  1. It wasn't too bad since I had to work the day before, day of and day after and then some, so I got to avoid the awkwardness of being around a brother in law I don't like and two brothers who are not speaking to each other and not having to completely feel the emptiness of the first Thanksgiving without my mom.

And I also am not too crazy about the usual Thanksgiving food. Same shit every year and I'm so bored of it :max:

  2. Anti depressants can suck but also help. I know the doctors will tell you to stay on them for the rest of your life blah blah, but that's not possible for some. Maybe try a low dose and take it every other day till it builds up in your system and stay on it for a month to at least get you out of the trenches?

Just speaking from experience though, I know not everyone is the same. Have you ever tried cbd oils/ tinctures instead of smoking it?

I’ve asked some AI what it thinks about Skynet, Terminator 2 etc., and it basically said 'I have to go now'.

    Yeaaahhhh it fuckin knows!

Oddly enough I watched the most recent Terminator movie on tv and it finally hit me about Skynet and the current AI crap that's been going on now

Can you give an example of this actually having happened?

I feel bad for the kids who suffered during the lockdowns i.e not going to school to be around their friends to socialize etc. Especially certain age groups who benefit from that peer social interaction. But I also know teens who suffered too. My niece struggled. Doing work from home or school from home isn't for everybody and some think it's for them but then find out its a hard nope!

I don't have concrete articles etc myself, but it's obvious from parents and the kids who went through it that it affected them.

I dunno just adding that thought to the mix

So much violence these days. I really believe that covid has affected our brains too. A lot of people are thinking the same thing.

Since it turned out to be air born and we breath I bet it has some side effects to our brains.

It's been getting worse since covid started and now that's it's kind of slowed down, but not totally gone, I still know people who have gotten it recently, violence in our country and the world has gone off the rails.

I honestly feel the lockdowns/shutdowns have severely affected some people mentally. I think the stress, the feeling of lack of control, the financial stress it brought a lot by losing jobs etc. I think the psychological side effects of all that has altered some of the population. It was a weird time no doubt.

Yep, these guys were saying Instacart is worth doing around here, because we live near these new HOA developments full of people who really want food delivered and tip well. I think if I lived somewhere else I wouldn't even consider it (safety issues, mostly - I've lived in an actual ghetto before and no thanks).

I did just work on the other end of Instacart, my 6 month job was running a grocery pickup at a smaller grocery. I worked retail ages ago, and the things I experienced from customers recently were unreal, way over the top and totally irrational stuff, much worse than when I worked retail jobs in the past. I had more than one in-store customer slam their cart as hard as they could into one of my "shoppers" carts while yelling nonsense. Somebody canceled a $600 order, while screaming, because the deli was closed. One woman lost her mind because the store had stopped selling masks, yelling and swearing and knocking stuff over as she left the store. I'm a hothead myself so get it when people have reached their last nerve, but it happened every day, where it used to be only periodically with some rationale behind it, and it used to almost never be physical crap.

I have a pretty large ? pile myself, I'm kind of burned out on types of jobs I used to do. Something different would be awesome with me. I have a background working seasonal biological field jobs, and applied to a few of those again, and they're at the top of my "want badly" pile.

    Hope you've had some luck?

I'm at a job I've been at for over a month now, but I'm already losing hope for it. Before this job I was still applying to lots of places with no word back. I even applied to one of my old jobs (like 10 years ago old!), then all at once two job contacted me as I was beginning to do the paperwork things for my current job.

@Destiny I'm in pretty much the same boat as you, just the circumstances of how I got there are a bit different. I did go back out among the crazies for 6 months and I swear people are more insane than they ever have been. I saved up quite a bit and quit with decent savings in November because of it being an extremely hostile workplace (screaming, crying, one coworker making physical threats about other coworkers, among other insanity), like you I wish I had an even bigger cushion, and am thinking of maybe taking a not-so-serious job for now (I have an interview for one of those seasonal tax company jobs, and 2 former clients asked my why I didn't do gig economy stuff because they were making more $ than me). I just had an interview for a serious job and the interviewer was also insane. I AM a hermit and an extremely private person, but damn, I think the pandemic broke minds. I hope 2023 finds us both more gainfully employed even if it's in the latter half.

gig economy stuff like uber eats? I looked into doing Amazon flex where i deliver using my own car, but after having problems downloading the app and then researching what people had to say I figured it was a bust for me. I've found other companies that do grocery delivery and snacks/amenities but when it comes down to it I dont think its a safe bet.

Boy let me tell you that people are crazy now post pandemic. During it when i was still a captionist and the lockdowns happened world wide I got a lot of stories, info and crazies on the phone. All kinds of moronic opinions, funny/crazy stories, sob stories you name it. I can only imagine how it is in public.

I've been applying to places but haven't heard anything back yet. There was a cool little hobby store that was hiring but when I went in to ask, the owner didn't seem all there, so I'm keeping it in the ? pile for now

  8. I was working from home as a captionist for 3 years until I got laid off in September. We got a 60 day notice and I figured well having the holidays off for once would be cool.

    Wrong.

Family shit has dragged me down these past few months and I foolishly thought I didn't need to apply for unemployement (pride is a bitch), now I regret it. Not that im struggling but it'd be nice to have a bigger cushion than I have currently. I thought about donating plasma  but I'm such a wuss for needles in my inner elbow area, and they use big needles too!

But I'm going back to school in March (if all goes well) for continuing education to get a medical coding degree. So my job criteria now is something not serious in terms of atmosphere so maybe Ill work at a arcade/bowling alley?? I honestly feel working from home kinda messed me up and made me too much of a hermit, now I wanna get back out and be among the crazies again :P

    Just for random chat really.

What's some games people would recommend that are similar to Tomb Raider/Uncharted and Sniper Elite series? getting bored of the same titles

unrelated sorry, but while I hooked up my old ps2 and looked thru the memory card of my ps1 I found a save file of Tomb Raider 3  I can't remember when it was I played it and the date wasn't on the file. But I think I might revisit that game now....

  10. I got back on Twitter in August after deleting my profile back in 2016.

Boy have things changed since then!

When the Elon stuff was going down people were losing their shit so hard it was downright hilarious, really. I get being upset about drastic changes that could be done, but people were really acting like the damn site was gonna shut down.

THe only reason I got onto Twitter again was to follow artists /fanartists since I got into doing and learning digital art. But man I feel so old on there :D These kids are teens or mainly early 20's, and I don't care since I'm just browsing for good art to inspire or reference to. But i feel so out of the loop when it comes to the vernacular and how they talk with each other. I'm sounding like a boomer eh? (I'm in my mid 30's).

  11. I've never had a celebrity death really affect me, but hearing her death did and still does.  I remember when she came out with her first album and I thought "yeah right she prob sucks" but when I heard a snippet of a song I was intrigued. I even made a sig and avatar for this site with her one it!! :DHer music really helped me cope and help vent and put stuff behind in that period of my life. Her lyrics are great and her music (especially the first album) will always bring back memories of that time for me.

Gonna go listen to some now :shades:

    RIP LMP

I don't see how any woman could be bored with Jason Momoa? lol

But like I said only the two people in the marriage know what happened and I guess it's not fixable and then it's time to move on.

I must be in the tiny minority because I have never thought Jason was attractive

James Patterson's "Fear no Evil"  This is the latest Alex Cross novel.

Slash's book was awesome. So was Duff's and Steven's books. I wish Axl would write a book. Love to read about Axl's life before GNR and during and after and back again.

so far Nikki's is as i thought -kinda depressing but insightful. How he's alive still is anyones guess. I have 2 other books after nikki's to finish. I'm saving Slash for last!

If Axl decides to write a book we would have to wait double the time we waited for Chinese Democracy  but yes, it would be a great read!

  14. I guess im officially a basic bitch in her 30's who drinks wine now :shrugs:

I found this brand called Stella Rosa that makes good stuff. I dont thinks its technically wine since its low alcohol ,only 5% per bottle, but im not a wine person so i dont know what constitutes what. Anyways for this Thanksgiving I said fuck it and bought a total of 12 bottles, all different flavors to try, and by the time the day rolled around I had 10 left.

Up till now I've been stone sober, not even beer which i love has not sounded good to me. But this stuff is like fizzy juice and it takes the edge off which i need right now.

Still cant believe I'm a wino now  I use to make fun of those bitches!

It was released a few weeks beforehand.

I was in primary school child and only have vague memories of the Saturn (which I never owned). The Nintendoe 64 came out not long after too.

Kids all got a Nintendoe 64 or a Playstation. The Saturn sold badly outside Japan and is really more of a trivia pursuit question.

I remember my cousins had one and the only two games i remember was a shark one ? and a racing one. Didn't take to it as much as the other consoles
