  1. YOU PEOPLE ARE DUMB AND HAVE NO EYES. I SAID NOT IF HE RELEASES A LIVE ALBUM. BUT IF HE JUST UPLOADS SOME OF THE SHOWS THEY DO ON THE NET. FOR THE FANS TO HAVE TO DOWNLOAD.

Oh, so you mean you want Axl to encourage illegal downloading?

No Dave, what I think Son of a Gun is referring to is the type of thing that Pearl Jam do. For a while they've been recording all of their shows and about a month or so after they played it, it will be available for download off their site for $9.99 (a bit more if you want an FLAC torrent). It's a perfect quality soundboard with a good audience level (at least the one i got for Reading Festival 2006 was) and they come with cd covers to print off and a load of really good pictures from the show.

Some of you may be thinking why should I pay another $9.99 for a concert i already payed for? i had no issues with paying the price of 2 beers at the festival (about £6/£7) to have a perfect copy of one of the best performances i have ever witnessed (this was due in no small part to the people i was with and what we were on!!) and it brings back wicked memories.

So the point is, it is very feasible for Axl to be able to do this as Son of a Gun is suggesting, but as is the answer to pretty much every thread on this forum - It's all up to Axl.

  2. WTF!!!!! It NOW says:

Be sure to come back to the GN'R's all-new, official Web site for constantly updated news, exclusive video, music and more.

That is just appaling. You cant just go and renage on something like that. Ok, put it in perspective, a band not updating their website when they said they would is hardly end of the world stuff, but given the GNR previous track record for online 'Soon's it really isn't gonna fill people with confidence.

are you fucking stupid????!!!!!!!!! :anger: can't you see the damn VIDEO!!!!!??? <_<

    Kannon.

seen it now. wasn't there when i checked a little while ago but they'd changed the bit of text that i quoted.

aaaaah...... GOOD memories from Download. Imagine seeing that on MDMA!!!!

  4. woo hoo, i'm very happy, tickets for Hammersmith AND Download just arrived... so i'm pretty frigging excited. Apart from the fact that i got back from uni to find that my boss at the pub where i work has given me shifts all the time for this beer festival there... which of course is Download weekend!!!!! fuck fuckity fuck fuck fuck. so i've got to get people to cover for me when everyone that can work pretty much is working!!! GAY-BAR.

(i have every confidence that i'll sort it out, but if not i'll throw an Axl style tantrum and quit!!)

  5. the insurance for the shoot was too expensive...

now i like the sound of that. seems as if this video must have something fucking cool or dangerous in it if insurance is astronomical... GONNA BE EPIC!!! maybe something involving a lot of fire or explosions perhaps (kinda like in don't cry with the car going over the cliff).

  6. woo hoo, got mine this morning - standing, only on hold for about 10 minutes max. yeah, went for the real ticket option too. there's just so much risk of having the ticket on your phone. it could get lost, nicked, broken, sim/memory card corruption, deleted by mistake.... and the main thing is that you cant put a text message up on your wall!!!

  7. gotta say its seems fairly safe to assume that they'll close on nightrain then paradise city... when he was on the phone during the trunk show they were rehearsing and they were playing nightrain, and then when asked if they were nearly done he said 'yeah, just gotta do PC then we're done' or words to that affect. makes sense that you rehearse the set AS A SET, rather than just practice the songs in any old order, so it would appear that it's safe to assume that those are the 2 closers of the set.

  8. yeah, cos i saw someone posted some comments axl said to piazza that i dont *think* i heard him say. and also something about a video store?!

BTW thanks alot Madison, that really lightened up a rainy day in Newcastle this afternoon!!!

  9. Nuno helped to write "More than Words", which, on guitar and vocals, sounds like it took 5 minutes. I don't think he'd be much help on the writing front, though he's a skilled player. Besides, he's famous from the exact type of band that Gnr shouldn't be pigeonholed with.

Dude, have you heard any Extreme other than More Than Words? Nuno Bettencourt is one of the sickest guitarists around and certainly my second favourite next to Slash. Check out Pornograffitti and on that album tracks like He Man Woman Hater, Decadence Dance, L'il Jack Horny, Money, Get The Funk Out... well basically every song on it. Trust me, the man is a genius on the geetar. The way he fuses hard rock riffs with funk edges and grooves, and the way he can make the most badass funk/rock lead parts into tangable rhythm parts is, to me, phenomenal. The band went down the pan a bit when Gary Cherone started making all the lyrics a bit too Christian and 'Stop the bomb'ish on their later albums, but check out Pornograffitti and I'm sure you'll change your mind about him as a guitarist.

Agreed, he'd not be the best choice for the new GNR sound, but I'd just love to see him play, and with Axl... WOW!!!!

  10. this is such a non topic i really dont know why i bothered posting in it.... well i guess 13 pints of guinness and 1 more post on my count might explain it i suppose.

who really gives a shit how it's spelt, either you like a song or you dont. what the hell would have happened 30 years ago? [<<<< i mean without the internet to discuss these things] would you have thought - 'well, that song sounds ok, but i wonder how it's spelt? if it's with a [DELETE AS APPLICABLE= Y, I, H, however the fuck you want to spell it] then that's ok, but any way else... oooh, I'm not too sure about that......

come on!!! a song is a song. either it strikes a chord (no pun intended) or it doesn't, does it really matter how you spell a word in its title?

  11. someone earlier said that they should open with Get in the Ring with a special added rant about Scott ( i really cant be arsed to sift through the posts - i'm pretty drunk right now), but i dont know if you've noticed, but VR never slagged off GNR, and GNR have never slagged off GNR (Axl may have had a go at the occasional fan, but never at a band memeber in person in concert), and that's because (in my opinion) they know that half their fans watching them are GNR/VR fans respectively. they don't want to alienate half of their festival/gig fanbase by a single comment!!?? i really cant be arsed to explain my reasoning cos i think anyone with half a brain cell can understand it, and i really cant believe that i've gone back to correct every typo in this post considering how pissed i am.

  12. surely we could set up some kind of buddy system here where people in the US with the password could get tix for themselves if they're going, and arrange to get one for someone from abroad whos going over for the show? pay by paypal or whatever? i might also be quite nice for the person travelling over to have someone from the NYC area to even take them around the city before the show or whatever, have a few beers and then rock the fuck out to GNR! sorta like and enchange student kinda thing! but with no school, and a GNR concert.... which i think is much better.

could the mods maybe arrange some kind of thing like this? always help out a fellow Gunner i say.

(I'm not one of the people fortunate enough to have the money to go to the USA, and also i have end of year exams at uni when the shows are, but I'll be going to Download the week after they finish!!!! alright!!!!)

  13. if i go i'll bring a fat bag of weed with me rock3

i'd be there in a flash! lawrence, if your weed existsTM, then i think i'll be bringing plenty of my own, and we can have a BIG FAT SMOKE UP my friend!!!

  14. that looks like a tourbus interior which sorta corroborates what was said in the post about some band at the roxy can't remember what they're called or whatever thread it waws cos i'm fucking watsted at the mo, but somehow i can type relatively cohereantyl??!!!!????

  15. i think people are missing the point here. the reason people are saying not to share these DEMOS is because of the fact that they are DEMOS. They argue that they are to the best of our knowledge unfinished, and if Axl had wanted us to hear them, he would have released them... ON THE OTHER HAND, he actually WANTED people to hear Madagscar, The Blues, CD, Rhyiadh, etc, otherwise why the hell would he have played them at concerts and on fucking TV?

So I think your arguement is a little flawed in that respect re:bootlegs D-GenerationX, as Axl/GNR want people to hear songs that they play in concerts- its kinda the whole point - but they wouldn't want people to hear stuff that they feel isn't ready, and that is why it hasn't been released yet.

Just to make it clear, I HAVE downloaded Better (full), TWAT, and IRS. That doesn't make me anti-Axl or trying to piss him off, i'm an opportunist, if something is availiable i'll grab it. how people feel about the distribution of these tracks is their own decision to make, but studio leaks and bootlegs are not the same moral issue.

  16. if you go to richard's site, on the tour section he has listed:

    2006-05-27 Rock in Rio, Portugal

2006-06-xx Gods Of Metal Festival, Italy

2006-06-09 RDS Arena w/ opening act Motley Crue

    2006-06-11 Download Festival, Donnington Park

    2006-06-xx Nova Rock, Austria

So it looks as if they definitely are playing Italy, but maybe the person that runs this site got their information from places like here, but that seems unlikely, although the promoters have confirmed Motley Crue as NOT opening in Dublin...

    The mysteries continue...

  17. just noticed something in that pick... it's obviously at a show of some sort as if you look at Trent and the two guys on his left, they all have ear monitors around their necks... which makes me think that the sign had been placed there on purpose... interesting...
