have in common is that they both have one of the greatest records in their respective genres. Master Of Puppets and Appetite For Destruction.

I can't into Master of Puppets the album. It has something to do with the recording quality. I prefer the live versions of those songs. ..AND JUSTICE FOR ALL is for me, the greatest Metallica album of all time.

Yeah, it's kinda sad when you think about it. They've released, I think, 10 major albums (not including the symphony bullshit) and only 4 of them (black, load, reload, garage inc.) had great production. Think about how good Lighting,Puppets and Justice would sound with Black's production. That would be incredible.

I don't care what anyone says. I LOVE the production of Justice. It was so cold and vicious....

I also don't mind the production of Death Magnetic. I agree with the others though...

  4. He always has to get his 2 cents in... then throw in a disclaimer, so he doesn't look bad - " Anyways, I don't keep up with that, I don't follow it."

Or maybe it was because he was doing an interview and the reporter asked him the question.

I agree with Orsys on this one.

I'm not a Slash hater and I don't necessarily disagree with him, but this pisses me off. I don't see why he has to stick his nose into this.

Even if he was just asked a question he can jus say that he "doesn't know anything and no comment"...

I dunno - I feel like quotes can be taken out of context very easily when you're doing an interview... It was probably a very brief response from a longer chat, but suddenly it becomes a news headline. You know what I mean? I don't think anything he said was particularly unreasonable anyway.

Yeah, someone probably asked him about it...well, he could said "no comment", but his answer just shows that he knows something about the whole thing (although he said that he didn't follow it), but with his answer he basically didn't tell anything, so...big deal :)

It's really not I suppose, but you gotta think that this comment made Axl break a couple of his crucifixes....

I suppose it's possible, but I don't see how this could be taken out of context. It's pretty black n white...

  7. What could piss Azoff off more then to see all that money he would of made from a reunion being made by some other manager?

    :D

    That would be funny...

I think the best way to get a reunion would be for everyone to say that they wouldn't care if the old band reunited and for everyone close to Axl to tell him that such a tour would never make any money and would be sure to fail money wise... than he'd just wanna prove everyone wrong...

This would of course be complete horseshit, but if everyone got behind it... :D

jk btw (just in case Dexter is reading)

  8. It's like this. Azoff or anyone else, despite any grudge or feelings etc, isn't going to ignore money. Axl and new GNR can still put people in seats. Would Azoff or anyone else rather have an empty venue, or an venue with something going on, whether it's a sell out or not?

The bottom line is that Axl Rose has a lot of pull. If he decided tomorrow he wanted to do any promotional activity he wished, they would have him immediately. He's like Michael Jackson. He could be on Leno, Letterman, Conan, 60 Minutes, covers of magazines etc. He can do whatever promotion he pleases.

So if Azoff did try to screw him and GNR out of playing in the US, all Axl has to do is self promote, and get interest going, and then he fills venues.

Very true. If Axl wanted to he could do interviews, do Leno, etc just to get his point across and get the court of public opinion on his side...

Than again, if he's gonna do it for this than.... ah never mind... :D

  9. First off, this lawsuit explains everything we've all wondered about. I had an idea that this was what happened to fuck up CD and the band, but now it's confirmed.

Will he win the lawsuit? Yeah, I'd say he will win the lawsuit. Knowing Axl, he's probably got a pile of hard evidence to support these facts, otherwise it wouldn't be worth it to pursue.

It's risky, because messing with Azoff is risky, but at the same time, how could he not do this? Azoff really screwed everything up.

There is not a chance Axl wins a countersuit. This was done for no reason other than to come to a settlement on the original money Azoff sued him for.

While that could be a possible strategy, I somehow doubt it. I think Axl has a very good chance of winning the lawsuit if the claims against Azoff are true, which they appear to be.

I have to agree, if Azoff was setting up the band for failure-and lets face it the lack of interviews, tour promotion etc seem to indicate this then rose could win.

Securing a $13 million dollar exclusive distribution deal negates any talk of wanting the band to fail. Azoff can just as easily say, and for all we know it could well be true, that Axl's refusal to do media or promotions limited the bands ability to be properly marketed. Axl taking his ball and going home during that period did nothing but screw himself if he wanted to make a case that somehow everyone else was sabatoging the release. The record label and his management team will point the finger directly back at him as being the reason for marketing/promo ending up the way it did.

I'm not sure that the record company will be involved in the case.

I think it's possible that Axl was not down with the Best Buy deal. Sure, you get 13 Million because all those records were purchased by BB but it also probably made it so the record could not be purchased by everyone. SO even though have more units shipped, less people got it into their hands. That's why CD hasn't been a smash hit, but it's been steady. If I was Axl I would not have been thrilled about having my Album only available in around 1000 stores nationwide...

In regards to interviews, I agree. But Axl has never been a guy to give tons of interviews, especially when he's pissed off about something.

And I would think that he only wanted them to fail after realizing he wouldn't get what he wanted. I doubt he signed on with the intention of doing this. It just happened.

  10. So all signs point to the fact that Axl was referencing Azoff in his "false rumors about Haiti" tweet, and not Slash like everyone thought.

Pretty much. It didn't seem at the time as Slash had not said anything about doing a reunion for Haiti.

Than again, if he resigned as Manager on October,23 I don't see how he would be able to make such a proposal...

  11. Does anyone here live LA?

All that one of you has to do is the courthouse and request the court papers that Azoffs lawyers filed in March. They are all a matter of public record so anyone can get them...

  12. Why did they put William Bill Bailey on the document when Axl had his name legally changed to Axl Rose? I really hope Axl wins this one.

He did it to be an asshole.

Even though his name is legally changed they still refer to Axl Rose as his stage name. Therefore they are positively identifying the defendant...

If it was a huge issue I'm sure that Azoff's lawyers wouldn't have let that go through.... unless they didn't know that is name was legally changed...

  13. If the former Gunners are there, that dynamic changes instantly. There's also the fact that they'd have to learn the new songs.

Do you really think that Old GNR would perform CD songs...??

As an example: DLR has never performed a Van Hagar song and never will. Say what you will about Van Hagar, but they had just as many hits as old VH...

  14. http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/05/18/axl-rose-sues-his-former-manager-for-5-million/

"When asked to comment on Mr. Rose’s suit, Mr. Azoff said in a statement on Tuesday: “On advice of counsel I cannot respond at this time, but will discuss in my upcoming book, ‘My Life With William Bill Bailey.’” "

    Ouch. That's just fucking mean.

I can totally see the same guy that calls Axl by his father's name who raped Axl as a baby, sabotaging Axl for a reunion.

    Anbody else see this?

Even without that I would believe it...

The music business is a horrible, horrible world....
