Estranged Reality
Hey everyone - check out a song called "Power to Believe" by Dream Academy. It's an '80s song, sort of cheesy electronica going on, but it's moving nevertheless. It was featured in the soundtrack for the movie Planes, Trains & Automobiles. The instrumental/electronic part plays while Neal (Steve Martin) is riding on the train back home from Chicago and starts thinking about Del (John Candy) and realizes something isn't "right" with the situation, and then turns around and heads back to the station to confront him. It's pretty sad, especially the way it's used in the movie. I can't upload it to the forum because of rules but let me know if you can't find it on P2P or anything.Johnnys Gonna Die - The ReplacementsUnsatisfied by The Replacements, too. And Answering Machine. God, what a great album Let It Be is. Better than the Beatles' Let It Be, IMO. Man I love the Replacements, but damn... Let It Be by The Beatles is not a very good album. Even Beatles fans are usually split on it. It's a good one, it has a couple great tracks, but it also has a lot of average ones; it's not a great album, and Let It Be by the Replacements is a great album. The band was sprawled, unfocused and at each other's throats when Let It Be was recorded. It was also recorded by Phil Spector who hadn't worked with the Beatles prior and that's another reason many Beatles purists are split over its quality. I've never been able to get into it - hence why I added an "IMO" after my post.
