there's also this little known American band playing on the Friday night (22nd)... they've put out quite a few albums, but noone has mentioned them on this post... they're called Metallica or something...? anyone here heard of them?

I think the Axl would do a good version of The Animals' "House of the Risin Sun".

Other bands covering GNR stuff - How about Creed doing something like Don't Cry...

I think that Weezer should open for GnR in the future, they did at the London Arena in August and they were really good. I had a bit of a preview for that as they played at Reading three days before, and said "We're going to go play Leeds, then we're playing with Guns N' Roses, then we're goin home," so i had an idea that they were going to support, although it wasn't announced until the day of the concert.

Anyways, Axl is quite a fan of Weezer having met them at SummerSonic in Japan, and is rumoured to be singing on thier next album, so i can't see any problems there. i hope they do Reading Festival next year. It would be awesome - MetallicA are already on the bill... GNR would make it incredible ;D

I'd ask him to join my band, or at least play a gig with us, or failing that, persuade him to have me replace one of the guitarists when they inevitably leave GnR...

Clear Channel have just royally screwed themselves over. When (not IF) the album comes out there will be the huge hype again, and tour companies will be fighting over who gets to do the next GnR tour ON THE BACK OF AN ALBUM, and that WILL sell lots of tickets. IF this "Official" reason is true - sounds plausable - then I very much doubt that Axl would want to choose CC again...

Finck was (is) one of the coolest people I have ever play guitar. I don't know what hasd happened since the summer gigs. I saw them in London (UK) and everything went well - they were on time, sounded great... It just appears to me that everything's gone wrong in America... don't take it personally, I have family there - but in terms of the tour, it would have been better if a REAL World Tour took place in Europe and the East and places...

I just had a thought about the "18 songs... and about 10 extra tracks." quote. When he said that at the London Arena in late August, I thought about the bonus disc too. But on my way home from the concert, i realised that the 18 songs he refered to were the ones they were playing - an 18 song set, inc. 4 new songs, which add to to the "10 extra tracks" gives a new album consisting of 14 songs, and no bonus disc. I may be wrong, but it seems logical to me...

Any thoughts people??

Well put G-Face. I was pleasantly surprised when they carried on soloing to Chinese Democracy at London, and to those of you who think the album is gonna be crap....

at the London show, Axl said that they were only playing the songs that they weren't gonna release as singles, and IMO they are great, except Ryiadh... or whatever it is - mediocre.  8)

Bit of a pathetic plea, but if anyone knows where to get mp3s from this concert i would be most greatful. i have the gig poster, the newspaper review, the TICKET, but i ain't got the damn bootleg!!!
