Maybe they're just fun to play and they like the crowd reception?
everything doesn't have to have all these deep meanings or layers of controversy

Might be wrong, but that sounds just like Axl!
God, I hope you're right. I assumed it's a song for Axl to take a rest, and I hope I'm wrong

My guess is that BHS will be the instrumental replacing Wish You Were Here.

I've been a fan since '89. I was excited to see them twice in Chicago last summer.
i am happy to see them again.
no "shoulda, woulda, coulda" infantile whining filling endless pages and threads here.
complaining won't change anything and nobody cares.

I'd love for Frank to prove us wrong plz but sir you could never play this song. Way to many fills at a slower rock beat that without the right pace axl couldn't say all the words. #thebadapple
If he inserted this song it would change the whole way he plays all GnR songs.
Good you posted this.
they were about to post a live periscope performance of it to promote the next leg!
now they'll play something else.

What are your GnR guilty pleasures?
The two GnR songs I listen to most these days are covers: Aint it Fun and Sympathy for the Devil. #3 would be "Since I Don't Have You".
I'm proud to like Ain't it Fun also! Great, great song at high volume. Fun to play on guitar, too!

Hi All,
Could someone please explain to me what is the whole Erin vs Stephanie war about? I heard that there are Erin's camp & Stephanie's camp - what the camps have against each other?
Why Erin & Stephanie do not like each other now? I am especially relating to the latest Erin's post regarding Stephanie's son quoting Axl. Erin said that it was cruel and that one day she will tell her truth. WTF ?
What was cruel exactly and what truth? Didn't she say the truth in court back in the 90s? Why did she suddenly changed her side against Stephanie and suddenly became so protective over Axl?
I do know the history of their relationships with Axl and lawsuits etc., but I do not understand where the recent conflict comes from and what is it that people have against both Stephanie & Erin.
I would appreciate as much details as possible.
p.s. I am kind of wondering how is Meegan fitting in all this now (I mean the GNR reunion & travelling with Slash & Axl), while she was testifying against Axl in the 90s
How in the world would we know? As far as I know, none of us here dated them.

I think people look at the vulgar lyrics and go "trash, up there with My World". I think they are missing the point of the song
I think it's going for a sleezy, depraved, almost demonic tone. I think it does it well. Axl's delivery on the lines is fantastic. I listen to the song to just enjoy it some times
"Oh, what can I do...?"
What "people" and why does it matter?

so, in hindsight
we know that it took years to make the Chinese Democracy and we know of a few specific reasons for that. But let's put them in perspective now.
the band hit the promo world tour in 2002 and the album was ready to be released. A little more than halfway thru, the got tour cancelled. The album was not released. We more or less know why the tour was cancelled, well, we don't but we know something. But why wasn't the album released in 2002 or 2003? What specifically happened to make all these guys go from "it's 100% done" to "it's 80% done and we need 3 months of mixing". Instead - 4 years of total silence
same thing in 2006. Axl said "definitely 2006". World tour. Not cancelled. Successful. Nobody left. Well, Brian did but it I doubt they said "no album this year bikoz we need to give Frank Ferrer two years to re-cut all of the drums on the album". 2006 was gone. No album. World tour continued in 2007. No album.
I mean, don't re-hash the same old same old 1999 lost album stuff. What do you know about winter 2002/2003 - why was the album not released then? What happened?
and what happened in 2006? Why was the album pushed back then? And for two years. Let's focus on these two periods only. We don't need to recycle the whole 1999 story, and than dating back to 1995, and then going back to 1991 when Izzy left.
It was a long time ago, 15 and 11 years ago, but it seems like yesterday. A lot of us lived thru it and experienced it firsthand. I mean, first hand - with the internet, and all. In real time, I mean. What was the word around the streets back then?
It was ISIS interference.

Great success Not in this liftime tour in North America inspired Metallica for first stadium tour in NA...I think It will be half soldout venues-stadiums,as we know Mmetallica had trouble to soldout arenas in States in past...

It's a new theory. Further testing will need to be done, but it's definitely something to look into. I think we will need to get through this tour to do some hard comparisons. I guess we can go ahead and throw NA tour against it but I'd like to wait for the second leg. I don't think he's matched NA tour yet.
Are you guys for real? Axl sabotages his performance because she hates Australia? Yet he brings out the special guests and many think he sounds good?
That theory is insane!

Finding the official GNR social media topic full of Melissa dumb posts it's kinda disappointing
She helps put on a good show. Axl and the band dig her. Who cares about her posts?

I have to ask, why does Estranged seem to be the go-to song? Of all the songs the could soundcheck day in and day out, why Estranged? That one seems to be the one showing up at every sound check... Is is because they don't play enough new songs live?
I suspect it's more for the crew's benefit to get the audio right rather than the band to practice. It's long and each instrument has some time to stand out so the mix can be set. Playing it each time helps the crew understand if something is off

Her backing vocals are over rated too and certainly not needed. She might sound ok on a ballad or two but not needed.. These same songs sounded fine with Izzy, Duff, Gibly and Matt doing backups.. Apparently Fortus and Frank can't pick up that slack.
Or again, have her come out for the 2 songs she is "needed". She doesn't need to be flopping around like a blue meathead the whole show.
Cool ranch dressing?
Okay. You win. I will have her removed from the band.
No need to discuss further. You can buy her keyboard on eBay next week.
now can you get on with your life?

What are you trying to achieve by complaining about Melissa? You think Axl doesn't want her and the others want her kicked out? Who cares about her appearance? GNR was always democratic about letting members dress however they want.
don't you get tired of having these same debates over and over? It's so pointless

i do think franks inability to play drums at a normal tempo and not the speed of sound is part of the reason why axls voice is so mickey ish he never gets to catch his breath
Dude, Axl said they chose to speed songs up as a band.
frank is doing as told. Christ, people forget the facts so easily to complain and whine.

Can we please have one sticky thread for everyone to bitch about the set list?
do we really need endless new threads about it?
does it need to come up in each thread about each show?
the discussions about it go nowhere. Let's save the time and drama and just leave it alone.

Top 5, because they brought me into the rock world. I checked out the bands they mention and I discovered a new world.
Not #1 because of a lack of music creation and repetitive set lists within a tour.
Compare it to Trent and NIN. new stuff every couple of years. Soundtracks. Side projects- How to Destroy Angels. He just put out a new EP,and reworking of The Fragile. He announced two major NIN projects for 2017. There's always something fresh.
Axl is a brillliant and hard working guy. I hope to see stuff under him, as GNR, or Axl/DC.

GNR the Photographic History is a great photo collection.
"Welcome to my Jungle" is good.
Slash's and Duff's are obvious choices.

I love how everyone feels qualified to make judgements about how music sounds based on cell phones recording across a massive crowd from a PA system meticulously tuned to deliver great audio to live human ears during a concert.
It's like judging great fine art or architecture from a cell phone photo.
